Proving the guys could sing live and not just a novelty act the music was superb disco music really high qaulity music produced so well it warms your heart
Y’all complaining about Miles Jay should go listen to his song I’ve Been A Fool. Also do you think Teddy P would’ve been his mentor if he couldn’t sing? ijs...
It's still weird about what happened to his voice on this performance. Because when he going solo, He's one of the best R&B singer that I love to listened 🙂
I think they’re complaining about Miles doing this BECAUSE they’ve heard and love “I’ve Been a Fool” and “Wildflower”. It’s like coming home from school early and finding your Dad in Mommy’s best sunday dress.
We've got LOTS of this today, if you mean people using backing tracks for all their instruments and backing vocals, and fooling people into thinking they are really singing.
Thanks for posting this rare footage first time I've seen Miles Jaye and heard him his lead singer very interesting he definitely has a deeper voice. very cool
@jondunmore4268 that's a dumb take bc they're singers and performers, not musicians. They wouldn't be able to do the choreography if they played instruments
@@Dr.ZoidbergPhD Sure, but so did Willis back then! Willis simply had an extraordinary voice as well as creative songwriting ability. It's a shame that addiction derailed his VP career so early. I know he is back with a revamped VP ensemble, but at his age now, it's a kind of sad, truly.
wonder who's the lead vocalist here? it's not ray, not victor, ??? ah it's a new guy ... Miles Jaye...like in New York City, it was also a different guy... well, miles seems to be catching his breath here. He's great in his jazz & R&B, though.
Victor Willis (the original singer) and Ray Stephens (2nd singer) both were cops. They were always cops, but for the video of 'In the Navy', both Victor and Alexander (the soldier) wore Navy outfits
Great shame. Never knew him or much about him. He seemed nice though. Apparently, in 1979. People Magazine voted him as one of the worlds most beautiful persons. How right they were.
I think he really is poking fun at the lead singer Mr. Myles Jaye. For portions of this video Glenn appears to be not where he is meant to be. At about 3:57 he can be seen standing next to Myles and making a choking gesture, with his fingers in his mouth, indicating vomit inducement.
0:29 -- I especially like that large horn section onstage that is creating so much of this signature tune. 1:38 -- And I want to buy some of those powerful microphones that can pick up their clapping no matter where onstage they are away from the microphones. 2:18 -- And I especially like those microphones that provide the clapping for them when they are NOT EVEN CLAPPING DURING THE CHORUSES. Overall, the band behind them did a great job, considering all the music is on backing tracks, as well as the backing vocals. What a shitshow this is. And Jacques Morali has been selling this duplicitous shit for decades.
🤭 MILES JAYE IS LITERALLY MY FATHER, BY BIRTH. ALTHOUGH I AM AN ALLY, THOUGHT I'D POP BY AND LET YOU KNOW HE IS IN FACT STRAIGHT. OKAY, TOODALOUUUUUUUU! ✊🏽🤗❤️🖤💚👑✨
No sé cómo hay personas que no le gusta esta música
Glenn Hughes, what a man!
Glenn Hughes died from HIV… I saw him leaving the MINE SHAFT in NYC on many occasions

Had no Idea Miles Jaye was once part of the Village people.

Any relationship of David & Mark?
Fine Ass Miles Jaye!!
This footage is from the TV show "El Show de las Estrellas" in Bogota, Colombia, in 1981
The year is 1983, actually.
Originally it was in 1981 in The Show de las Estrellas, but it was replayed in the new tv show "El Show del Recuerdo" in 1983.
@@danielnrq No, it’s 1983, the line up is the 4th line up (82-83)
We need more of this today. Very important thank you Village People
We've got LOTS of this today, if you mean people using backing tracks for all their instruments and backing vocals, and fooling people into thinking they are really singing.
El barbudo espectacular.

Dulce su voz d Alejandro
He was a better solo singer.
Finally a back up band
Yeh, next they should have a backing band THAT ACTUALLY PLAYS and doesn't have all their music on backing tracks.
@jondunmore4268 that's a dumb take bc they're singers and performers, not musicians. They wouldn't be able to do the choreography if they played instruments
Victor Willis' voice puts this guy's to shame.
I think he was struggling to do the choreography and sing at the time. It's tough work!

The new members !!!
All lead singers never was gay loved the village people

I think Ray was the singer for the Sex over the Phone album (which has New York City on it as a single)
Not many original village PEOPLE IN THIS GROUP..BOB IN CINCINNATI OHIO
3/6
Where is Victor Willis
He left in late 1979. Victor is my favorite member all the time. And the original members. I miss them
The original “In The Navy” the lead singer should wear a admiral costume. But Jaye was wearing a cop costume 😢
Victor Willis (the original singer) and Ray Stephens (2nd singer) both were cops. They were always cops, but for the video of 'In the Navy', both Victor and Alexander (the soldier) wore Navy outfits
None of lead singers was gay at ,The Village People was my group still is.
Have you heard their song 'Get away Holiday'? That should have been a single release.
Yeah right
Only 2 members was gay so far but not all of em

Was myles jaye in the village people or not because people saying he wasn't in the group was he or not?
What's Glenn doing @ 4:10 lol.......he's funny....
Ol' sexy Glenn up to some shennanigans!!!!
Well.... Didn't look to macho to me, but still, Glenn is always good fun and nice to look at!!......I think he was poking fun at Myles.

Wrong lyrics when Miles Jaye singing “YMCA”
🇨🇴🏳️🌈
Dez
what is the name of this boy who made the cawboy?
Jeff Olson, he took over from original Randy Jones in late 80 early 81
Tabajara
Their voices sound very bad ,is the sound of the recording going wrong or it was very bad singed ?
The worse singing of this song ever. Takes the life out of the song and destroys it.
Because of Miles Jaye
Ese cantante de la primera vez no pasa nada
Si nome equiboco ese no es el verdadero vocalista es una cuchufleta
😂😂😂

this singer is not a patch on Victor Willis.
I know I’m biased in favor of the original lineup, but this totally sucks. 😂😂
Sorry that was NOT the Village People.
Felipe, Glenn and Alex were all original members. Miles (lead singer/cop), Jeff (cowboy) and Mark (construction worker) were all replacements.
Sadly, this lead singer is fucking shit up big time. Such a wrong fit if I ever saw and heard one. What a joke.
Village people were history when Victor Willis left and I'd love to know why, they were right at there peak
Mark Lee, was great. Miles Jaye? Man oh man! What a disaster.
Miles Jaye sucks. Mark Lee can never move like David did.
tf
I love Victor and Ray
What a joke Miles Jaye, singing with VP, and singing this song. So wrong so bad so horrible.
He sang the wrong lyrics of YMCA in the last part
LGBTTQ , 😂 Tienen más variantes que el COVI
