I can definitely relate bro , I remember working with A guy & he was my ride for like six months & just so happen he wanted all the over time & I would have to stay & work , in the beginning I wld be mad AF , until I seen my first check with all that over time lol , so at the end I thanked him .
while hes spinning er up with the spinners the make up tong can already have his tongs on the stump then slide em up and make em bite while worm side is coming in saving alot of time. rookies learn how to giver 44 style
Man I hated the oil field, thrown those damn tongs around, thrown the chain, I got so good at throwing tongs, I;d start swing them as the casing was coming up, and snap it, Last time I only missed once, hehehe...cathead lickin contest?
What's the device called that they put around the pipe on floor level right before they start to add a section of pipe? Also, are the ends of the pipe section threaded? I assume they are the way they turn to remove and add a section of pipe. If they are threaded, how often do you cross thread? Seems like it'd be a risk.
The drill pipe is threaded on both ends, the threads are tapered and designed to start pretty easy, also they use dope (lubricant) so the threads make up smoothly. I have hardly ever seen a drill pipe connection cross thread.
@@bigbenorr yeah they dope them with a nice lubricant. Plenty of it too, when the pipes are turnin at basically a straight angle into the next joint, with plenty of dope it never cross threads
It paid well. I wasn't thrilled when the driller would say "we're working another shift" and he was my ride home.

To save half a second. Nice
Hello MrAllen421:
So basically, looks like tongs = winch cable driven pipe wrenches?
The should put first the lower tong and then the upper to avoid finger injuries.
I worked for NOMAC until splatterson bought us out NOMAC was a good company to work for
Joe what rigs for Nomac and Splatterson were you on?
Why is it some worm always has to give the finger to the camera?
NOMAC 17!!! YEA!!!
Turma boa bom trabalho fica com Deus
Why is there 3 boys on the floor ? I’m confused is the Motor man board?

These guys are so bad at this, so unsafe. The guy who walks behind the spinner! No idea that if the snub line fails, he gets a spinner in the face

Ain't nothing wrong it..hell I've done it plenty of times...I was told when I first started that throwing tongs builds character...and bank accounts😄
Poor PPE , poor eq handling, positioning themselves in line-of-fire and red zones, crazy tripping speed ….
What happened to the 3/8s chain?
Hector Salmon outlawed now
@@brennoncook6279 not really outlawed but more like dying. I definitely consider myself a dying breed
It definitely is.Hell Nomac got bought out by Patterson now too
Yea we had talent back in the day. Throwing that fuckin chain and slamming tongs all day!
@@BiggRude02 yeah a stupid breed as well, unneeded risk

That device is the pipe slips. It bites onto the pipe so when you unlatch the elevators the pipe doesnt go all the way down hole and get lost on ya
