  • Hi! I'm Kelly, an American mom living in Denmark. In this video, I tell you the funny things that my family experienced when going back to the USA after 2 1/2 years away due to corona. This really shows how my kids are becoming more Danish than American! :) Are you living outside your home country? Let me know about your reverse culture shocks in the comments!

"Why is it not so pretty here?" 😂 Your son has high expectations for those long, mundane roads haha.

I really enjoy your videos, Kelly 😊 as a Dane moving back to Denmark after 14 years in the US, I recognize many things from your videos. Funny how you see your own country with different eyes after being gone. As a vegan myself I can attest to the struggle avoiding cheese on everything in the US 😁 although I definitely feel that there is a greater variety of vegan/vegetarian options in the US restaurants. It’s often a struggle here.

I moved from Ohio to Danmark in 2006, I miss the definite seasonal changes and I miss the snow and cold of winter. Here the seasons just sort of meld together.

Thanks Kelly! Missed you ;). Enjoyed this post. Funny you should mention the cheese on just about everything in USA. It makes me crazy that chefs can’t be more creative! I am lactose intolerant and cannot eat cheese, milk, ice cream, etc. However, in Denmark I can eat all dairy products even ice cream and have no digestive issues! I wonder why? I assume the Danish products are not as processed or maybe different type of cows?? Take care-

I'm originally from the Chicago area, and as a kid we took a few car trips to Florida to visit my grandparents. Once on the way back, when we hit Indiana, we begged to drive back to Florida cuz we thought it was that boring 🤣

Hi. I really enjoy your videos. If I visit to learn about hygge and that lifestyle for families and schools, what would you suggest I do to learn that? I’d come in the summer so visiting a school probably wouldn’t work. Thx!

Du bliver mere og mere dansk. Et tydeligt bevis er tendensen til at mixe dit sprog og blande ord som hyldeblomst og rundstykker ind i din ellers engelsk sproget video... :)

Haven't seen all your videos. (I know, shame on me. Hahah...) - But i wonder, what sort of culture shocks you and your family encounter when it comes to food in the US vs Denmark ??
