- Exactly six decades after it first arrived, hundreds gathered for a heartfelt homecoming at the town's airport to watch it return. David Zura explains how it was made possible and for how long it will stay in the town.
V R A, I do LOVE❤ YOU, so !! My favourite Warbird from the Fabulous and Unique, C.W.H. Museum, in Mount Hope, Hamilton Airport, Ontario, Canada ❣❣ Roland Singh, Canada 🇨🇦
Canada having 1 of the only 2 airworthy "Lancs" is crazy amazing!
Well done Canada! The Lanc's one of the world's great aircraft, in fact during WW2 it was taking so long to get the bugs out of the B-29 the US Army Air Force was giving serious thought to having Lancasters built under license here in the US, they were THAT impressed with it!
Great time to bring this plane back . To celebrate the100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Force .
That’s a great story. There are several Lancasters under restoration currently including “Just Jane” in England being restored to airworthiness, making three flyable aircraft.
Is the other Lancaster bomber still in Calgary? It used to be by the airport up on stilts when I was a kid.
Is the Lancaster that was on a pedestal in Jackson Park in Windsor, Ontario still there? If not, is it being restored to airworthiness or at least museum quality? I've been out of Windsor for 28 1/2 years, so I don't know if it's still there or not.
It is being restored, but if anything, only to be able to taxi at most.
