I took a pair of pliers to the little light on the circuit board and tore it off. Then the seat belt light stayed on. So I tore it off too. Lastly, the ABS light took over, and out it came too. All three must have been sharing the same circuit.
Requiring people to keep tpms sensors in their Vehicles is bullsh!t . Just put rubber valve stems in... buy a cheap tire pressure gauge and check it yourself... I had a shop replace mine and I had tpms sensors in them when I gave them the wheels but when I picked up they had rubber valve stems.. And I didnt know the tpms sensors went out 4 or 5 years down the road... That's BS!!
Thanks for your video. After watching this, I gathered up enough courage to attempt this myself on my 2016 Fiat 500 pop. The only thing I did differently was I used a blob of black silicone and a small piece of gorilla tape to effectively block it out. Put everything back in place and it worked. Thanks again.......
Most excellent! Even though I do all my car work and solder etc I am a little intimidated by removing the dash and gauge cluster. But you did an awesome job. Thanks
I check my tires weekly anyway, so I could certainly live without this TPMS Nuisance. I hate when I see it on all winter long, especially when I switch over to Snow Tires on Steel Rims and the TPMS Sensors are not interchangeable on my Alloys...completely different Stems.
it is actually not illegal to disable your own TPMS sensor. Honda made a case that if people put on aftermarket rims or tires, the light being constantly on would desensitize people to the warning light and its actual function on unmodified vehicles so the actual law is for vehicles 2006 and newer, manufactures are required to equip the vehicle with TPMS. Owner are allowed to disable them, or have them disabled but i would put that in writing as a modification if you sell the car. The other laws that were included ( it is illegal to disable or remove any SRS component or restraint belt) still holds.
There are other methods out there for disabling the light. (Toyot Turdra) I'm looking into that now but really need to get a diagram before shorting out wiring. IMO tire stores want as it is a cash cow. $60 to replace one and actual cost is $15 per sensor. Break tire and reinstall sensor and the pare it to controller. 5 min job.
I had a similar issue but all my sensor were checked and were working. I disconnected the fuse inside the car and restarted my car with the fuse off. The fuse was good. I turned off the car and put the fuse back in. Turned the car on again and the warning did not show up again.

Great that you can do that but for inexperience people who do not have electronic and soldering skills especially ESD knowledge this could be a bad result with the chance of electronic static discharge and damage other components so beware!
got that right. i took apart a chevy trax gauge console. most is just clips. and a couple of screws. but when i attempted to remove the gauge panel from the circuit board i couldn't remove the needle speed indicator. not sure if you can. it runs through and is mounted inside a small white plastic housing. so i just took a piece of trimmed electrical tape and placed it on the black surface over the light. now light is gone. there is supposed to be a tpms emulator that will shut down the system. only I'm unable to find anything in detail about it. i drove cars for 40 years with no nothing. now its a packed full of worthless bullschit. like side radar, etc. guess that's all for those illiterate moron jerkoffs that aren't capable of driving a real car. if i can disconnect it or shut it off consider it done. now i wish i had kept my 76 el camino with a rebuilt 69, 327 engine. i even got an emission wavier because the engine was built before a certain year. now I'm screwed. i had a dodge caliber right low beam burn out and it shut down the high beams. i had to pay a jackazz dealer $90 bucks just to reset the tpms module. i almost reset his teeth arrangement over the event.
Tires don't have tpms sensors. The tpms sensor is underneath your valve stem on your wheel. The sensor will stay installed if you get new tires. The issue is the tpms sensors' batteries go dead or they need to be reset. You cannot replace the battery on these sensors and they need to be replaced.
I think you can get those to talk with your phone (via bluetooth?) but I'm not aware of any which report to the vehicle's TPMS. Also, they might throw off wheel balance if they're too heavy...
Hi my name is Ben and I bought 2008 Honda CRV and I have this tpms sign. Don’t know how to open dashboard if you can send a video how to open I’ll be great full. Thank you
So I live in Florida and have to ask do you swap rims and tires every winter? And just don’t have tpms in your winter wheels because of the $150 it costs?
@@danielwiley5796 no message to worry about on this 2015 Subaru Forester. I think check engine lights and a few other things like low oil / fluid levels / overheating get posted but nothing to do with TPMS.
I thought the sensors were in the wheels nothing to do with the tires.. the backside of your valve steam that need calibration (for location) after rotating the tires.
In this case it's on because of how I've wired the switch. The switch has 3 leads (the two inputs being switched, and one ground, which makes the light activate when the inputs see 12V and are connected). You can turn off the light, as wired, by switching the switch off, by resolving the TPMS error, or by disconnecting the switch's LED ground.

It's not illegal to disable it. They just can't sell a new car off the lot with it non functional

Great idea!!! Not disabling the system, but disabling the warning light.

True. In my case, I've got a separate set of wheels with winter tires missing sensors.

You could have just said they can’t be disabled. I got The tire pressure monitors at Walmart for $58.00. You don’t have to buy tires with them
Would this method work with an annoying ABS light?
Yeah this could work for anything really!
So I live in Florida and have to ask do you swap rims and tires every winter? And just don’t have tpms in your winter wheels because of the $150 it costs?

How do you get rid of the message that comes up on the screen

It’s just a light people, live with it for 3 months & then party up when it goes off in spring.
I thought the sensors were in the wheels nothing to do with the tires.. the backside of your valve steam that need calibration (for location) after rotating the tires.
Yep that's correct. I conflated wheels and tires since I have a separate set of wheels solely for the snow tires mounted on them.
The tpms sensor is on ur RIM, not ur tires so u do NOT need to replace when u do tires. The battery in sensor does go bad so if its lit, sensor is bad
Good point. This is an aftermarket set of wheels and tires without TPMS.
aren't TPMS sensors like $5?
79$
Exactly what I needed to know thank you sir
They make a program called FOR SCAN . Disabled all that

What is crazy is the dealer charges up to a grand or so but the sensors are only 10 each or less online lol. Good ole stealership.
Here its free :0
Kermit has gone techno!
Is there a light on the switch you installed dimming the dash lights? If so, maybe a simpler switch with no light indicator'ya know
Yep! I don't mind it since the objective is for the light to stay off.
cant be anulate? permanently?
$200-$300 every 5 years to replace them is a PITA.
I did the cheapest option, put a piece of black electrical tape over the idiot light only. :)

Good idea to turn it off but it will not pass inspection this way.😢
You could just take the fuse out under the backseat
Take the bulb out of the gauge cluster
Yeah if you watch the video that's basically what I ended up doing.
Rather than do all that work, why don’t you simply replace the TPMS Sensors?
