The easiest thing you can try to make you positive is just placed a 'Peace lily ' to your dark room or corner. It can purified the air and also promotes restful sleep.
I'm obsessed with Live Trends pots! Bought plants just so I could have their pots. Lol
Many plants seen here are great for houseplants not needing extra humidity or special growing conditions but some of these plants shown by wholesalers like aglaonema pictum tricolor and calathea Fusion are best in a terrarium or grow tent. Monolena is in the melastomataceae family not epiphyllum family.
@16:26 that's so true about alocasia. Once I figured that out I went from one polly to now owning 8 different alocasia!

I actually got my Alocasia Melo at my local Walmart it was $25 and it came with beautiful plant stand and 7 leaves and one is coming out so soon it will be 8 😍
I am here for the camo looking like plants, also seems like this is the Alocacia year , lot of beautifull species (the spider mites will be in heaven )

the monolena is an ant plant; they are gorgeous, easy to grow, resilient as hell. i think i will fill up the entire 6inch pot by next summer. the caudex grows FAST. i actually got mine at a flower shop; the owner said she rarely sees them. i highly recommend it as a plant, i got mine for $45

Thanks for showing the video of the exhibition. Actually I saw a lot of those plants showcased are abundant in Indonesia and they are endemic from this country. So the prices are very cheap. Some plants prices only about 1 or 2 dollar only. Those allocasia ,philodendron, rhododendron, anthurium, calladium with many varieties are everywhere in Indonesia.

Wow! Great video Ashley! Thanks! Everybody's really pushing those dragon scale allocacia, aren't they? I have found them to be very difficult, personally. Those, the cupria and the quilted allocacia seem to need a little more humidity than I can provide indoors. I know that grow tents are an option but I want to be able to see my plants and enjoy them.
Same. I only buy plants that can survive in my home, in the open, where I can see them, display them and enjoy them all day. I don’t think I’ll ever get a grow tent. I just don’t see the point in having a grow tent where the plants are sequestered behind plastic, unable to be seen. My Alocasia absolutely thrive in the summer when they can be on my porch, then they just barely hold on throughout the winter until they can go back outside. They are difficult as a house plant for sure.
Agree with you both!! One of my spare bedrooms has a west facing window and a skylight which could easily be turned into a plant room - what would I do? Stand/sit in the middle of the room and stare at my plants? As I live in Scottsdale, Arizona where humidity is extremely low, have had humidifiers in my home for 15+ years for personal comfort so getting a couple more for my plants was not a big deal - beneficial for all concerned. Like lots of leaves and abundant foliage - so, if you lose a leaf or two it’s just part of plant life not a catastrophic tragedy of epic proportions.
U kidding me? (soo beautiful) I can get ALL those Alocasias in the EU, just a ”click” away (not mainstream, but still). Unfortunately, I got winter so I have to wait… and they may sell out… I also got Dieffenbachia ’Cool beauty’ for over six months now, I recommend it, though it loses the center variegation over time the edges stay white.

I thought I had seen it in one of your videos on the tpie but after watching through them again I think i saw it on a Reddit forum … buuutt have you heard at all about Costa farms releasing a chameleon zz plant??? … I am from a small city in Canada so I was shocked to find and had to scoop up but am still in disbelief I see a random mention of it on Costa farms website but otherwise cannot find any info on this variety I need some confirmation that I didn’t just get super duped with an extremely sickly zz plant 🤣🤣

I’m really surprised that alocasias stole the show! Over here anthuriums and their hybrids are taking off.
@@onlyplants alocasia don't really excited me. Anthuriums and philodendrons comprise 75%of my collection. I have tunnel vision about them. They're pretty much all I look for.
