First rule of veterinary medicine is Do No Harm! This “veterinarian” didn’t learn the rules. He should lose his license to practice for this alone. But to lie about his certification to clients also should be criminal. Please people do a little research on these so called doctors whether they are for yourself or your pet. Saves a lot of grief and heartburn for you.
This happens too often bc pets are viewed as property so vets avoid getting sued based on limited damages. But people are wising up that doing this saves not just their dog but other dogs too from malpractice. No animal should suffer and it’s time for vet clinics to be checked.
Few years ago I had my two dogs boarded there in carlsbad mohnacky upon picking them up was told one hadn't had her bath yet. Later that day I was informed that when they opened up that morning my dog was loose running around I asked how did she get out of her kennel they said she torn threw the bars I thought no way so I asked to see the kennel they told me they threw it away very fishy to me not a good place I also had a friend who worked at their vista location and said they are ALL about the money
We asked how much a surgery would cost for glaucoma. Our vet told us it was astronomical. He said is she still getting around and she was so he said, save your money. Our vet never pushes unnecessary stuff and his prices are what people can actually afford. Wish more doctors were like him.
@@copperhopperwarren4788 that is a rare type of glaucoma and is an er surgery, it is sudden onset with pressure on the eye. She had the kind that got worse over time with little pain if any. She was a real drama queen so if she was hurting everyone knew lol

@@minnaw1009 our dog had Addisons disease. She had shots every 20-30 days. She received the best care available. When she couldn't get up to eat or drink we did what all responsible pet owners do. If I worked in that clinic, the SECOND I realized he wasn’t a board certified surgeon, I’d have gone to the board without hesitation. I know how much goes into becoming a board certified specialist in anything. It’s ALOT. And no one who hasn’t done all the requirements should ever be referred to as board certified or specialist. I’d have called him out and called the board of vet med immediately. This is unacceptable and the hospital should pay these clients back everything they spent while under the false impression they were working with a board certified specialist
Well if this is what his clinics are doing people need to know. Its not right people are spending big money on their fur babies and if this man is hurting animals people need to know
My dog's regular vet tried to do this to us. Always go get a second opinion when surgery is on the table. The specialist we went to had a completely different diagnosis and we did not need surgery at all.
Unfortunately there are vets that are unethical just like there are physicians that are unethical too. The put money ahead of patient health and care. This is the world that we live in now.
Before my dog Charger passed away, me and my brother took him to this veterinarian and all we got is continued charges for more exams and did not come to solutions for his cushions disease. That's because the only way to cure cushings is with expensive surgery and it's usually a brain surgery. It's caused by a hormone producing tumor and 90% of time it's in the brain. It's far too risky a surgery to be beneficial in the vast majority of cases (if not all). Cushings can be really hard to manage and dose adjustments can take a long time to figure out. Maybe you didn't have a good vet, but it's also possible that they did everything right. I'm sorry for your loss.
That’s absolutely disgusting!!! Horrible vet, shut him down. You can research what he saying. It’s lies. I totally feel for dog owner n her beloved dog. I hope they win…. He can receive the treatment he needs for a long life without pain.
If hes preforming surgery on animals he needs to be board certified. People assume if a vet is performing surgery on their animals that by law they are certified or they wouldn't be allowed to to it. I hope everyone who owns a pet is watching this and asks when they go to if the vet if the vet is board certified to preform surgery on their vet. This isnt right this poor dog is in pain because of ego and incompetence of this man. How many animals has this man injured

I see this a lot. When the practices are bought up by corporations or others they start pushing unnecessary procedures. I paid 3000 dollars to put my little Pomeranian in oxygen. His heart was so bad and enlarged. They gave him to me and he looked good. Within hours he was back to being unable to get enough oxygen. They knew his condition had no cure. Yet instead of letting me know they milked me for that cash. I was young and that was a lot for me. Years later I had another small dog with a bad heart. They wanted to put her in oxygen. The vet described her heart as ginormous. I asked, will she get better? She admitted, no she wouldn’t. Both of these were larger animal hospitals. And then there are the individual quack vets. I have seen a couple of those too. This would turn into a book if I wrote what I’ve seen working with animals.
I would never let someone I didn’t have an in depth conversation with operate on my dog. In this particular case I would have hone to a specialist at a university vet hospital.
Do your due diligence before any surgery on your pet just as you would a family member. I'm sorry this happened to Rocky. That Vet should be fined but until people start taking accountability.......
That is not a retriever mastiff mix..that’s cane corso..or a presario…it even had its ears cropped in the “fighting” style. Before everyone accuses vets for everything..the owner has to be responsible for post op care. Yes, this doesn’t sound good on the vets side, but there are some great vets out there! Far better than human doctors actually.
As a dog mum myself who very carefully vets and background checks my dog's veterinarians, my heart breaks for her. I hope she gets justice for Rocky. This is so common in CA. It's all about profit. Took me years of trial and error until I found a vet I could trust--and even then, I had to travel to the valley from LA.
Rocky, go get ‘em boy! Get ‘em! Take ‘em for everything you can get! I too am suffering pain for the rest of my life due to a doctor’s error. He cut my spinal cord. I limp, too, and have to use a cane to walk short distances otherwise I need a wheelchair. I hope you get their license, their business, their money, their apology, and their time in jail. Because there’s no justice for living in pain for someone else’s error. Pain management sucks. I’m sorry you’re going through this Rocky. ❤
I saw Dr Djordjevic 3 years ago in 2021 and he told me that we need surgery. My dog ended up healing on her own within a year. I am so happy I didn't agree to the surgery.
Also, since you are "fact checking" let me inform you that this dog is not a "mastiff mix" as your story says, but rather a Cane Corso. She states it on her fb posts. Big difference there. He probably has been in extra pain in addition to the leg because the owners elected to amputate half of his ears as well. This is called an "ear crop" and the only purpose to get it done is so the owners can have a "tough" looking dog. I've got an idea for a good news investigation. Maybe you should track down the dogs breeder and find out their record, and if the breeder had OFA certified hips on the mother and father. Maybe you should do an investigation on why breeders continue to offer subpar pups that have hip and stifle problems at such an early age. Bad breeders are "money grubbers" that should be held accountable but never are.
I have a German shepherd which as you know often have hip issues and other problems. The breeder I got her from provided breeding records that went back 10 generations showing that there were no genetic issues in any of her ancestry. Hips were certified and she came with a 5 yr guarantee. That’s one of the reasons I chose that breeder because they only breed for the betterment of the breed. This is why people need to do research on what breeder to buy from. And before I get slammed for buying a dog from a breeder this is the only animal I have ever gotten from a breeder in my entire life. ( I’m in my 70s) All others have been rescues including my parakeet, Bird

I feel sorry for both Stephany and Rocky, what they have gone through is horrible and the vet and the owner of the veterinarian clinic should be bared from running an animal clinic period. You could see the owner was visible quivering when talking, is that from suppressed emotions or does he have a medical issue himself. The fact he had to backtrack on what he had said about the paperwork stating the Dr was not Board certified did not go down to well with him. Instead of stating they were in the wrong he’s doubling down on covering the lies simply because he knows that to admit otherwise leaves him wide open to the law suit.

I don't know if this is ALL bs, or just partly. Never surgery for hip dysplasia 'after 6mos. old'(?), never heard that one. My cousin, who's going to vet school and works at a prominent vet clinic in OK, has a large dog, well over that age, who did have surgery on both hips, one at a time, for hip dysplasia and they both worked out well for him. It may not be recommended for every pet, but it depends on their specific health condition and how malformed the joint and socket are, as well as the condition of ligaments and tendons of said joint. And, yes, the surgery is very expensive, and so are most other vet treatments__rediculous. 😢😒 At the same time, I don't know of any pet parent who would allow someone they've never actually met put a knife to their furbaby(?)__sounds strange, to me! 😱 On another note, I find it just as 'interesting' that the employees would work for a doctor who is not board certified in the first place__that's their reputation, too! As a massage therapist I had worked for two separate chiropractors some yrs. ago and after discovering 'unscrupulous' behaviour of each, I quit after telling them why. It's difficult enough to educate people massage is a legitimate therapy without being associated with those behaviours. 😣
Okay, first of all if that dysplasia wasn't diagnosed in first few month of this dog's life it couldn't be that bad case. Second: dogs knees are close to their hips so those should be visible on X-ray even if it was done for hips.
I hope this women owns that clinic before it’s over! Poor Rocky. 🥲 he will suffer the rest of his precious life. 😭 How many other fur babies were getting needless surgery’s to fill this creepo vets pocket book! Shut Him DOWN..NOW! Arrest HIM for cruelty to animals! Praying for Rocky baby boy! 🙏
That ain’t no lab/mastiff mix. Just a straight cane corso. Giant breeds have it hard enough with joints. To be aggravated by a vet is appalling. They better lose their license.
It is not uncommon for a general veterinarian that is not board certified as a specialist to develop the skills to perform these skills, especially in rural areas such as mine where there are no specialists accessible in a reasonable area. I know several vets that are not board certified in orthopedics that are more than capable and that I would trust with my dogs The problem lies in the communication of credentials. If he calls himself a specialist, that is false advertising. Also, I have noticed that details such as the knee issues and date those were discovered, may or may not have been there at initial presentation. One has to consider that the veterinary profession is sadly one where many vets love to throw each other under the bus, especially specialists that are disgruntled by other veterinarians that do surgery but dont have the extra letters past the dvm.
Is it even legal for a technician to give anesthesia if they aren't certified? Making someone sign that disclosure should be a red flag unto itself. I'd pass on this veterinary location and go to people properly licensed.
It shouldn’t be legal but it’s common because it’s cheaper to employ non certified staff. I honestly won’t work anywhere that lets non certified staff anesthesia, give drugs esp narcotics. But I’ve seen plenty of hospitals who do this because they don’t want to pay much for staff. Pet care is expensive but when you try to cut corners disasters can happen. There is nothing safer for your pet than an experienced staff and sadly, it does cost money. I’m a CVT with tons of experience and live paycheck to paycheck. Younger people aren’t tolerating this and leaving the field early so finding staff who are competent is not easy and while I like my job it isn’t charity work, I need to pay rent
Yes because board certifications are rare and reserved for those who undergo extensive training in a specific field. Most vets do the anesthesia with their techs and it's fine. If you want a vet anesthetist you will have to go to a specialty clinic and pay a very high price. Usually owners only do that if the pet has a condition that makes anesthesia more dangerous.
The owners are the problem!!! They're uneducated as you can see this by them yanking on the dogs neck with a leash and they don't have that leash connected to a harness!!! They also let him jump out of the truck on uneven surfaces!!!
First vets are NOT required to be board certified. Like regular doctor, board certification is just additional training taken, but not required by vets or physicians. Allowing your dog to have window access that far open to jump out and cause the injury is on the owner. If the dog had hip dysplasia this could get genetic, one thing reputable breeders check before breeding. Owner should have been getting a 2nd opinion before paying out that kind of money. Yes ma'am you failed your dog in one area, giving him auto window access to jump out. Rule of thumb if the head fits thru window they can get the rest of their body out. I only have sympathy for the dog. Hope lawsuit fails. Owned, trained, showed dogs over 30 years. I could not fathom putting any one of my dogs at risk of injury, or not using a university vet for anything serious. JMHO
No, the clinic shouldn’t be false representing their staff or allowing the doctor to falsely represent themself. I agree with the second opinion, esp for orthopedics which you have time to get one(unlike a life or death surgery like a GDV)
Take his license away forever! Justice for Rocky.

This guy's a monster!!!! Infact his boss is a monster too!!!! I pray she wins !!!!! She's got the proof that her dog was left in a miserable state and not in a fixed state that vet obviously doesn't care about the dogs AT ALL especially if he's doing things that he's not supposed to be doing!!!??? . I'm for the owner I pray she wins 🍁🇨🇦🍁💔💕🐕💕💘💝
👎🤯😵💫😳😡, God Bless 🐶🙏
At the same time, I don't know of any pet parent who would allow someone they've never actually met put a knife to their furbaby(?)__sounds strange, to me! 😱
On another note, I find it just as 'interesting' that the employees would work for a doctor who is not board certified in the first place__that's their reputation, too!
As a massage therapist I had worked for two separate chiropractors some yrs. ago and after discovering 'unscrupulous' behaviour of each, I quit after telling them why.
It's difficult enough to educate people massage is a legitimate therapy without being associated with those behaviours. 😣
Yes, they literally harassed me to take my dog in for surgery. I had to block them.
This has been going on forever, nothing new. There are very few honest vets.
Not only jail Dr
Add ownertoo
Mr. Mohnacky…you are a liar!!!!!
Okay, first of all if that dysplasia wasn't diagnosed in first few month of this dog's life it couldn't be that bad case.
Second: dogs knees are close to their hips so those should be visible on X-ray even if it was done for hips.
Some cases of hip dysplasia aren't seen for quite a while and it can get bad with age, especially in a large breed.
❤❤
I hope this women owns that clinic before it’s over! Poor Rocky. 🥲 he will suffer the rest of his precious life. 😭 How many other fur babies were getting needless surgery’s to fill this creepo vets pocket book! Shut Him DOWN..NOW! Arrest HIM for cruelty to animals! Praying for Rocky baby boy! 🙏
That ain’t no lab/mastiff mix. Just a straight cane corso. Giant breeds have it hard enough with joints. To be aggravated by a vet is appalling. They better lose their license.
Poor rocky
Cane corso or presa witch is he
It's a Corso, Presa Canarios aren't supposed to have their tails docked according to breed standards
What a scum bag this guy is. He knows damn well they misguided patients.
The owners are the problem!!! They're uneducated as you can see this by them yanking on the dogs neck with a leash and they don't have that leash connected to a harness!!! They also let him jump out of the truck on uneven surfaces!!!
I would not let anyone operate on one of my babies if I had never met them.
This poor dog this is outrageous thease vets are just money hungry over the quality of really doing whats best for the dog 4:46
🙄😥
Y she lie about his breed
