The final moments of the legendary June 8 1995 tag match in which they destroyed Misawa to the point where Kobashi had to cover his body to stop the brutality was some of the best heel work in wrestling history.
Taue looks like the bloodhound of the Holy Demon Army. Like, Kawada probes the opposing team and singles out a weak point and before anyone else reacts, Taue is already in the ring to swarm that weak point.
Man, this stuff takes me back. As usual with your videos, my dude. It took me some time to learn to love Taue back in the day. He didn't seem to have to natural athleticism that the other All Japan cornerstones had and at first glance felt like someone who was just dragged along for the ride. Only after repeated watching would I realize his amazing charisma and the amount of skill he displayed between the ropes. He was an amazing performer. A true icon of the sport and someone whose impact is always severely underrated. Their first victory and title win as a tag was one of my fav moments in All Japan history. Now excuse me, I'll drown myself in memories and sentimentality now.
This is really amazing, my knowledge about 1990s AJPW is basically limited to the Four Pillars, Jumbo Tsuruta and Masanobu Fuchi, but this was awesome to see the rivalry and then alliance of Taue and Kawada.
Hans Meier if you see this please contact me. I used to watch part one of the history of njpw, but UA-cam apparently took it down. Can you please upload it another place?
Wow, this reminds me of my first time watching the 1995 tag match between Kawada & Taue vs. Misawa & Kobashi. I was totally stunned. Still one of the best matches I've ever seen.
Hey Hans! I know you keep getting asked but do you still have the files for the History of NJPW series you made? Im glad pt 2 and 3 are still up but god damn, pt 1 and 4 are legendary work by you. I showed my friends those videos who are now NJ fans themselves. Any chance you can have the files in a drive for download?
Making a friend out of an enemy is one of the biggest accomplishments in life, and these two men are living proof of that.

The legend is back? One of the only good things of 2020 so far
