Awesome detailed review my man. Just grabbed the very similar 3500-1 in 4/24. Growing up with a Casio strapped to my wrist I had to go back even after wearing a Galaxy watch for the last 4 years. In times of uncertainty u can never be to certain👍🏻 stay safe and appreciate the work
Mine just arrived in the mail and I absolutely love it. It's not as huge as I thought it would be when I watched all these different videos on youtube. Thanks for an awesome review.
@@nobetagear Update. Unfortunately I ended up returning it. I found that the sensor on the left side kept digging into my arm which is too bad. I could not adjust it any way to avoid it. The atomic time keeping never worked even if I tried to do it manually anywhere in the city. Too bad.

@@uniquesoundsolutions Very cool, thanks a bunch!! You really can’t go wrong with the Pro Trek but I will have to take a closer look at the GA-1100. My one ding against both would be that neither has tough solar…I could be wrong but I think you’re only getting a 2 year battery with each which may or may not be a big deal.
Since discovering Dark Mode I do find it Superior to Eye Comfort. Just spent a week reviewing watches - finally ordering my first watch in decades. The GW-9400BJ-1JF G-Shock Master of G Rangeman Should be here From Japan 'bout a week. Now I'm torn. This Watch Looks Amazing. Oh... In fact, James Cameron DID go for the Pro Trek. In Avatar (2009) the Marines wear Pro Treks. Colonel Quaritch and Jake Sully even visibly to the camera. Cameron is definitely a friend of SEIKO and CASIO
Does this have a rotating "second hand" (the tick marks around the outside of the face) like the old ones? It seems visible in the Casio ads, but I've never seen it on video and I don't see anything about turning it on in the manual.
I recently bought the titanium 3500 and loved it so much I just ordered this 3510 today. Even got an extra black strap for it. These watches are awesome !
Hi 👋 .. question I received it yesterday , I’m trying to sync it , like you do , but its not working .. I’m 5 seconds MORE than the atomic Eastern clock … Is there something wrong here ??
One nit-pick. The typical plastic material used in Gs and Protreks is urethane (not acrylic). Urethane is extremely tough, acrylic is fragile. Some of the extra soft comfortable bands are made of (as I understand) silicone much like some divers watches instead of urethane for comfort reasons.

Just got this for $216 from Sam's club and I love it. Today is also Amazon Prime day which they are selling it for 35% off. Its an amazing watch and feels so comfortable. This will be my everyday watch.
I know this is an older video but I was curious what your thoughts were on the titanium version of this watch I really wanted to get something that's at home in the outdoors but could also be used for everyday use.. I was looking for a Pathfinder but they don't make them anymore but the protract I guess is the upgrade anyways thanks for your time
The Titanium version is great but is actually slightly heavier than this version at 128g (vs 92g) and may not be as comfortable than the silicone band for daily outdoor wear/activity, definitely subjective though. I also prefer the display on the PRW3510Y-8 which is very cool and actually amazingly legible in bright sunlight. Hope that helps, thanks for tuning in!
Great video, thanks. Just purchased this watch and can hardly wait for it to get here. Have a couple of less expensive G-Shocks and really love them. here's the coolest part about this watch, it's been out for a long time, i had it on my amazon wishlist for at least 2 years. i dont think the watch is shock resistent but due to the previous watch i owned being broken, im looking for a one and done watch to purchase. im still befuddled about the moving bezel because it mostly works with analog watches. the clicking bezels are mostly used with diving watches to prevent any bumping to misdirect time. good review bud! wish i had it up a long while ago.
Great review I’m on the fence between this and a range man. I have a paw 1100 and I just love it. Question do you think the steel bezel will scratch easily or does it seem pretty tough?
The steel bezel on this watch is extremely rugged and the matte finish is awesome. I have accidentally bumped this watch numerous times against hard surfaces and have been pleasantly surprised thus far …. Dare I say it’s every bit as tough as any G-Shock I own. You really can’t go wrong either way. Thanks so much for tuning in!
@@nobetagear thanks for the reply and info - very helpful. I’ll put this on the short list. Also looking at the prg 30 series. Really diggin the negative displays of the pro treks. I do a ton of fishing hiking and camping and seems the viewing of the negative display will be better in the sun and outdoors.
While both watches are awesome and very similar in size and weight, I definitely prefer the Pro Trek because of the cleaner, easier to read (for me) dial/display and of course the stainless steel, rotating bezel that gives full compass interaction and functionality. That said, the 9400 series is a workhorse of a G-Shock that is so dependable and should run through whatever you throw at it. Great picks either way….Thanks so much for tuning in!

ProTech gets it right... You can have a watch that is stylish with a Rugged look & performs a multitude of things.⌚⌚ Every ProTech watch has exceeded my expectation.👂🏽👂🏿👂🏼👂👂🏻
Wonder why the promotional pics show there to be some kind of animation of dots going around the circumference of the dial, but I've never seen a review where that is happening? Awesome watch and review BTW!!!
This watch dial has so many character points on the display array that it almost appears to be animated depending on the mode of use but it is indeed all LCD. I will say that it is one of the most legible, easy to read watches in my collection, especially when using outdoors in bright sun. Thanks so much for tuning in!
This is indeed an authentic Casio….Amazon: Casio Men's 'PRO TREK' Tough Solar Powered and Stainless Steel Watch, Color:Green (Model: PRW-3510Y-8CR) a.co/d/8dwfCBo
I bought the PRG-240 and use it while working on my Ranch, I just order the PRW 3510Y because I love my other watch and really light the reverse display, I think it will be easier to read. You can't have enough good watches. Lol.
How do they compare? I’m predominantly an analogue watch guy with a Seiko and JLC reverso but really want a tougher watch with features for camping and hiking that I’m hoping to do more, be great if you had feedback as these are the two I’m looking at👍🏼
@@MrWrestler41 yeah I originally looked at the titanium bracelet version (3500 I think) but the 3510 looks awesome, just worried it will dwarf my 7in wrist 😄. Thanks for the advice anyway mate 👍🏼👍🏼
I love this watch, just purchased one from amazon Canada for $238 CAD.... However, when I am out hiking I wear my Garmin Fenix 7x.... Can't beat topo maps when hiking in unknown areas...
I have his older sibling prw 3500y-1r with negative display and blueish bezel since 2016. As someone who has a lot of watches automatics and quartz, this is a watch I always come back to. Only thing that bothers me, is that overtime it really gathered a lot of limestone and seasalt from water and it's really hard to clean all the crevices. And one thing I noticed. Mine is sapphire crystal, why this isn't?
yours is the 3500SYT, the only one with sapphire crystal, titanium and runs the 3444 module (found in PRW 3510) instead of the 3414 usually found in the 3500. which means it also comes with the STN LCD I believe that is the final top of the line PRW -3500 Casio did and threw everything at it before moving on to the 3510. in a sense, it's the best 3500/3510 unit and (I believe) the only one that features both a titanium band and sapphire
@@o.ozanbilen7113 not really, the glass is very deeply set within the bezel so it's not likely to be impacted. on the other hand, you probably get more sand and other dirt on it that can scratch the glass. that being said, you also don't quite need sapphire to survive it so it's not exactly important.
The sensor cover plate on this watch is a hard plastic resin material although it looks great and could easily be confused for a milled aluminum. Hopefully it will hold up over time. Thanks for your question and for tuning in!
Hi. So i have a question, is the LCD actually greenish, or white? I keep google-ing this watch and in some pictures the display is perfect white and on some green. In your vid is slightly green. So which is it? Thank you
Excellent question... and tough to answer because I feel that my video captures the color of the display on my version pretty accurately. In natural light, you do get the slightly greener hue but seems mostly warm white/grayish, definitely not a solid calculator-green. In the lights-out shot with the backlight engaged, the green sort of washes out a bit and it leans more to blueish/white. Hope that helps somewhat, thanks for watching!
@@nobetagear Thank you for your feedback. Mainly i asked so I know for sure, if there's another variant with the greenish display. But since there is only one, yours (not counting the different color ones) then i can safety buy it without wandering if I got the right one or not. Cause I do have to say that the greenish display defo look prettier than a white one, for me at least. So thx again. Enjoy your watch, I have a GG1000 Mudmaster, same price. But its not solar, and after 2y runs out of battery and has less features unlike the GWG1000. And if you change the battery it will get foggy so u need to send it to a casio maintenance store. Sucks...
Very good question, you’re definitely pushing the outer reaches of the North American region’s signal. Hope there is a local source that can help you verify this. Good luck and thanks for watching!
So can pick this up for $297 CDN right now on sale from $450 cdn. My wrist is about 7-7.25 in though so might be too big? At that price it’s tempting. I’m tired of my Apple Watch. Distracting at best and needs a charge every couple of days.
@@nobetagear Bought it. Nice watch. But just me or the display really dim especially in low light almost unreadable? I thought power save might be the cause but turning it off didn’t have any noticeable difference. I also have the PRG-270. Screen is more readable but I much like the 3500 more as far as features and overall build quality.
could you please tell me your wrist size in diameter. Would have been really helpful to decide whether its gonna fit in my wrist or not . Thanks in advance
You certainly helped me set the time but the manner in which your fingers were displayed made it for me very difficult to determine exactly which button you were selecting!
Was $220 on Amazon but I got a $100 gift card on there so $120 and taxes? Had to do it. Didn't buy it for daily wear but after getting it, I might have to split wear time with my "old faithful" (G Shock GW-A1100).
I prefer the PRW 2500! It displayed more information on the screen (day date AND month) plus it had a duplex screen which was great for compass reading etc. The only things the new PRWs have over the 2500 are faster and more advanced sensors!
Good question... As far as I know the outer ring is used to show direction in compass mode and for use w/ the alarm setting in Barometer mode. (If you look closely at the promo pics online the outer ring is not in sync with the seconds). I may be wrong but I believe seconds is only displayed on the bottom (3rd field) of the display on this unit. Thanks for watching!
@@nobetagear OK thanks. I have an older prw3500 I haven't used in a while and I thought you could change the way seconds were displayed. Although while typing this, it just hit me, that was the Garmin Fenix I &II watches I had. Oh well. :) Excellent review btw. (I have one coming tomorrow from Amazon)
Good question...I'm sure there are other compatible replacements but the strap on this watch is very high quality so I can see it lasting a very long time.
I read one review that talked about this but every other review says it's quite bright. I have an old battery Ironman with neg display and it very easy to read ???????
Sorry to hear that… I’m not sure but watch the video and compare. My philosophy is: if it doesn’t seem right, it’s wrong. If that’s the case, send it back. Good luck, keep me posted!
According to Casio’s website the low-temperature resistance on this watch is indeed -10C/14F …not bad for an LED display, but would definitely wrap it up good or cover the screen as best you can under extreme conditions to ensure proper function…Good luck and thanks for tuning in!
The color of the band is green (I would describe it as flat, hunter green) with black accents (buckle and keeper). This video captures the colors of my version pretty accurately. Thanks for watching!
@@nobetagear That's what I thought from the picture on Sam's Club where I ordered it but they called the band dark gray. Should be here in a few days. Got extra excited after the video. Thanks
If you compare with PRW-2500, you can easily notice that Casio removed - tide graph and moon information. Instead of going to add new, they remove very important ones. If I need something expensive, I buy golden ones (investment), but this watch should be "functional". 2500 model is 8-10 years old but until now there is no any Casio, that is better than that. Am I wrong?
The PRW-2500 is a very cool looking watch as well. Definitely on my list of watches I want to get. Hopefully I will get to do a comparison. Thanks for your feedback!

@@nobetagearhere we are a year later and just bought the Protrek!! Thanks for the video!
@@grizzle1629how do you like yours?
@@paulpeter2869 I ended up sending it back because it did not sit well on my wrist. :(
ProTech gets it right... You can have a watch that is stylish with a Rugged look & performs a multitude of things.⌚⌚ Every ProTech watch has exceeded my expectation.👂🏽👂🏿👂🏼👂👂🏻
Thanks for your feedback and for tuning in!
Thanks so much for tuning in!
any recommendation for a replacement watch bands?
Great video. What's your wrist size?
Thanks so much, my wrist size is approx 6-7/8.
@@nobetagear much appreciated!
thank you for the video. also comment section offers lots of useful knowledge. 👌
Thanks so much for tuning in!
Excellent review! Thank you!
Thanks so much for tuning in!
Great watch. Awesome review bro!!
Thanks so much for tuning in!
Just curious what size is your wrist? just trying to figure it out how big it will look on mine
6.75 wrist size…still one of my every day favorite watches.
I have the PRW3500, is it worth the money to change to this? - or better, is it more advanced?
The PRW3500 is great, pretty much the same capabilities/features as my 3510....the main difference is the display
@@nobetagear thanks!
Beautiful watch I've love this model of pro trek...
Absolutely agree, thanks for watching!
Great video!
Thank you for your awesome videos!!
Thanks so much for tuning in!
Awesome video. Very informative. 🤟🏼
Greatly appreciated, cheers!
Order one up last week on line it arrived yesterday 👍😁😍
Very cool, thanks for tuning in!
Hi there, is this an actual Casio watch?
Is there a legit link where I can go and buy it?
This is indeed an authentic Casio….Amazon: Casio Men's 'PRO TREK' Tough Solar Powered and Stainless Steel Watch, Color:Green (Model: PRW-3510Y-8CR) a.co/d/8dwfCBo
I bought the PRG-240 and use it while working on my Ranch, I just order the PRW 3510Y because I love my other watch and really light the reverse display, I think it will be easier to read. You can't have enough good watches. Lol.
How do they compare? I’m predominantly an analogue watch guy with a Seiko and JLC reverso but really want a tougher watch with features for camping and hiking that I’m hoping to do more, be great if you had feedback as these are the two I’m looking at👍🏼
@@manuel_winde
I like the PRW 3510Y better, it has Radio controlled time keeping and a better band.
@@MrWrestler41 yeah I originally looked at the titanium bracelet version (3500 I think) but the 3510 looks awesome, just worried it will dwarf my 7in wrist 😄. Thanks for the advice anyway mate 👍🏼👍🏼
@@manuel_winde
I have almost an 8" wrist and I like the size.
Please, what is this cool Bluesy music in your Intro? And where can I find it? 🙏
You’re too kind, that’s the NoBetaGear theme I wrote/recorded in my studio. Thanks for tuning in!
@@nobetagear DAMN! It sounds sweet! I wish there was a 5min or endless loop of it. Perfect highway cruising music!
4:55 yes sometimes the band is made in a different country than the watch.
that lightup time limit is a dealbreaker for me i hope the other protreks arnt like that aswell
I love this watch, just purchased one from amazon Canada for $238 CAD.... However, when I am out hiking I wear my Garmin Fenix 7x.... Can't beat topo maps when hiking in unknown areas...
Very cool, thanks for tuning in!
Great feedback, still enjoying this watch very much...I definitely wish it had sapphire crystal! Thanks for tuning in!
yours is the 3500SYT, the only one with sapphire crystal, titanium and runs the 3444 module (found in PRW 3510) instead of the 3414 usually found in the 3500. which means it also comes with the STN LCD
I believe that is the final top of the line PRW -3500 Casio did and threw everything at it before moving on to the 3510. in a sense, it's the best 3500/3510 unit and (I believe) the only one that features both a titanium band and sapphire
@@ferexx dont you think sapphire is a little fragile for the environment this watch is aimed for_?
@@o.ozanbilen7113 not really, the glass is very deeply set within the bezel so it's not likely to be impacted. on the other hand, you probably get more sand and other dirt on it that can scratch the glass. that being said, you also don't quite need sapphire to survive it so it's not exactly important.
Awesome review
Thanks so much for tuning in!
What watch you wearing?
What is the material of the cover for the sensors? Is that metal? Similar to the buttons? Or just plastic? Thanks.
Sucks...
@@Hatrious Agreed, Tough Solar is definitely one of my favorite features on a watch! Thanks and good luck!
Any Canadians here? I wonder if the Multiband 6 function works fine in Alberta.
Thank you for this video.
Very good question, you’re definitely pushing the outer reaches of the North American region’s signal. Hope there is a local source that can help you verify this. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Worked in Edmonton when I lived there.
So can pick this up for $297 CDN right now on sale from $450 cdn. My wrist is about 7-7.25 in though so might be too big?
At that price it’s tempting. I’m tired of my Apple Watch. Distracting at best and needs a charge every couple of days.
This watch should fit your wrist size nicely. Awesome watch!
@@stephane184 interesting sorry to hear about the dim screen. My version seems perfect to me, hope it gets resolved for you.
is this thing some sort of triple sensor chronograph?
Which better between this protrek vs gshock rangeman?
Glorious video.
How does this compare with prw3400?
could you please tell me your wrist size in diameter. Would have been really helpful to decide whether its gonna fit in my wrist or not . Thanks in advance
Thanks for the feedback, my wrist is on the M/S size, approx 6.75”.
Great review, man.
Thank you sir!
Great review, thanks
Much appreciated!
You certainly helped me set the time but the manner in which your fingers were displayed made it for me very difficult to determine exactly which button you were selecting!
I appreciate your feedback, I will definitely keep that in mind on future vids. Thanks for tuning in!
Was $220 on Amazon but I got a $100 gift card on there so $120 and taxes? Had to do it. Didn't buy it for daily wear but after getting it, I might have to split wear time with my "old faithful" (G Shock GW-A1100).
Awesome watch, still one of my favorites! Thanks for tuning in!
I prefer the PRW 2500! It displayed more information on the screen (day date AND month) plus it had a duplex screen which was great for compass reading etc. The only things the new PRWs have over the 2500 are faster and more advanced sensors!
Thanks for watching and for your feedback!
Gran reloj espero comprarlo muy buena review te felicito

How do you get the seconds to be displayed in the dots on the outer ring like some of the pictures online?

If the wrist strap wears out, is it easier to buy one.
Good question...I'm sure there are other compatible replacements but the strap on this watch is very high quality so I can see it lasting a very long time.
Its awesome

I should replace my prw3500..😂
The 3500 rocks too! Thanks for watching!

Casio, this watch needs a real bezel ring. Free spin just does not work. I love the watch. Retired military.
Wow Amazing
Thanks for watching!
Received my watch and the display is very dim. Any thoughts? It's fully charged (H)!!
Are you sure it has limitation of -10 C Today in Calgary it is -30 C so I guess this watch would not survive ...
According to Casio’s website the low-temperature resistance on this watch is indeed -10C/14F …not bad for an LED display, but would definitely wrap it up good or cover the screen as best you can under extreme conditions to ensure proper function…Good luck and thanks for tuning in!
Good job
Thanks so much!
What color is the band? Different sources disagree....
How to reset ABC sensors?
Unsure if there is any way to reset the sensors on this watch other than pulling the battery and replacing. Thanks for tuning in!
