    Thank you. I have a few of these that I got with a rod and reel set up... and I tried to tie a few as well. Mine still need some work but were pretty good. This demo was very clear and well done. Fished it for some bluegill... The fish lost their minds... was a ton of fun. THX much.

    If I don't have black mono thread, could I get away with using 30 or 50denier GSP, 8/0 thread, or 140denier thread? What would you recommend?

  • @douglasprechtel8375
    @douglasprechtel8375 6 років тому +1

    Sorry for the beginner question. You said that you are tying with monofilament thread. What is the difference between that and say Danville 6-0 thread? Can you use this same technique with standard thing thread like 6-0? Thanks

    • @FlyFishFood
      @FlyFishFood  6 років тому +1

      If you are going to wrap down and back through the hackle, the mono slips through the hackle barbs and doesn't mat them down like it would with normal thread.

      @@FlyFishFood what size mono do you recommend for size 12 to 14 elk hair Caddis?

    • @FlyFishFood

      3X down to 5X depending on what's going on.

      @FlyFishFood  4 роки тому +3
