no doubt the narration is a voice model or someone who got paid to read a script without being made conscious of pronouncistion

MX Linux and Linux Mint Debian Edition STILL support 32bit OSes...this is MAJOR for me... I love this! Because you can still make old 32bit computers SUPER useful with the latest apps. I think THAT is better and cheaper than a Raspberry Pi and alot easier to deal with and an Old laptop already has everything...keyboard, mouse, screen, speakers etc vs a Pi you gotta spend more money on and STILL mostly doesnt function better than an old 32bit laptop unless it comes to HD video and gaming.

I think this video is mostly wrong. There isn't anything inherent about MX that makes it be at the top, it's just that the DistroWatch algorithm heavily favors already being at the top, making it nearly impossible to dethrone whoever ends up there.

Not just the algorithm, it's the natural inclination of most people to go for what's presumed to be popular. Crowded restaurants attract more customers than empty ones. It would be better for all at the end if most of these distros would cease to exist and their best features to be incorporated as options in a major, definitive distro in the future. We have standards for many things now, every car pretty much works similarly, using gas-brake-clutch pedals and a steering wheel. Minor things like how the lights are operated can change but signals, wipers, window switches are almost all identical despite the cars being so different from each other. If Linux could provide a consistent environment for users who aren't thrown around by massive changes from distro to distro and could simply find easy solutions to their problems as a result of more people providing solutions or bug reports, I'm certain it would have gained a much wider market share by now. IBM used to support red hat Linux back in the day and most thinkpads operated flawlessly out of the box with RH but that was because it was the de-facto standard in business oriented Linux circles. I'm not against individual distros so long as there's a benchmark and a base standard for most users and maybe MX can evolve to become that.

I have been using MX Linux since version 18 and agree with everything you say about it in your video. MX is solid, stable and full of useful tools and ease of use. Thanks for an interesting and informative video.

Tried it many times but could not get it to boot in full screen mode in virtualbox. It seems it does not support 1920x1080 which is stupid. Pity because its very good distro.

As a casual Linux user, i find MX to be really well thought out and functional. I'm not a gamer and i don't have a desire to constantly tinker

I tried to install MX on a newer GeoBooks Pro 240 and it crashed my bios. I can still access my bios, and I see that MX was installed but I just can't seem to book into the OS. The opening screen at boot up is an error warning that OS can't post. I had Zorin 16.3 running on it reasonably well.

Always do a backup to usb thumb drive. There is free cloning software. Then you could have gone back to the working OS but now you can't. So you went --> something tested + working --> something completely untested + unworking. Newer doesn't always mean better.

Sorry but there are several distros that are way better than MX Linux, Manjaro which is an Arch based distro is waaay better and several others like Ubuntu do not even belong in the top 10 because it is so broken right now...

Lol. An ai voice telling us which distro is the best. No thanks. Pretty big red flag there. I'm researching linux to find out which one to use and i need advice from actual human beings that use it.
