You’re doing mental gymnastics to keep his name out of your argument because you know it discredits your “anti-international” claim and destroys your entire 20 minute video. He is 20 years old and is unanimously known by all nba fans and media as having the potential to be the greatest player of all time, if not a top 5 player. I don't think its because they aren't American. Look at someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger who is Austrian. He was massively popular with American audiences in the 80's and 90's because he just had the "it" factor. Guys like Jokic, Giannis, and Luka are remarkably talented and all-time greats, sure, but they are all just missing something. Just because someone or something isn't American doesn't mean it can't work in the US- anime, sushi, The Beatles, AC/DC, Harry Potter, K-Pop, yoga, pizza, etc. If there is anyone that will be the face of the NBA in the next few years, my money is on Ant or Wemby.

I disagree. Wemby is good, and so is Ant man, but their game is quiet. That's the problem. I currently see the players that are causing the most stir up Jalen Brunson, Ja Morant, Luka donic, but where luka falls short is the game is just a bit quiet like Tatum he's a great player leading a decent celtic team why isn't he suggested is because his games are quite we don't often see the quick talker that can back it up anymore in these players I think right now that's the difference however there also needs to be a balance between rivalry and violence can't let it get away like what happened with Ja so right now the most balanced rivalry is reese vs clark until ja ant, Jason, luka, have a passionate display and rivalry I don't see it changing much one of the biggest things most forget about Jordan, player's on his own team as well as an opponent team consider him a ass hole. They put The Mav games on the prime time national game as often as they can. The only Lakers get more national broadcast games. Luka gets the views. When I talk to people who don't watch Basketball they know who Luka is. Luka game is entertaining and people can Identify with his play style more the someone that only know for pretty Dunks.
There's one problem I can see with Clark as the next face of basketball: the media have, for some reason, joined with the league is doing to her the same as you described them doing to the European players who have all the stats and qualifications (other than being American). I can't figure out why they're doing it, but it's so obvious all of UA-cam is talking about it. They bypass her, laud others' stats and records while not mentioning hers that are much more spectcular (and sometimes arguably more honestly earned), and just generally try to brush by her as the brush by the Europeans in the NBA.
I'd love to know what's going on. One UA-cam guy has said it's because she won;t "sell her soul," but I don't know what he's referring to, so I have no way of knowing if he's on to something.
All I know is, whatever's going on is very weird, because all these money-grabbing institudtions are acting against their own financial interest, big time, in their treatment of Clark, and they have to know it...uet they persiist.

hear me out. The players who are GOATed are really just at such a level there is no comparison, thus doing that is futile. They have instead achieved GOTT status. Its the german word for god, indicating how we have placed these players on a divine pedestal, and thus anoint them the 'greatest of the(ir) time'. There is seldom overlap between their careers, especially primes, so there is MJ, Lebron, Kobe, Bird/Magic(idk probably arguable, before my time). This decade is midway almost, yet the greatest of this time is still probably Lebron/Curry. I'd argue Lebron is the emeritus, and Curry is the guy who is the currently best player in the biggest moments. Durant has lost that status imo, and I would still blame his injury, for keeping him away from the big stage during his prime. And considering there has been no dominance in the past 7 years (since 2018) other than Curry repeating with his '22 win, it's up in the air who can achieve that status now. Its not a debate on the face of the NBA, it's a debate on greatest of the time.

I guess Luka needs to become the face of the League, you need to think outside of the NBA and think about National Teams, most people live outside of the USA and the time zones are makeing very difficult to watch the NBA or they simply do not care a lot about basketball.
The face of the league must be also international very relevant and Luka Doncic is doing an amazing job, my parents and a lot of my friends here in Germany do not watch Basketball, but they know Luka Doncic and Dennis Schröder, but never even heard who is Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant (i know it sounds very redicilous, but it is how it is) they need to get also into the media outside of the American Media and Luka did it several times, when he played for Real Madrid and got the youngest Euroleague Finals MVP, when he won the FIBA European Championship, and also just recently when he scored 73 Points.
I think the next face needs to be Luka )not because he is also my favourite player at the moment) but because he is simply accomplished so much already and is still very yound, when he is getting his 1st MVP this year (chances are there, either SGA, Jokic or Luka) or he is getting into the NBA Finals together with Kyrie also a very popular Player outside the USA, but simply because of his crazy theories and the flat earth stuff. I’m sorry if this comes out a lil messed up, but the face of the NBA will never be a foreign player. Just look at how disrespected Luka gets treated. I think the NBA is afraid of ending up like the MLB. Viewership has been trending down for a long time and I think one of the reasons, especially in the MLB’s case is that the face/best/most popular players in the league are barely homegrown. People want to see ppl that look like them and from where they’re from playing these sports. It’s the reason their aren’t a lot of American black players in the MLB or black ppl watching baseball. Jordan vs Bron is the biggest rivalry 2024. Bronny is the most talked about prospect and he might not get drafted, Edey (canadian) might not make it to the first round. Bruh... What are you going on about. Must have ran out of content. You had a decent point until you ended with a WNBA player being the face of the NBA. SMH! Two different leagues in which Clarks own is already struggling to have its own brand and needs her to be their savior.
The only reason KD, Giannis, etc. didn't become the face after LeBron is because he was still in his prime. The face of the NBA has always been like this. Magic and Bird declined and Jordan took the mantle. Jordan declined and Kobe took it. LBJ then came along and took it and he's been in his prime for two decades so there was no need for a change unless another player was clearly better.
The only difference between back then and now is how long LBJ stayed in his prime and the fact the NBA has so much more talent but none has been dominant in winning yet so it's not clear cut who should and/or will be the face.
A part of being the face is being dominant with playoff runs and that's not consistently happening right now other than Celtics with Tatum who have yet to win it all. MJ is an exception because he was so much better than everyone else at the time when he became the face before winning a chip. But he still got to the wins to keep it. Celtics have had the most consistent post season success currently but haven't won any of those runs and there's not been any player so far ahead of everyone else like MJ. Luka and Jokic have been great players but so has Joel and Giannis. 2 of the 3 have won it all but none have consistently been on deep playoff runs and/or been the clear best player year after year; they've been amongst the top but it has still been debatable who is the clear best. With MJ there was no debate.
Magic and Bird got several chips each. MJ had 2 3 peats. Kobe had a 3 peat and almost 2. LBJ got several chips and was consistently in the finals. Curry was the closest to being the face had LBJ not still be in the picture and it can be argued that during the GSW's run LBJ and Curry were co-face of the NBA.
Now a player has to be so far ahead of everyone else it's not a debate like Jordan and/or go on several deep playoff runs and win a few of those runs. At worst due to the talent in the NBA being so vast, it'll be harder to stand out and harder to win consistently so there'll be multiple faces of the NBA for a couple years which isn't a bad problem to have. Eventually a team will put a roster together that dominates for a few years and grabs a few chips with a star player that can be the main face. Nash isnt international in the way he means it. There is even a canadian NBA team.. Same as SGA. International in this sense means not north american. Olajuwon wasnt born in the US, but is a product of the US college system and became a US citicen in 1993, before wining his 1st chip.
And neither of those guys was the face of the NBA anyways. Not even Olajuwon. He was one of the best 2-3 players, sure. But not the face.
