The dragon in the Vale isn't Balerion, as Balerion has been dead for quite some time now. We saw his skull in Season 1. He was Viserys's dragon, and the largest in history.
Thank you for clarifying without spoiling who the dragon actually is. I CRINGED internally when they asked if it was Balerion because I just KNEW fellow book readers would come in and over explain. I love these books to death, they're my favourite, but some book fans are really out here spoiling stuff for newer fans and it drives it me insane.

is funny people are complaining about deamon in harrenhal so long. Is been my favorite part so far. up until now we only got to see his mask. never truly getting to see him for what he is and the weight of his actions. i cried at that 1st scene with viserys. deamon tried so hard to be seen by his brother only to realize after he is gone all he had to do was put his pride to the side an just be there for his brother.
So many Easter eggs were in this episode, book fans know what I’m talking about. Also, the last 2 episodes are gonna be good. I can’t wait for the reactions to the craziness.
Remember The Song of Ice and Fire is complete so the show writers have the full story to work with. The GOT books ended at the last episode of season 5. They had to finish the rest using only a rough outline. Still waiting for the next book!!
I agree with you HotD is better in my eyes than GoT (TV serie wise) it just look and feel even more palpable ! For the slow parts, I agree also, Daemon sequences are becoming very long, and this season overall feels quite 'slow' but that the blueprint of Game Of Thrones, this series knows to take it's time (something that clearly lack to some other tv showsà and sometimes we can get 'bored' because of it, but I also think that these moments were everything is slowing down is to make tragic/epic moments even more impactful !
the lannister army requesting aemond and vhagar for battle could be an issue, esp w/aemond as king regent. after rook's rest, it's like, why should soldiers go full head on into battle when the dragon can do most of the work? if i were a solider, i'd be asking that, especially since the dragons have entered the war. even though aegon and aemond are awful, i have to keep in mind that alicent was made a mother at a young age with no guide. for her to hear that her youngest son, daeron, turned out as a decent person gives some hope that she did something right as a mother, which was sending him away to not turn out like his brothers. still, alicent made terrible decisions, allowing aegon to do whatever he wants and covering up his crimes and her not being emotionally connected to her children. daemon is literally dealing w/his past in order to face his present. the visions do serve a purpose for his character development, while setting up for future events. seasmoke had been trailing addam for a few episodes so, he sensed who his new rider would be, even if addam had no idea. plus, addam shares blood with laenor through corlys. seasmoke was probably like, they're forcing new riders on me now, i need to go get the rider i'm supposed to have.
Rheanyra made a mistake going for “nobility” over the Blood of the Dragon. It’s the bastards they should be searching for. Not some noble with 1/70th blood of the dragon.
Adam of Hull and Sir Steffon Darklyn probably have close to the same amount of Targaryen blood in them. 1-2 generations different. Sir Steffon probably would have been successful had he been more confident.
@@Ultimate0ne i second this! Steffon was way too cautious, which seasmoke rejected. I also think seasmoke sensed Adam due to him havving the same blood to Laenor. Super cool!
Uhh Balerions skull was on display and talked about in season 1. Lol. C’mon guys. The dragons aren’t that hard to recognize. The one in the Vale is one we havent heard about before on the show. Balerion, Aegon the Conquerors mount, the last dragon that saw Valyria before the doom. Died shortly after King Viserys took him to mount. Syrax, Rheanyras dragon, a compact bronze dragon Caraxes, Daemons mount , red, moody, long neck, deformed legs Vhagar, Aemonds dragon, the largest alive, greenish, flying Godzilla Vermax, Jace’s teen dragon Seasmoke, Baela’s dragon Vermithor and Silverwing the dragons of King Jahearys and Queen Alyysane, we saw Jahearys in the first scene of s1. Seasmoke, Leonors dragon…
And the skull we see in Dragonstone is possibly Meraxes the Dragon belonging to Queen Rhaenys Targaryen, sister-wife of Aegon the first and Meraxes was said to be larger than Vhagar at the time she flew into battles with Vhagar and Balerion.
Omg Allicent did far from her best and has been an awful.mother to all her kids, especially Aegon. She ruined them, neglected them, lwft them to the wet nurses. When she was with them all she did was fill them with hate and paranoia for Rhaenyra and her sons. She made them literally fear their sisters rule and resent her & their nephews. Allicent karma is finally coming after all she did to Rhaenyra. The gods even cut her arm just like she did to Rhaenyra's arm in s1e07.
The dragon wandering the Vale is most likely Sheepstealer, a wild dragon from the books that was originally bonded with a young bastard girl named Nettles. However, since they chose to exclude Nettles from the show they're clearly giving him to Rhaena. Apparently she'll play a bigger role in the war than originally surmised. The bigger issue is that Aegon III's dragon Stormcloud is still so small, meaning that a certain catastrophe is likely far off still, unless we get an abrupt time jump. Essentially, Aegon III will be targeted by the Triarchy (whom Prince Regent Aemond is wanting to rally against the Seasnake) and Stormcloud will manage to save him by carrying him back to Dragonstone before it succumbs to its injuries. This infuriates Jace who ends up doing something he definitely shouldn't do, but I won't spoil. Either way, with how much they're retconning that side of the story, even us book readers are starting to wonder what the f will happen lol.
