I think they were called "Space Cabs". I have one as well. Possibly closer to the condition of yours than this. I am contemplating restoring it. May just do a freshen up though.
Fantastic job, looks dead cool, liked the way you made the new windscreen, never seen that done on a Tonka restoration before. Helpful hint though, aluminium is easier to bend in an annealed state, and it’s a piece of cake to do. Rub a bar of soap over the aluminium and then heat with a blowtorch until the soap goes black, the aluminium should be in its annealed state then. Obviously you need to work it fairly quickly because it will age harden. Hopefully that will help you on future projects.
You have deliverd a beautiful restoration. The ramps are also a wonderful extension. It is a pity that the making of the windshield is not clearly recorded. Wer war eigentlich dein Kameraman oder-fraude? Grűße aus den Niederlanden.
Brilliant work mate. Thanks for putting up the strength of hydro peroxside im just about to stock up on caps rivits etc etc and didnt know what strength to get. If i had of got stronger would it affect the plastic and out come?
Tell you now there is no way he made a new windshield using that process thats why the film was cut just where did the block of wood in the middle come from? cleaned up original with the old floor polish trick or had a repro part to use
Nice and perfect👍👍
Great job I like the auto ramps you fabricated now gets some cars for the trailer.

Some of the shots in this video make me think someone got a new macro lens 😋
The windshield is in good condition, without cracking. I don't see the need to make a new one
It was scuffed and battered. It might clean up with some polishing, but it would still be old and brittle.

I do not know that. In Germany you can buy a maximum of 10%
Almost perfect, should've UV the headlights too and looks like it's missing the taillights? Otherwise an outstanding restore!
Retrobrite, sandblasting, AND powder coat? Is it my birthday?
I agree with Bill Schipper, get some cars to place on the trailer
Love the video. Could i ask for more detail on the new windshield?

Great Video! I actually just restored an old 1960s Tonka Dump truck over on my channel!
Factory original green paint on the Medium size aka mini Tonka auto carrier rig
You should make a video on windshield making

No tail lights? What goes on the back of those?
