Rhaegar had 3 children with two dark haired women. Two children had dark hair and one had silver. Genetics can be fickle. That said, both Alyn and Addam had silver hair in the book.
Worth noting, in the book, Addam is 16 and his mother claims he is Laenor's son. That's why he can ride Seasmoke. It also makes me wonder if Laenor died offscreen. As far as we know a dragon can only bond with one rider at a time.
I don't think he's dead. I think that's why Seasmoke claimed a rider instead of the other way around. He was abandoned for over six years and chose someone who at least shares blood with Laenor.
@havok6280 True. Maybe it's just how I'm interpreting it, but I'm not aware of another example of the dragon being the one to claim a rider. That tells me that Seasmoke misses its bond and knows Laenor is alive but never coming back. So, it decided to find the next best person who shares his blood. I'm willing to be wrong, but we'll probably never know one way or the other. I'm cool with this being the exception to the rule based on the unique situation. I don't know of any other riders who abandoned their dragon.
I'm just throwing it out there. At this point in the book, Daemon wasn't doing much. There isn't much written about his time in Harrenhall. He was there trying to raise an army. So it was either get some character development or barely be in the season. He wasn't doing a lot of badass Daemon things. I personally love this arc. A certain group of book readers are the ones who are haters on alicent because alicent is different in the book and they’re mad her character is more relatable on the show.
Book reader here, and she's one of my favorite show characters. This isn't the book to be upset about changes with. The way it's written makes it difficult to know what's accurate and what isn't. Part of the fun of the show for me is how different from the book it is.
I'm a book reader. Most of the twats hating haven't even read the book, or else they wouldn't spout half the dumb bullshit that they do. Show has by far surpassed the book for me in terms of quality. Fire & Blood was a boring as fuck history book. Every character in it was a non-character or a boring series of tropes. Alicent in the book was an obnoxious evil stepmother. The show has done a great job at making her an actual character that is relatable. The people who screech otherwise are simpletons, anime fans and people who read the Fire & Blood wiki or watched that shitty animated recap on UA-cam, because I don't understand where half these people get their ridiculous opinions about how the show has deviated. Clearly, we all aren't reading the same book here.
@@IIIIAmSHODAN well i stand corrected then. Obviously i don’t mean all book readers, but I’m a big fan of alicent and online see most of the hate directed at her unjustly because she was “worse in the books”.
@Dean-v2s she is much better written in the book. She is a caring mother who is willing to do anything to protect her children and make her son a king because he actually deserves it, not because of Viserys’s last words or some prophecy. She also never had an affair with Cole, who was also completely destroyed in this series. In the book, they are truly just and noble. This does not mean that they less relatable, it's just that you people want them to be corrupt
I think since ep2 Seasmoke has been kinda feeling Addam out. Also since ep2 I have felt the chemistry between Rhaenyra and Mysaria. It seems logical that Rhaenyra would seek comfort in Mysaria when all of the people around her this whole season have questioned her and let her down. Mysaria believes in Rhaenyra so I think Rhaenyra was just grateful in that moment. I have no problem with it like so many people do. I thought this was a solid episode and really enjoyed it.
It seems it will be another 2 years until Season 3, but the good news is that we'll have "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" (based on the Dunk and Egg novellas) next year to help bridge the gap and tide us over. From how the schedules are lining up, it seems likely we'll be getting an ASoIaF season every year between the two shows. The Rhaenyra/Mysaria kiss makes a lot of sense to me; there's been an underlying tension between them for the last few episodes and they're both in need of comfort. Add this to the homoerotic undertones between Rhaenyra and Alicent in Season 1, and it didn't come as a huge shock. It remains to be seen how this will play out, but I'm fully on board.
As far as I know, it'll be one season per novella, and there are three currently released. After that, it's entirely possible that they continue D&E's stories based on what we know comes after. It wouldn't surprise me if the show ends at the Tragedy of Summerhall.
Have people become so impatient that there needs to be more action every second episode? Mesel says it needs more action… how much “action” happened in GoT first three seasons? One- Blackwater! Those seasons are still considered the height of that show and the writing was already written as opposed to a historical plot point book with a differing narrative. I enjoy these eps because you know it’s building towards something that has a payoff
Please do a reaction to THE FOUNDATION series from AppleTV. It is superb. It's based on Isaac Asimov's The Foundation stories which inspired the creation of Dune.
When it comes to that scene with Halena mentioning how the bug no longer sings, If you notice, those look like little bird cages. Which brings me back to last season when Rahniese is having the discussion with Alicent about how shes a "Bird in a cage" and only wants to make a window in the walls of her prison.... Alicent no longer has ANY control. That window is now shut therefore the caged bird no longer sings. Represented by the fact she is dressing and behaving like the old caged bird she once was and now is again.
I'm really not a fan of how the show depicts starvation, like poor starving people wouldn't ask for meat, meat would seem like a luxury, and they for sure wouldn't throw the food away like they did at Alicent. As a person who grew up in a poor African country and experienced some starvation and hunger, I find it distasteful. Also the show wanting to pin it on Aemond alone is really immature writing in my opinion given that Rhaenyra started it. The show keeps whitewashing her that I'm afraid where it's headed. It's an anti-war and anti-classism story, not a feminist epic. Both sides commit atrocities in this war.
@@havok6280 They did. Well, I'm not sure if it was rotten but yes the crowd were throwing fish at Alicent. What the council was trying to get through to Aemond's arrogant ass was that even though Rhanerya was the reason food was scarce and was a pretty big reason why the small folk were starving, the small folk look to their leaders to help them, to guide them, reassure them and be SEEN doing SOMETHING!!! It's not so much who's set up the blockade but more "You're our Prince Regent, you've locked us in here, trapped us, we're watching our beloved family members getting ill and slowly dying in front us. Meanwhile, you're blatantly bringing in carts filled with fresh food and other goodies to be brought up to the Red Keep for YOU!!!" "WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?" Then of course, thanks to Mysaria's brilliant plan, Rhanerya sends a small flotilla of ships to the people with HER banner as the sail and has food in each small boat. Now, the people will forget anything bad about Rhanerya (for now) and praise her for remembering them and caring about them. War is a f***** b***h. There are no losers nor winners. Just ashes, smoke, fire, and a mass of humanity in various stages of agony. Grim, I know but hey...sometimes we need to be reminded war is NOT romantic or glamorous. Hopefully, HoTD will be able to show that just enough without going overboard.
@@kateluxor2986 I spoke as a person who did experience extreme hunger growing up. So I wasn't really guessing what the smallfolk must be feeling, I survived it. Medieval European peasants did not typically throw food at their monarchs or lords during times of protest. Such direct and open acts of defiance would have been dangerous due to the severe consequences imposed by the ruling class. Peasants had very limited means of protest and often faced harsh reprisals for any form of rebellion or disrespect towards their superiors. Throwing food, which was a precious resource, would also have been impractical and wasteful for peasants who often faced scarcity. Also during such crises, monarchs and lords were typically well-protected and less accessible to common people. Peasants would have had limited opportunities to confront them directly and throw food at them (which even then it's not likely to happen for the reasons mentioned above). No, the show clearly wants to pin it on the Greens alone, more specifically Aemond. That scene in the small council was Larys telling the audience that even though it's Rhaenyra's decision to blockade the city, it's HIS responsibility to feed them. Thus it's also the audience's conclusion from how the show framed Rhaenyra to be a borderline a saint in this season and the Greens villains (Just watch the reaction channels' reaction to when Aemond says that it's Rhaenyra is starving them). Mark my word, each crime Rhaenyra did in this war will be either written off or framed in a way that delegates the responsibility to the Greens or the men in her council. I wouldn't be surprised if they make Jace betray her just in preparation for that. This is because this show took an anti-war story and turned into a feminist epic, in almost every episode they remind you that women would have made more peaceful and wiser rulers (Hilary Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Golda Meir, Wu Zeitan, Elizabeth Bathory, Bloody Mary, Isabella of Castille, etc?) And so they either write off team black women's crimes or pin them on other men. Rhaenys stomping on hundreds of innocent civilians in the dragonpit was depicted as a girl boss moment. This is why I'm concerned for the future of this show, and wished the viewers were more critical towards the showrunners.
Watching reactions of several creators and seeing some of the outrageous scores/reviews on these episodes, you can tell who's REALLY a fan of ASOIAF and who the visitors are
@MugShotzReacts Definitely the real ones, no doubt about it. I'm enjoying the reactions of the 2 sweet summer children who you invited into ASOIAF, season 4 is the best!
This series is completely rewrites the book. They made Alicent and Cole much worse and Rhaynera too good. Also they completely changed Aegon who was capable ruler and dragon rider and he never raped anyone, Helaena was normal person, Aemond never betrayed his brother. Blood and cheese were going exactly for Jaehaerys not Aemond. Daemon and Rhaynera never felt bad about it
We saw a sort of "interest" between Rhaenyra and Alicent in season one, perhaps one-sided on Rhaenyra's part, so it sort of makes sense to me that she would seek emotional solace in Mysaria, which would then potentially turn physical.
People say that but I saw nothing but friendship between the two. People see what they want to see. That said, I saw chemistry between Rhaenrya and Mysaria all season.

Watching reactions of several creators and seeing some of the outrageous scores/reviews on these episodes, you can tell who's REALLY a fan of ASOIAF and who the visitors are
What are we?!
@MugShotzReacts Definitely the real ones, no doubt about it. I'm enjoying the reactions of the 2 sweet summer children who you invited into ASOIAF, season 4 is the best!
so because you didnt personally predict it, it "came out of nowhere"? absurd.
On first watch I didn’t see anything romantic between them so yes it felt like it came out of no where!
@@MugShotzReacts how could you not see it?
Rhaenyra got hot from that daddy story... she wants her to tell her more.
👀
This series is completely rewrites the book. They made Alicent and Cole much worse and Rhaynera too good. Also they completely changed Aegon who was capable ruler and dragon rider and he never raped anyone, Helaena was normal person, Aemond never betrayed his brother. Blood and cheese were going exactly for Jaehaerys not Aemond. Daemon and Rhaynera never felt bad about it
Don’t you think that the “history” really boils them down to how they were remembered overall? I can see Rhaenyra becoming more brutal for sure
@@MugShotzReacts Rhaenyra is too white washed in the show.. she became boring now while in books she was an interesting flawed character
@@havok6280 Well, speaking as much as I can for the sapphic community - it was pretty blatant for us! We just flirt differently, I suppose.
You don't compliment a lady's sword lightly, after all.
It’s not even the kiss it’s how it came like she just told her she got sexually assaulted then like omg ima kiss you that just felt like a setup to me like she wants her favor for a bigger reason
@@havok6280Thats a typically friendship between girls like I saw a thousand times. People who claims there would be a tention, only wants to see it. Despite the fact that book rhaenyra was not even close to bisexually. Even daenerys had woman pleasure her and she was not bi, but rhaenyra never did even made a flinch to be bi. I Wonder If it has Something to do with the "nonbinary" lesbian actor who plays her. I mean making a house which supposed to be of the whitest group that exists (valyrians) to blacks screams for wokeness. Despite the fact that Corlys is killing it ^^ (positiv)

What a sad boyfriend or a bad choice, I guess you fell in love with him because of that big place.
What?
