I’m usually not the type of person to get emotional with a movie to the point of crying, and I don’t know how but all of a sudden at the end of the movie I found myself not crying, but weeping. The movie triggered memories of my dad who passed away a little over 2 years ago, before I turned 18, and when it happened he was away from home, in a different city. I’m not really good with grief and at that time I couldn’t really process the fact that I would no longer have him around, I really loved him, but I feel like at that time I was ignoring what happened. The relationship between Pinocchio and Gepetto in this movie was so moving, I couldn’t avoid to mourn for my dad, it took me this long to really free my feelings and let it all out. I’m incredibly grateful to Guillermo del Toro and to all the wonderful people who made this version of Pinocchio possible, amazing voice acting and cinematography, Thank u Mexico as well for producing such talented directors.

Im not sure what, but something in me resonated while watching it, it made me feel sad, remorseful, all of those things. But when I heard this song, I had to pause it and compose myself. Many years ago, I lost my grandfather on my fathers side. I never knew him that much, but when I did, he was not very memorable. And as it happened, my father grew away from the whole family, it felt like a wall had grown between us. And soon.. He was gone too. When I heard this I just had all of that come back to me, and I now I just wish the last thing I could have said to him was...
