Who cares what that bitter, sore loser does. I lost every ounce of respect I had for Hagler after he whined and cried after losing to Sugar Ray. A true champ doesn't make excuses and cry foul in defeat. You should be ashamed too for still carrying a torch for such a pitiful sportsman. You're just a Leonard hater who's watching this for no other reason than to relish in seeing a man well past his prime and shadow of his former self get beaten up. Shameful....
IMO this KO against feather-fisted Camacho was a blessing in disguise for SRL. Otherwise he may have continued and god knows how many punches he would've taken. Now, SRL is one of the healthiest and wealthiest ex-boxers. Besides, who cares he never won the IBC middleweight title?
In the early part of his career Hector DID have power and wasn’t afraid of using it, it’s just that after the Rosario fight he became a defensive fighter. RIP Champ!
Some losers said Camacho was six years younger, but you got to admit that Camacho gave Leonard his first and last knockout and stop whining. Leonard now retires with a big spot in his career and the first knock out ever. So long for his show off business.
I say it was poetic justice for Leonard not giving Hagler a rematch. Leonard heavily criticized Mayweather for having a rematch with Pacquiao. But, like the hypocrite he was, he never gave Hagler a second fight. I guess we know why.
Sugar Ray Leonard was at full strength before his first fight with Hearns. After this fight the retina detached from his eye and he withdrew and returned at an ups and downs pace and in many fights the judges eased him when he didn't deserve it. e.g. in the clash with Marvin Hagler who was about to go down in the last round and you could see Hagler's superiority and the judges let Leonard win when he didn't deserve it; or in the second clash with Hearns who had been knocked down 2 times and Leonard was trailing by 3 points and the judges decreed an undeserved draw. So in this fight he deservedly lost and proved he wasn't up to it!
I've always felt if anything the Hagler Leonard fight should've been a draw at best for Leonard and then of course Tommy got robbed in their second fight .
It's really the same thing since the injured (sore) calf shows that his body cannot withstand the type of training that is necessary to compete at the highest level
