- I am excited to present you the first PvP combat in MH2 since the shut down of the official servers (30/6/2011). Me and my great Congalala "Blargle" will fight against our fearsome antagonist Dixdros and his Congalala "PlimPlim".
Notes:
- This server is now in a Closed Beta with the same players as the previous test.
- I am just a tester, not developer.
- This is recorded in the PCSX2 emulator but can be played in a real PS2 as well.
- The footage was recorded the 3/1/2023.
- There are several things to solve about the PvP still like the time selection and the 2 vs 2 gamemode.
- We captured these Congalalas in normal quests. You get a chance to get it as a pet for the PvP once you have it unlocked. There are more monsters that can be captured, we used Congalala because it was what we had at the moment.

What a time to be a Monster Hunter fan. With MH Tri's multiplayer coming out of private beta soon, we will soon have all the main console games mutliplayer working again. I cannot wait.
Wow! Thanks for showing us all these features most people haven't had the chance to experience. I'd heard of PvP but never seen it, and I've never heard of or seen the shooting minigame!
Hahahaha thanks to you for watching! You will be able to experience this by yourself in the future! About the shooting minigame, it was possible to play with the offline cheat of gigaproto but I decided to include it in my video for people that may have never seen it, like you!
Blargle is the most excited I've been for a monster reveal since we got a teaser of Safi. So excited!
Crazy to think that for the longest time, people started to claim that the PvP monster fighting stuff in Dos wasn't real. Also, I had no idea there was a little shooting mini-game! Wild stuff!
It is real here you can see! And yeah there is a shooting minigame, MH2 has some cool minigames.

@@wolfitoh7981 Hemos hecho pruebas de como funciona, cuando matas a otro jugador respawnea al poco rato y su muerte no afecta en nada. Solo se puede ganar matando al monstruo enemigo.
@@Jurther Pero por lo poco que se del PvP visto en Rise y aquí, es cazador VS monstruo, el cual dicho monstruo es controlado por un jugador, ¿no?

Yeah but the Dundorma of MH4U was more like a village than a town in the way it worked so it was simplified.

Where would be the best place to go for access to the servers like tri and dos(when it becomes available)?
Join the MH Oldschool discord server for MH2 (they also have servers for MH1 and MHG) it is the description of this video. And for MH3 go to the MH3PS discord pinned in any of my MH3 beta videos.
When you said PvP, I had the impression that players would be able to control monsters. I was wondering why such a feature didn't make it into the game yet. Like how cool will it be if one of the players took control over the monster and fights other hunters? Like Evolve.
Man this is monster hunter... Also MH2 is the game with the most inmersive world and ecosystems in the saga, it wouldnt make any sense that they do that. Instead they did a monster capture system that resemble to the beasts fights in the aphitheatres of rome with is way more inmersive imo.
@@Jurtherthis is going to become one of my new favorite mechanics. Of question but where could I go to find the list of PVP available monsters or is it just anything you can capture aside from a few?
@@officialc1459 In the MH2 wiki online or the official guide, but they are in japanese. Don't worry im working with MH United to prepare one small guide in english. About the monsters that you can capture, they seems to be all of the possible monsters to capture except a few ones like metal raths, plesioth (probably for thecnical isues with his AI related with water), basarios or monoblos.
The arena has the Fu snowy mountains theme?
Yup, weirdly it is later used as the FU snowy theme instead of the MH2 one.
Can you actually feed rajang kirin horns here? If so can we see the animation of him eating kirin horns?

What do you mean "system link"? You can play with a real PS2 and also Emulator.

Don't undervalue the MH Oldschool team! But about the things that you suggested, nah MH2 is not going to be modded. If you want frontier monsters in MH2 just play frontier! It already MH2 with frontier monsters!

Hahahhaah! We think that it is not possible because it doesnt appear in the guide of MH2 as a possible monster for PvP. But azure can be captured!

In the server rules it says that you need to have a legal copy of the game.

@@soidcore7841 Oh no man! The server will be completly free!!! We can't monetize a game that is not made by us! You just need to have a copy of the game and join the server. (It is not public yet but will be once it is stable) In MH Oldschool we have MH1 and MHG servers too, they are already public!
