All this stuff he is citing is old news. They had shut down new orders of the MY23 Bronco’s and just opened the order banks back up for a limited amount of time with very limited models and options. That is because they are clearing all of the old backlog of reservations and orders. All of this has been known for months. Tons of people who thought they were gonna have to remove options have been getting notified of being pulled for build with all of the options.
Mr. Scotty - could you please do a top 10 of best vehicles if the country is faced with major trade issue/major conflict, or at least significant import limitations. Thank you much
Hi Scotty. I was just curious where you got your information from about Bronco production shutdown? I work at the plant that manufactures those models along side of the Ranger and I have not heard this news. I asked around to managers and execs and there are not even rumors amongst the company of production shutting down. Thanks Scotty! By the way, I like your videos and content. Been viewing your videos for a few years now. 😉
@@carspot9778 yeah I could understand that. However, here we are 10 days later from the time of this video release and production is still going strong with no end in sight as far as a shutdown.
I run AGM do to they csn be mounted asny way you want. They dont spill easy! In an off road truck built to go fast & smooth and handle steep slopes & can handle surprise jumps you do not want Batery acid spilling it destroys wires & more!
@@rrf6747 Yeah DOD / cylinder deactivation is a big problem with GM and Dodge V8 engines equipped with it. An obd2 module is the cheapest solution if available otherwise it's HP Tuners and removing / replacing engine components (which still requires a tune). My brother's 2014 Challenger RT has it and he has to manually shift the automatic in order to bypass it until he tunes it out. "Hemi tick" mainly caused by it.
It was a highly anticipated vehicle that didn’t live up to expectations. I had an original Bronco,302 engine. It was a brute. Paid $4500.00 for it,so I could take it 4 wheeling without worrying about scratches.
I leased a car for three years to bridge the gap from when that Bronco was released. Kept my old Jeep for the weekend toy. But once the Bronco came out I was selling the jeep and buying one. Bronco came out a year or more late and had crazy markups. Independent front suspension made it more of a 4Runner competitor than Wrangler competition. Of course that doesn’t hold up off-road. I can buy a Rubicon fully loaded for what the base Broncos are marked up too. Lame. But you know what? Jeep can go pound sand too. The similar Wrangler I looked at for $37k two years ago is $47k. I’ll just keep running the old girl. Tough as nails and goes anywhere.
He has an axe to grind. The valve problem was with a small percentage of specific engines. Thousands of people have great Broncos that are reliable... and I'm one of them
If the pump and filter are in the tank, how would you save money just changing the filter, put it all back in and find out it's the pump. That would mean you would have to pay again to have tank removed to change the pump. If the filter was of the type you show, it would make complete sense to change the filter first.
Many older cars have the fuel filter accessible under the car or engine bay which can easily be replaced. For example all Toyota Tacoma's up to 2015 have it under the truck along the frame.
So are you telling me that my bronco that I ordered, scheduled for build on the 27th of this month, is "NOT" going to be built ? Since my dealer just got the email last week and informed me, I'm inclined to believe them
Scotty, bad advice on the toggle switch to the compressor on the Honda Fit.The A/C fans won't come on,and you can overheat the whole system resulting in component failures.
I meanwhile am driving a 2016 Ford Escape with a 1.6L Ecoboost with only 85,000 miles! I bought it less than a month ago when it had 82,000 miles and it’s been running like a champ! It feels weird to say I’m old school in this case as the Broncos are failing.
As an engineer, I believe it is due to the bean counters or bad management. It could be bad engineering, but driven by bad management or bean counters. Joe
If you have a hard top on your bronco, check the driver and passenger side rear affixed windows for leaks. Mine had some light trickling on both sides and my warranty covered the repair (it was around 2800 miles) the tech was saying the adhesive or primer ford uses wasn't applied properly and would wear out fast.
Glad I built an old Full Size Bronco! into a long suspension travel on King Shocks with a built internal balanced engine & a drivetrain newer bodu in front. Gears & Lockers Trans TRans case ALT stereo Lights winch etc.. It rides rough off road fast like a cadillac!
As strange as it is, I heard from every mechanic I know that the Bronco sport built in Mexico was more reliable than the regular Bronco built in Michigan. Ford needs to get their crap together ASAP!
Mexican workers consider working at an auto plant a cherished job. They can be fired for insubordination and poor performance unlike UAW workers. I've had two Rams assembled in Saltillo. Never a rattle or misfitting part.
I think with every new location, it takes time to build quality. I think Scotty might be stuck in the pass on this one. Ford on the other hand needs to quit trying to make 10 bucks on a cent product.
My neighbor’s Avalanche was doing the same thing the Equinox Scotty described was doing. I told him to tell the mechanic to swap out the computer. After 2 months of trying different things, he finally did. It was the computer. My 95 Honda Accord was doing the same thing. After a new computer, it ran like it was brand new. This was after I swapped out the fuel filter, distributor, coils, spark plugs, etc.
I had a 99 Trans Am and it would idle terribly sometimes when it rained. Shop replaced the computer and it fixed the problem. It was an expensive fix because they also had to take it to the dealer to program the vin and everything
Crazy with how many issues these new Broncos have had you see so many of them on the road. The Ford die hards are passionate and it seems to make them turn a blind eye to Fords massive decline in quality the last decade or so.
Scotty, you want to tell people that live in the south areas like Ohio where I live to get their cars oil sprayed they do inside the doors inside the quarter panels and of course the whole bottom of the vehicle. I’m driving an 03 Chevy Silverado that looks like it did the day I bought it.
Another vehicle like the Bronco that is less than the sum of its parts and not ready for primetime. Anyone with any marketing skill could have forecast the failure of that platform and the abuse that it would take online for being substandard
Cheaper, cheaper, cheaper, is all the auto manufacturers care about until it bites them back, they tell there suppliers to make it as cheap as possible, there only goal is just make it out of warranty in hopes you’ll just buy another new car, wash, rinse repeat. The 2.7 eco boost has been around for years, now valve problems? No cheaper valves, cost, cost, cost. At these prices for new vehicles, and the huge bonuses the automaker employees get, there product should be bulletproof.
It's only a problem the other way around. If the car was designed with AGM then you shouldn't replace with lead acid. Upgrading lead acid to AGM is fine
I remember 70s trucks being tough as hell and still around today.. You don't need no damn computer on a motor. You can buy a big rig dirt cheap too. Because you're taking someone else's problem, DEF... Motors can't run on piss and computer chips
CAR MANUFACTURERS NEED TO LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHEN TRYING TO BRING BACK OLD SUCCESSFUL VEHICLES! WE BASICALLY WANT: THE SAME CAR; APPEARANCE, DIMENSIONS... BUT MODERN LUXURIES LIKE CRUISE CONTROL, LED LIGHTS INSTEAD OF INCANDESCENT, DISC BRAKES INSTEAD OF DRUMS, FUEL INJECTED INSTEAD OF CARBURETED. IT'S THAT EASY 👐 NO INSANELY DRAMATIC BODY CHANGES
I think they start making the next model year in July or Aug. Don't they usually shut down their assembly lines the first couple of weeks of July? I would think they would start the next model year when they start back up.
I had half a day to spare in Detroit few weeks ago while on a trip there. Took a tour of the Rouge factory. Omg.... Dilapidated buildings, huge piles of trash everywhere, dirty, messy, rusted out, it was a sad sight to see.
There are a ton of things driving the pause in production at many plants. Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers are having issues getting part made and materials from lower tier vendors. Not sure about this axe grinding.
I own a 22 Bronco Wildtrak and have no issues. Not a single one. It's so funny how people jump on the bandwagon. Have you ever been to a Honda dealerships service department? It's amazing that you never see any Hondas getting repaired. Lol 😂😂 they run on fairy dust and sunshine.
I've read that Ford said that the two turbocharged engines will be fine for customers, and so they don't need the 5.0 v8. I really don't see how engines that explode could possibly suit customers just fine.
Just because a car's body style is the same for several model years, doesn't mean it is using the same exact engine for all those years because the manufacture may update the engine and software in one year
As a heads up alot of newer cars depending on manufacturer around the year 2000 and up does not have a fuel filter. Unless it's a diesel than it's going to have a fuel filter.
Scotty I have a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica with a 128k and I've had 2 different mechanics look at it and both say the transmission is bad!! So when I drive it it shift's great " but sometimes when I get in it and start it I can only due 30mph but sometimes it runs great. But when it does act up the check engine light will come on and my radiator fan immediately runs even when cold I had the transmission cooler lines replaced"$475" and it didn't fix the problem. I can unhook the battery and leave it unplugged for 30-45 minutes and it runs beautiful until I shut it off and restart it?!? Any ideas what it could be?
Trump looked a little down-n-out from the that picture taken in court today. Only because his attorneys told him to keep his mouth shut. LOL! Back on topic... I don't see a lot of Broncos where I live. I'm surprised, it is a city with millions of people. Hopefully I can find a low mile 2 door with a bad engine. Eventually, the aftermarket will produce a wiring harness for a V8. Back it up with a manual transmission for some fun!
Scotty, I am having electrical problems with the gauge cluster, interior reading lights, 2010 Jeep Patriot. Problem started with front reading lights above the dash flashing when I use the right turn signal. Now, as I start the vehicle, all the dash lights flash then go off completely, except for the odometer lamp. No rear tail lights, but rear signals work. Strange. I suspect bad system ground, but what do you think.
Hello, I just watched the video about the Ford bronco production being stopped. Then you started talking about batteries and you recommended AGM can be put into any car. However, the Lexus LS430 is very specific about the battery and I am wondering if an AGM battery can be put into this car? Also I read that the cold cranking amps must be the same as the OEM battery which is a paltry 530 if I'm not mistaken. I was told not to put a higher cold cranking amp battery into this vehicle. When I replace a battery in my cars I always put the highest cold cranking amps I can get. Can you shed some light on which battery for this vehicle. These were 2001 through 2006.

Damn, the Broncos Raptor was my favorite car at the auto show. I'm one of those people who always say"I'd never spend 100k on ONE car" but the Raptor Bronco made me rethink that.
It's just not worth it.... The quality just isn't there..
Sit in it and you'll come to your senses
It will look good on a tow truck lol
@@ubeuonly I know but I was just overwhelmed by the " cool" factor and I'm rarely overwhelmed. But yeah, even if I'd have to have 10 million to spend 100k on ONE vehicle.
Now you'll pay 150k-200k at a Mecum or Barret Jackson auction for one
they aren't making base models, everglades and other trim levels he probably meant that.
wouldn't be surprised if they never mentioned it to you. it's a means of manipulating emotions
Umm, aren’t they just shutting down production of those specific models? Still alot of Broncos going down the line.
Did you watch the video? He said that.
@@Tontisimo I’m sorry, but the way he was saying things it made it sound like they were shutting down all production.
Scotty, you are right about the rust on the roads vehicles get ruined from that in Maryland myself
My 2021 Bronco is one of my favorite cars. My 2015 GMC / Chevy 1500 pickup lifters failed at 50K miles my brothers Chevy did too.
Displacement on demand?
Cylinder deactivation?
Damn. I'll never get that minute and 12 seconds back. That opinion and voice. My 22 Wildtrak is awesome! No issues, none.
He has an axe to grind. The valve problem was with a small percentage of specific engines. Thousands of people have great Broncos that are reliable... and I'm one of them
Yes you have a point! He does this a bunch, old Scotty has a shed full of axes!
American car manufacturers are just not up to par and that’s the truth. They’ve been lacking for decades now and that cannot be denied.
Come back in 10 years, Then we can talk about reliability.
3 + years is considered long-term reliability. 90 days is considered initial quality.
If the pump and filter are in the tank, how would you save money just changing the filter, put it all back in and find out it's the pump. That would mean you would have to pay again to have tank removed to change the pump. If the filter was of the type you show, it would make complete sense to change the filter first.
ʟᴇᴛ’s ᴛᴀʟᴋ👆
ᴛʜᴀɴᴋs ғᴏʀ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜɪɴɢ!
Many older cars have the fuel filter accessible under the car or engine bay which can easily be replaced.
For example all Toyota Tacoma's up to 2015 have it under the truck along the frame.
It’s a shame they didn’t just power them with a 302 V8. Would have sounded great and run forever.
So are you telling me that my bronco that I ordered, scheduled for build on the 27th of this month, is "NOT" going to be built ? Since my dealer just got the email last week and informed me, I'm inclined to believe them
They're only shutting down for a couple weeks and I believe it's in July.
It feels weird to say I’m old school in this case as the Broncos are failing.
idk why they dont put the 3.3 liter naturally aspirated in the bronco and ranger. i guess it makes too much sense
As an engineer, I believe it is due to the bean counters or bad management. It could be bad engineering, but driven by bad management or bean counters. Joe
I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I see all kinds of off-road vehicles. The one thing I've yet to see...a dirty Ford Bronco.
Lol you're right. Every bronco I've seen has been spotless

I just watched this from MY23, 2 door Badland 2.7l, with SAS and lux. Hmmm def feel bad for people still waiting. It’s an awesome truck to play with.
Thank you Scotty for another great show! Good night!
Tesla called right after the news looking to rent production space. What a troll!😮
I've always been told to check the fuel filter and never once was the no start was because of a clogged fuel filter.
Ford on the other hand needs to quit trying to make 10 bucks on a cent product.
i recently bought a 88 bronco ii, i have to get it towed 3 times in the past 2 months I've had it, looks cool, gets compliments but unreliable!!!
They were carb'd with air pumps and a slew of vacuum hoses. It's a 40 yr old vehicle.
I have a 2000 toyota 4 runner 279k miles 5 inch lift 33 inch tires still gets 18 mpg !
Crazy with how many issues these new Broncos have had you see so many of them on the road. The Ford
die hards are passionate and it seems to make them turn a blind eye to Fords massive decline in quality the last decade or so.
Scotty, you want to tell people that live in the south areas like Ohio where I live to get their cars oil sprayed they do inside the doors inside the quarter panels and of course the whole bottom of the vehicle. I’m driving an 03 Chevy Silverado that looks like it did the day I bought it.
ohio is NOT the south lmao. we do not and will never claim the midwest
Next up to go belly up, the lightning/ all electric trucks.
Another vehicle like the Bronco that is less than the sum of its parts and not ready for primetime. Anyone with any marketing skill could have forecast the failure of that platform and the abuse that it would take online for being substandard
everytime I see a Scotty video I rev up my engine
Cheaper, cheaper, cheaper, is all the auto manufacturers care about until it bites them back, they tell there suppliers to make it as cheap as possible, there only goal is just make it out of warranty in hopes you’ll just buy another new car, wash, rinse repeat. The 2.7 eco boost has been around for years, now valve problems? No cheaper valves, cost, cost, cost. At these prices for new vehicles, and the huge bonuses the automaker employees get, there product should be bulletproof.
Wow ! You are a Master Scotty! 🙏
Good job Scotty! Educational as always! Thank you!🎉🎈😅
There's about 1,000 BRONCO's sitting up in storage at YIP Airport, still waiting for parts.
7:57 I've played this back 10x and I can't stop laughing!
To be fair My ecoboost expedition has never given me any problems and it’s high mileage as well.
That cone looked like a great cold air intake.
I looked at a Bronco and realized I had more storage space in my 2011 Chevy HHR.
This is what happens when corporations and government get to intertwined. Competition is offset by back door money to push EV.
I was under the impression that the charging system doesn't work properly when you replace the lead-acid with an AGM battery.
Nope. Threw agm batteries in 3 different cars none complained. From 2000- 2013
I put a new AGM in my 2002 lexus andbit does just fine
It's only a problem the other way around. If the car was designed with AGM then you shouldn't replace with lead acid.
Upgrading lead acid to AGM is fine
I was going to buy several Broncos for myself and people I know. My Powerball numbers haven’t paid off yet…
I remember 70s trucks being tough as hell and still around today.. You don't need no damn computer on a motor. You can buy a big rig dirt cheap too. Because you're taking someone else's problem, DEF... Motors can't run on piss and computer chips
The Equinox maybe the fuel rail, happened too me twice
Actually, the vehicles coming out of the Hermosillo Mexico plant have a higher build quality than any of Fords domestic plants.
Do you know what I miss the most under the hood? The trans dipstick. I almost forgot. A reliable engine too
AI has determined that humans can't check their own trans levels.
This is the best reason to get a great bicycle...
I think they start making the next model year in July or Aug. Don't they usually shut down their assembly lines the first couple of weeks of July? I would think they would start the next model year when they start back up.
My 2022 Bronco engine locked down at 15000 miles.

There are a ton of things driving the pause in production at many plants. Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers are having issues getting part made and materials from lower tier vendors.
Not sure about this axe grinding.
I owned two old Rangers and loved them. One made it to 215K miles. It would have kept going but the underbody corroded out. Road salt you know.

Well the line was shut down to prepare for the new Ranger pickup. They will both run on the same line.

You can't toggle switch the AC compressor 🤦 The high an low side need to monitored to avoid blowing up the compressor.
Mr. Kilmer could you do a video on buying beater cars? Thank you.
Hi Scotty, I am planning to buy a full size suv, which one should I go for 2023 sequoia or 2023 expedition max.
I will appreciate your help. Thank you
My ‘22 Bronco2D Black Diamond MT has 7k miles, no problems whatsoever. ❤️ driving it!
Just because a car's body style is the same for several model years, doesn't mean it is using the same exact engine for all those years because the manufacture may update the engine and software in one year

RIP coming from Scotty Kilmer is plain sarcasm.
As a heads up alot of newer cars depending on manufacturer around the year 2000 and up does not have a fuel filter. Unless it's a diesel than it's going to have a fuel filter.
HELLO,
I HAVE A 2012 FUSION SE, POWER STEERING JUST GAVE OUT. SHOULD I REPAIR IT OR SELL THE VEHICLE?
I gave the bronco a chance but I knew Ford would blow it.
Are we really surprised?
My 2023 2D 7-speed manual 2.3 Ecoboost us great - just got more rare.
"Sounds' like lawyers wrote that one... " LOL... every word that comes out of the mouth of every hand picked CEO and politician
Guarantee this shutdown of manuals coincides with TSB 22-2371 for the defective MT-88 transmissions…
Did Henry Ford leave Scotty's Mother at the alter!? 🤣🤣

Pray for those Michigan factory workers
Saw a bronco commercial right before this video. Weird.
I hope they fix the Broncos because they are really cool looking vehicles. I’d like to have one, but not if it’s unreliable l.
