    From the youngest of ages I was taught to follow a traditional path, but it never felt right. So at an age when many of my peers were settling down and having kids, I walked away from my cushy life and found the mountains, and for the first time, life stopped feeling like a constant struggle. Then, when many of my peers were sending their kids off to school, I became a Wilderness Ranger for one of our most beloved national parks, and for the first time, life was filled with a sense of adventure, passion, purpose, and meaning. For a few years, life was better than I'd ever dared to hope, incomparably better than I have words for. Then my ankle figuratively and literally died. Now, I can neither access the places that brought me peace, nor can I work the job that brought me meaning. It's been... hard. But thanks to some videos such as yours, for the first time in months, I've started again feeling things like curiosity, intrigue, and optimism. Thank you.

    I remember my first time riding in snow. I thought, "I have a mountain bike with big tyres, it'll be perfect for snow!" and then proceeded to nearly eat it about 3 minutes into the ride. 😂
    Looks like it was worth it for that scenery!

    The climb into Big Bear was one of the weirdest climbs of my life when I was on the PCT. It was like 50 miles from Cabazon to the highest altitude. My Husband and I took 2 days to do the climb, and went through this weird rollercoaster of emotions. We walked along water the whole time, which was weird coming from 100 mile stretches with no water. The emotional ups and downs felt truly supernatural, and we didn't acknowledge them in the moment. It was only when we were reflecting on our last stretch. We went from crying in 100 degree heat, to being delirious, hiking at 8pm in 30 degrees singing uptown girl. Nature can do crazy things!
    Oh, the memories. I was really brought back in this video.

    8:50 - "yep, it's the real deal. This is steep." // and yet, what does Ryan do? He pulls out a camera, holds it one hand while the other balances his body on the bike frame to crank out the power to climb. You amaze me Ryan. Loved this one! It looked very challenging in the changing conditions: hot, cold, rocks, gravel, pavement, wet. I suspect some of those trails are pretty trashed from our recent rains but the wildflowers should be nuts this spring. It’s nice to see a tour like that in my back yard (Long Beach). Your editing is terrific and the length of your posts is perfect.

Once again, watching you on another great bike trip with all the beautiful scenery makes one forget for a moment about all the bad stuff in the world. Fact check: 99.9% of people are good? Yeah I have the same problem, it's not coming up in my Subs list or indicating a new video by Ryan.
      Fix this YT, ASAP

    Another awesome video Ryan. I watch all your videos from here in the UK with my 8yr old daughter - a Sunday evening post-bath tradition 😊. She asked me “what’s the difference between a crashie and a whammy?” And you know what I don’t know!!… over to you 🤔

    • @duzer
      @duzer  2 роки тому +2

      Awe!! What a fun tradition. Give your daughter a high five from Crazy Uncle Duzer!! A whammy is anything crazy and unexpected…maybe a swarm of killer bees, or a tornado…or a sinkhole appearing out of nowhere :) you get the drift.

    Man, is seems like you experienced all 7 seasons in 9 days! Great video/series, thank you! I'm a super social person and always worry that I'll go crazy bike-packing alone, but these videos are truly inspiring. Going with others is always fun, but it seems to me like you begin to discover so much more about yourself when you go it alone. I'm gonna get out and do it! Thanks, Ryan.

    Hi Ryan, my wife and I love your videos and adventures, we were wondering if you have ever riden or thought of riding the river to river trail in Southern Illinois we read about it years ago but were never able to ride it ourselves, it might make for a good video. Keep up the great work be good and maybe I'll bump into you on another Ragbrai some day.
