I seeded Riviera last year. Germination started around 7-10 days and once it came up, grew and spread like a wildfire. Moved since then, but it surprised the hell outta me at how fast it came in and thickened after germination.
Paul, where do you recommend buying seed from? I’m about to do a bahia/crabgrass/Virginia button weed take down on my new property but thinking I will need to overseed in the spring with Bermuda. Do you recommend overseeing with annual rye this fall to cover the eyesore until I can overseed the Bermuda in the spring?
Stephen Whedbee in my area good timing for this is fall to go ahead and smoke your weeds with glyphosate. I would over seed with perennial ryegrass. I get mine from Southern seeds and Middlesex NC .... I highly recommend the Monaco seed for your Bermudagrass seed

I’m plant Bermuda Mid May ‘21. Already have a soil test. I’m tilling the top soil & removing all pre existing vegetation and debris. Can I put down my biochar & sulfur (soil supplements) BEFORE top dressing with 50/50 topsoil/compost mix? I’m having 2 cu yards of topsoil/compost being hauled in to top dress and raise the lawn slightly (1” for approximately 2400 sf). My logic (flawed or not) is to have the supplements attack/break down in sub surface soil vs the topsoil to feed the grass roots. I will add fertilizer (Nitrogen) to the topsoil layer along with the fescue (Blackjack) seed...& keep it watered (moist) to promote germination.
I highly recommend Monaco it has the best appearance of any seeded Bermuda I have ever used. I showed it in a lot of videos I don’t have them organized in any certain way but this is my house so I have done lots of videos there, I have also seeded several customers yards with it and it looks great
Great content! I’m seeding Zoysia this summer and was wondering if you could give me an outline of what the first season should look like? How often you fertilized, watered, and sprayed GCF products? I have an irrigation system and bulk ordered plenty of GCF products. I never like walking on germinating grass but I don’t want to miss any crucial opportunities to get it going into its first winter.
I did some follow ups but this is the first one I got to where it was looking pretty sporty😁 it’s a completely unrelated video but the Bermuda makes a sweet cameo 🔥

My back yard needs seed and the front is very patchy about the same as your yard. I would rather seed it but want the best seed to give me that hybrid look. Thanks

Aireate the heck out of it deep then drag it back smooth then aireate shallow and seed and you will PROBABLY be good to go for a June seeding
