Just have to have rice to go with that chicken. I believe it is as good as you say 👏

My family always served this with chutney. It really tied it all together and I recommend it, despite the redundancy with the raisins in the chutney. Great video and a delicious meal I grew up on!

Your Country Captain Chicken looks really good Dave! I liked the spices that you added, and the raisins that would give that sweet taste of country, home!

I usually add the curry powder to the flour mixture. And I use ketchup mixed with brown sugar instead of tomatoes. It's really good

Instead of regular butter use clarified butter (Ghee). It doesnt burn at higher temperatures. Regular butter burns the milk protien which turns brown. You will notice that the (olive) oil does not prevent the butter from burning. With clarified butter you don't need to use oil

Hopefully the nutmeg blends in. I'm not a fan of "sweet/dessert" spices in savory dishes.

Can i ask a favor? There was a short lived miltary issue meal (MRE - i review/eat military rations from everywhere, 1940s to present) that i made a vid of, Country Captain Chicken...Did I get my origin/history right?, accuracy is very important to me. I am a Yank, so my knowledge of amazing southern food is semi limited.

Let me check it out. I did a video on that too. Have to go back and double check the history.
