@@TaketotheRoad A pleasure scenic road trip in 1993, from Bangkok, Thailand to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in a 1986 928 S2, allowed me to appreciate the magnificent craftsmanship of the 928 S2 having driven the same car in Turkey a few years earlier. During the road trip, an electrical issue would crop up where the fuse or relay switch involving the fuel pump where the car would not start after I had stopped for a break. I would take a gamble and exchange the same fuse/relay switch that were numerous in the fuse box & in use for other functions. It worked and the car would start. I am not electrical or mechanically inclined but the map/guide in the fuse box was easy to read & clarified, I suppose for the practical convenience for any driver to do simple electrical remedies before going into the shop for a full service. That much driver consideration/thought can't be seen in cars of today. During ownership of this marvellous car, that fuel pump issue would seem to be the only problem that cropped up over the decade or so that I had the car. Now, I'm looking for a 928 shell to convert for electrification. I am sure the body of this beautiful car, once electrifcation is complete, would break land speed records as it used to, even when it first came out. I touched 130 miles per hour before I had to apply emergency stop measures in Malaysia. The brakes would emit plumes of white smoke that would billow & quickly dissipate out form the left & right side perimeter of the bonnet over the windshield as the ABS clicked. I didn't hit anything but the driver that inadvertently crossed over into my lane apologised with a wave, a thumbs up and a long gawk.

BB Logo stands for the Buchman Brothers...Germans who were early modifiers of Porsche’s...I believe before even Ruf. I remember reading about them modifying 911’s and 928’s in a 1978 issue of Auto Motor und Sport when I was there in Germany on vacation in ‘78.

cheers for advice&my car has non electric seats,and I’m checking the ignition module that’s not far from where the coil is located.They are no longer available from Bosch😩,but I have a Volvo replacement to see how that goes,I can see why the LS Chevrolet V8 Conversion is becoming popular. cheers Frank😊
No I mean there’s relays under a seat in the 928. So not electric seats. The relay connections can corrode and need to be cleaned. I don’t own one so can’t give more tips. But you should look into that more.
Superb cars. I used to have a GTS in the late 90's. I miss it in many ways. Beautiful, modern and different. Again though, very impressive cinematography, I see real potential for the growth of this channel. Nice one

I really want one of these but the good ones are 1978s and underpowered, and none of them are fuel efficient for the long highway drives they were built to. Great video regardless of my sad face.
Why are "the good ones" the 78s? What rubbish. All of them are great. If your reasoning is because of the 5-speed, I suggest you actually drive one first.
The 911 is the poor man's 928. Sorry - I gotta call balls and strikes. the 928 was European "Car" of the Year 1979. No other sports car including the 911 has ever won "Car" of the year. The 928 has won 2 production car land speed record at Bonneville (1986 and 2020) - the 911 has exactly won none. Even 911 enthusiast Magnus Walker has started his 928 collection - its Now or Never for the 928 still the biggest bang for the buck in classic Porsches. Singer/RWB/RUF could easily reimagine 928s - its just a matter of time before someone specializes in customizing and outlawing 928s - There is no substitute.
They are really nice a true GT tourer mine is 4.5 with subtle upgrades Platnium, in colour,manual,sports seats,cup wheels,headers etc,but in the 9 yrs of my stewardship,sadly it has been so unreliable (elecrical😩) isn’t it always😩and I have three so called Porsche experts,who when you boil it down,they don’t have a clue. I’m sure it’s not major and the car has done 110miles from new✅
They are indeed! It’s a shame yours has got electrical issues. They have a reputation for it. I did speak to another owner who said he checks the module under the seat annually. Takes seat out and cleans connectors etc. He said it’s the only way to keep on top of it. Might be worth giving that a go.
These 928 are large ovens fan assisted ,my be some thing is wrong with my one you just cook inside .they are not land sharks the BMW 3.0 CSI 1974 is the land shark I should know I had one when I was young..Thank you for your video please look up the CSI if you want to see what a real land shark looks like.
Thanks for watching Milo. Air con in cars of that era was never brilliant, assuming yours has it? I actually drove the S2 in the film and do agree it gets a bit warm alright. Neither Al or me are the first people to call the 928 a land shark. It is a name the car picked up not long after launch, so it has been around a long time. True the CSi has been called a landshark as well. They both share characteristics that work with that nickname. Its not about who got called it first.
mine isnt hot inside I live in Perth Australia it gets in the 40s Celsius there called the land shark for a reason because of the front end looks like a shark.

I have driven Corvettes, Mercedes, BMW's, Jags, etc...and nothing compares to Porsche...There is no substitute. Love my 1987 928s4.

I own the old body 1986 Porsche 928S 5.0 32 valve version with a manual gearbox and a Mangnaflow exhaust with over 180k miles.
