You posted this video exactly when I needed it, was searching for a Trangia (or a knock off) with stainless pots for a few days and I was asking myself if that GSI kettle would nest well in the Trangia with Duossal pots and if it was possible to add some additional plates inside... and here you are, thank you! 😄
@@gj6041 Awesome, I’m so happy that my video has been helpful to someone 😀 The GSI Kettle fits perfectly with all your bits & bobs inside. I had read that you need a pot stand to make it work but you don’t, although you do have to be careful when you position it as it can slip off, a pot stand would help in this regard but also something else to carry. The Trangia plates fit on the outside at the bottom, I haven’t successfully managed to strap them in yet but I don’t need to as I have that bushcraft bag. This gives me an idea for a video, maybe my Trangia set up. Thanks for watching 👍
@@erniethecat198 Thank you, I look forward to more cooking :) I prefer the idea of using the spirt burner but I have just bought the new storm gas burner for when I need a bit more heat ie heavy wind. If you watched my most recent video, I really struggled to cook my chicken.
Or not used frozen/partially frozen food? As I suspect was done? In 50 years of using my Trangia 25 I have never needed to refill with fuel during cooking. Especially when cooking a full English breakfast? Lol. I get a full English and a kettle of water for tea/coffee, out of a full stove of fuel.
@@bathcolin Food was definitely not frozen or even partially frozen. Only chilled from the fridge. I was thinking it was because the wind was blowing through the gap while using the fry pan and blowing the flame away from the bottom of the pan. Have you managed to use the fry pan in strong winds ok and still cook efficiently?
Love the trangia, gives me so many options when outdoors and saves me lots of money on having to buy feeeze dried camping meals. Okay, it's a tad bulky but its well worth the extra effort to bring it. Food is better, fuel is cheaper and its just far more satisfying to cook your own meals.
@@JTRavers69 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your Trangia experience. I’m beginning to feel the same way, actually really enjoy using it & it has many options that I’m discovering the more I use it 👍
@LoneWolfExplorer I've used mind to boil, poach, fry, steam and bake. What got me hooked was the evening I made a beef and lamb stew on the side of a mountain. It was brutally cold, and the wind & rain was relentless. That stew, and warmth after it, will forever live in my memory.. 😁
Another great video pal. Always beautifully calming and peaceful 👌 like you sad ‘what’s the rush’
@@OutAndAbout-UK Thank you mate, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I try not to rush when out and about as that’s the whole point to slow down 👍
A nice little cook out cracking looking setup, very true food always tastes better outdoors especially with views like that
@@360OutdoorAdventures Thanks mate. It’s true isn’t it, even a cup of tea tastes better outdoors. I think it’s because it takes a bit more effort.

As your using a cool box you could have precooked the sausage by 50% to save fuel and time
@@erniethecat198 Yes I could have done that but I do prefer to cook from fresh. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll keep
It in mind 👍
I look forward to seeing more of your cooking videos, pleased to see your just using spirit and not gas
