Nice review as usual, Norman. That’s beautiful acrylic. Liked, subscribed, commented.
Thanks very much Zathras. I appreciate the kind words!
Thanks for the informative video. It's a joy to watch. I follow the development of Chinese-made fountain pens with great interest. It is probably a fact that some manufacturers in China remember that a high standard of quality ultimately pays off and that they don't just want to copy. The Asvine fountain pen is on my wish list. Best regards.
Thanks much Don. You'll really enjoy the Asvine I think. I argued with Hero for 20 years that they needed to up their fit and finish to appeal to the Western market. I'm very glad that several companies have now done so!
I usually go for Western , but decided to give a a try with the Asvine P20. I find it (unexpectedly) dry. I had a choice of buying an EF F M nibs/feeds for $30 to retrofit the or another pen with the nib for $40. Decided better value to buy another pen with nib. I have to say I was disappointed with the version with occasional skipping. The build quality of the pen itself, I agree with your review, excellent and the two acrylics I have / will have (Galaxy/Amber), the colours are great. BUT I am still disappointed with the performance of the nib. I look forward to trying out the nib.
Hi Kevin. As you've no doubt experienced, nibs can be highly individualistic. Increasing ink flow to a nib is the most basic adjustment that one can perform and one I think all FP users should know. I'd suggest searching here on YT, for something like 'increasing ink flow in a nib', or something similar. You'll find tons of videos detailing the procedures. Good luck.
@@HisNibs1 Quick update: The Asvine P20 Medium arrived yesterday. IMHO the Medium is a far nicer writer than the Fine. There is little to differentiate the two looking at line widths with the naked eye, but the medium is definitely smoother with a hint of feedback and puts down (again IMHO) noticeably more ink (yes I know it's a Medium) that I also cannot get to tramline even with some pressure. I will use the Fine when I need a marginally Finer line, but I can see the Amber Medium being a go to pen.
It looks like a beautiful smooth writer. I think I'd choose that blue as well as I know "d mistake the purple for my Navalhur Schuylkill.
Yes Kris. I'm very happy with the 'color' I chose. It's been my everyday shirt pocket pen since I posted the video. I really like it!
Hi I love your review and I’m way more excited because I’m getting one soon by the way I subbed joined and liked ❤
Thanks so much for the kind words Crystal2261....and for obeying all the 'commands'. 😉 I think you'll really enjoy your pen! Which color did you choose?
@@normanhaase9400 ocean blue cuz it’s my fav color :)
That's still my favorite of the 11 options!
I have several piston fillers than the piston doesn't go all the way to or beyond the ink window. It's aggravating because I can't get a complete fill without repeat attemts which invariably ends up wasting some ink and getting it on my fingers.1.5 ml. is standard for an ink capacity. 1.8 ml.-2.0 ml. would be a very generous ink supply. It's a gorgeous pen though and I have it on my list.
Hi Teresa (my wife's spelling of her name, BTW). Did you ever pick up the P20?
@@HisNibs1 yes, and now I have four of them.
