Well then Robbie good show ole chap I am 65 and have been Racing some 46 years .Rodger Decoster , Jimmy Weinert and a few otbers would hasten your point but nonetheless Cheers good fellow and be careful ,sincerely Mac
Thanks. I never noticed the markers all the way down. I have a feeling that they were maybe already at the lower part of the forks as I do not recall the forks bottoming out. You're correct at having to get the suspension set up properly for my weight as the rear is quite hard. It's something iv'e been think about getting done for a while.
I visited the dealer yesterday to collect my exhaust and noticed all the superdukes on the shop floor had most of the markers at the bottom section of the forks like mine shows in the video. A couple had them showing half way up the forks so I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that's how they come from the factory and mine were all the way down from day one.
@@Robbiemoto of course all of them looks cool but to me this Version is too long like the tanky and the now it's too low the sharp edges are way lower and way too long for me also the trellis frame is not nice to me the earlier generation was nicer also the taillights is nicer
If you use IPhone remember to get the vibrationdampener from SP connect or you will end up breaking the camera on the phone 😁 I also ride the gen 3, and LOVE it 😁 nice vid mate 😁
Cheers for the heads up anyway mate. A friend of mine uses the SP connect on his mountain bike and he told me about them, also I read about them breaking the camera on the iPhone 11's. Mines a 10 but I wasn't going to risk it and bought the dampener as well.
How do you like the bike mate? You are more than welcome to take a look at what I have done to mine on my channel 😁 I have put about 4.500mils on mine and LOVE it 😁
Actually I have seen your channel, I'm sure i subscribed but I'll double check. I love the bike. Probably only real niggle I have is very little feedback when you apply and the indicators on and off. I would like more of a feel from the buttons when wearing bike gloves but apart form that it's all good. I'm used to an inline 4 engine and going to a v twin set up took a little getting used to but all is good now. I've done a little over 1000 miles
Yes the indicator sucks, I got mine chanced after the menu switch stopped working. After that it feels a little better with a little more feel, so maybe they chanced something in it 😁 Also got the recall done when they fixed it 😁
I find it's ok. The can was ordered when I ordered the bike so 3 weeks the same as you. The dealer ordered it. They phoned Austin Racing whilst I was there when I took the bike in for a service and said the can would be here by the end of the week. Obviously that hasn't happened. Hoping it will be early next week.
I don't find it any more padded than the stock seat but it doesn't slope down towards the tank. It's slightly raised up and rounded off to the sides, so your balls aren't pushed up towards the tank. I found the stock seat to be surprisingly quite comfortable. I only got the ergo seat because of the angled front end to it and the orange sides. Also was part of the £2k extra's deal the dealer gave or else I probably wouldn't have bothered. It's not too badly priced either at £140
It was a deal that was open to all. They were doing it until all the bikes in stock were gone but not sure if it's still available. I think they still have one or two 1290's left in the shop. I've got no affiliation with the place or anyone else. My channel isn't that big lol. here's their website www.dmcbirmingham.co.uk/ give them a call. They're a great bunch of guys.
Was KTM My Ride on your bike as standard, or did you need to get the dealer to add it? Is it a hardware, or software addition and its it an added cost? Cheers
When I picked the bike up just over a month ago it wasn't on. It was a late software update, but it's free and is standard. I'd say anyone picking a 1290 up from the last two weeks onwards it would more than likely already be on.
Haha. I have an Arai too and the build quality between the two is comparable. Also thanks for saying I'm young. At the tender age of 50 with over 25 years riding experience I sometimes don't feel young. But thanks for making that assumption. 😄
Bro, uhmm I am 5'5 and the 2020 superduke is my dreambike, will i be able to handle it? i mean the seat height, can i touch both feet on the ground on my height? like even tip toe?
To be honest I think you may struggle depending on your inside leg length as that is what makes a difference more than your overall height. With that I'm 5'7 with an inside leg of 29" and am on the ball of one foot when stationary. Tiptoes when I try and get both feet down. Your best bet is to go too a dealer and sit on one. Hope this is of some help.

If you listen carefully you can hear that hot engine cooling down 😉
Yeah I didn't notice that until I was editing. I was filming on my IPhone and didn't realise how sensitive the mic is
I would be worried about your front forks bottoming out. Looks like you have looking at the marker mate. I would get the sag set to your weight.

The earlier generation look way dope
I think all the 1290 gens look pretty cool.

I’m going to get one of those machines but I’m thinking about the 2nd gen... Sharper and more agressive but the 3rd gen is a pure beauty as well!

Do you know how to measure the inside leg length?
You get a tape measure, place it on the inner part of your leg near your groin and measure down to your ankle.
