Best anime movie ever. I wished to see Kyon open that door, i wanted to walk in with him, have Mikuru's tea, be annoyed with Haruhi, have a deep conversation with Kwoysumi, Nudge Yuki to be a normal human child. Such a great piece of work disappearance is, a Masterpiece in every aspect .
"...to fully understand the dissapearence of Haruhi Suzumiya, is to feel this boredom; to feel this frustation; to have the memory of going through this." (Endless 8) Never have I felt closer to anyone about this theme than right now. These have been my exact thoughts about Endless 8 and Dissapearance, to the letter. Thank you for putting them in a video. Also, small note: Haruhi mentioned in the "first" ep. (see what iI did there?) that she wanted to meet aliens, time-travelers, ESPers, *and sliders*. So in the show we got aliens (Yuki), time-travelers (Asahina), ESPers (Koizumi). And Kyon ended up filling the missing role by being the slider in the movie. And thus completing the roster of the SOS brigade. Or Haruhi just willed them all that way.
I was rewatching the series and realised that it was kyon who initiated the entire thing about believing in time travellers, aliens and espers, which got me thinking... Perhaps kyon was actually the God and not Haruhi? In not wanting to accept that time travellers, aliens and espers don't exist, he unwittingly created the pseudo God "Haruhi" that held his exact thoughts OK the matter and gave her powers (and hence the excuse of accountability) So the premise of the movie, that Nagato changed the world for kyon, is actually what kyon wanted initially (to have a taste of the normal life), but upon tasting the boredom of everyday life, wanted back? I remember watching this series many years ago. The silliness of the "slice of life" was quite relatable. The endless 8 arc was actually very enjoyable... After the first few episodes I was thinking "OK how long do they intend to do this" and I started to try and notice any subtle difference between the episodes. All in all, the series and the movies was one of my favorite anime of all time.
@@VictorChen9 I think that’s why it is told to him to not let Haruhi know. So long as he keeps this secret, he can live in this world. He’s the slider, if he feels bored with his life, the world will literally change. I also think he might be a little schizophrenic to create such a colorful world with his mind.
You can tell he didn't watch Endless Eight when it first came out, because he's actually defending it as a good story. If he had watched this same horrid episode come out week after week for two full months (and they didn't announce they were doing this beforehand remember, this didn't leak and not one single person expected it would go on that long or even be a possibility for season 2) as you slowly realize this great series is dying before your eyes thanks to one of the biggest miscalculations of all time, he'd hate it as much as I do. It's perhaps the worst experience with any television series I've ever had, and I ended up being right because there still hasn't been a season 3 after more than 13 years and there almost certainly never will be. Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody was amazing, and the first Endless Eight episode was perfectly fine by itself, and then half the season just disappeared for nothing. Destroying this series forever just to justify Yuki's actions in the Disappearance wasn't worth it, and I know they only did this because they needed something to fill out the rest of the season and had no other viable options, not because they thought it was a good idea narratively.
I'm truly glad that people still break down this materpiece, I watched the film two days ago and I've somehow felt an emptiness since then which I'm trying to vent by watching every single video that is concerned with HS. As for the video, I've always found interesting the way in which anime portrays emotions. It's undoubtedly the appeal of the genre Slice of Life the objectivity when it comes to portraying emotions to the audience through the enhancement of the insight of the characters. From external sections such as the visuals and the sountracks through internal aspects in the way the series explores its themes, it's intense and gesticulated in order to emphasize that energy as well as it's subdued, motionless and gloomy when a more daunting situation merits it, still it manages to be subtle enough to keep that deep-rooted gist of the genre, which is deeply conveyed in the film all the way through Kyon's epiphany to Nagato's catharsis. Thanks for the video and the analysis , it shows your engagement with your channel as well as your respect towards the series :)
You really got to express how I feel about this movie. Watching haruhi's endless 8 almost made me drop the series, but I could not stop thinking "why they bothered re animating all the scenes, this can be for no reason" and then the payback arrived. This movie is really engraved on my heart as one of my favorites and cemented kyoani as one of my favorite studios. Thanks for your effort and keep it up with the content! (Btw I came here from UTS Twitter, so thanks to him I guess haha)
I forgot to mention. For me the biggest testament of how great this movie is is that it made me watch AND enjoy the dissapearance of Nagato Yuki Chan just to be able to visit this gorgeous universe once more.
I am so glad people are still talking about Haruhi Suzumiya and our favorite sarc-boy Kyon even in this new decade of the 20s. And in a good-ass video essay like this! Big up on the content bro! I am now subbed!
Calling Disappearance a masterpiece is an understatement when the whole series is. It's the best anime ever made Haruhi was never "silly comedy", it was always a meaningfull, serious series, the comedy side is only the surface
I specifically were searching for people with whom I can discuss this - everything considering Haruhi is a garbage especially the movie. What I got - fricking trash (excluding technical aspect of course). After watching all 2 seasons (including Endless Eight) and the movie I just can't understand why everyone loves Haruhi - she is a bitch who does not deserve any sympathy. I hoped it will be resolved in the movie and that is why I watched the show but in the end all returned as it was. God damn it!
Thank you. I do really mean that: I needed this: not a review of the movie, not a comment about the anime, or the light novels, but a video essay which includes both the themes of the movie and of the anime as a whole. I've shown this movie (and the anime) to some special persons in my life, but, to all of them, Endless Eight was a death sentence, regarding the interest for the series. I wholeheartedly disagree: as you argue, I think it's one of the best arcs ever put to anime, and to story-telling itself I'd add. Is it possible to convey eternity? Could it be done? Is it boring to do and to experience it? Isn't it harrowing? And you even use several music pieces by The Midnight, and you even comment on the recent and tragic events that took place on Kyoto Animation. I couldn't be happier. Thank for making, writing, editing and showing us an outstanding video essay about one of my most beloved anime series ever. I miss so much this series and I don't think it'll ever return, but even though it doesn't, it has made such an impression to me, that I cherish it deeply and resonantes to me even to this day, even more than a decade since The Disapperance of Haruhi Suzumiya came to be. It's sad that you don't have as much subscribers as you deserve, but, for all that matters, here's another one. Subbed you instantly after writing this comment. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you so much for the awesome comment and the sub! It really does mean a lot that my videos are able to impact people in this manner. I’m glad I was able to do that for you 🙂
This movie is the reason why I've rewatched the series 7 times, because I have to rewatch the series everytime I want to rewatch the movie. This is my favorite film of all time
This is probably my all time favourite anime movie. It's an easy 10/10 for me. It's head and shoulders above everything the melancholy did during its run. It's a shame it's so slept on. Probably because a lot of people dropped this show due to the endless 8.
@@KazeTalks Do you ever intend to go dive in depth with Steins gate? That would be an interesting and entertaining video. Although I think tons of other youtubers have already done that.
I could have cried how powerful this was. I loved this movie way back in the 2010s, the series in general - which is why Haruhi is my eternal favorite anime character or if you want, my waifu.
This video was really good. Put into words my feelings from watching the culmination of the Haruhi story, the disappearance of suzumiya harhui. The anime that got me into and being interested in Japan, Japanese langauge, and Japanese culture. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Thank you for this And, thank you for mentioning about what happened at Kyoto Animation Such a terrible loss for group that helped us feel our humanity
I'm glad you enjoyed my video 🙂 And yeah, I remember feeling heartbroken at the time and I really wanted to mention it in some way. They had such a massive impact on all of us and I hope they are recovering as best as possible.
An amazing recap of one of the best anime series of all time, which most of us haven't watched in a decade or so. Always felt the same about the Endless Eight arc, it was obvious upon watching that each ep was different, and wasn't a BS "cost-saving" animation like people claim. Hard to get through, but they didn't cut corners--they made it hard for it's own sake. I can't really exaggerate on just how perfectly balanced and well-rounded the entire anime (+ film) is. The slice of life + supernatural as you said, the plot complexity, the AMAZING ENGLISH DUB (one of the best of all time). You put into words something that I couldn't, and never realized till now, which is that one of the defining points of the series is Kyon's internal narrative. This, combined with the amazing Eng dub, makes the series "flow" in a way that no other anime does. It feels very natural. Nothing feels forced or cringe-inducing. Seriously, if anyone wants to get into anime but hates reading subtitles, WATCH THIS SERIES. Another thing is the soundtrack--both opening and closing sequences, as well as the background music, and the in-story band music (God Knows, Lost my Music). Easily one of the best OSTs in all of cinema. In addition to what you recapped in the video, all the background music and animation really gives you a sense of calm, "life goes on" sort of feeling, even if you're not a particularly anxious person. I highly recommend listening to "Itsuumo no Fuukei". Thanks for making OC about the series even 10 years later. Sad to see it over, but happy to see it happened.
Thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video 🙂 Funny you should talk about the Dub. I’m not one to watch Dubs (nothing against them, I just prefer the original versions), but I remember putting the film on again shortly after watching it for the first time. And when I did, I decided to watch the Dub to give it a chance (I heard great things about the dub). And while I do prefer the sub, I throughly enjoyed the dub too. So yeah, you can’t really go wrong with either.
@@KazeTalks No problem, man. Yeah I'm not trying to knock the sub. It's just that anime as a medium has a huge problem with dubbing, with a majority of dubs having non-sequitirs, unnatural pacing, and just becoming overall cringefests. Haruhi has none of that, so it's a perfect starting point for someone who just doesn't feel like reading subtitles. (Subs have other advantages, but they definitely take more mental resources and can distract from the overall story for some people) Admittedly this problem got better over the last decade or so, which actually just makes the Haruhi series even more exemplary, to have had such a great English dub all the way back in 2006.
Yeah I totally forgot about the dub!. Even I (for whom English is clearly not his native language) enjoyed the dub almost as much as the sub. kyon voice specially was able to convey all the emotions the character is feeling through the movie.
This film blew me away, i thought the show was just ok, it wasnt my cup of tea but i heard this movie was really good so i watched it anyway, at the end of the second season i wasnt sure if the movie was going to be as good as people say but man was i wrong, this movie is a masterpiece, one of my favorite movies of all time
Amazing analysis! I’ve been in love with this movie since I first saw and have watched every year since. You helped me realize some aspects of it that I hadn’t really thought about before. Its such a wonderful work of art. Absolutely great video!
I am one of those who painfully watched the endless eight at the time it was airing. Other people then thought it was unnecessary but I feel it is just right to highlight the reasons for Yuki’s breakdown. If viewers got bored what more for her who had to live through summer over and over for 16,000 times. Back then the reason people complain about the endless eight is because it took years for Haruhi Suzumiya to get a sequel. And 8 out of the 14 eps are same episodes. People want more light novel stuff crammed in that than the endless 8 repeat. The novel I think only took 1 volume for the endless eight arc. I read it btw as well the disappearance arc. The movie did so much justice for the novel.
I was just thinking about this film again as I finally picked up season 1 yesterday (it's a rare find in the UK). This series has always held a special place in my heart, and I think you summed up the movie beautifully.
Just finished the anime a few days ago and the movie an hour ago. This is by and far my favorite anime of all time. An experience that is hard to put into words. I'm extremely happy I put up with the endless eight and watched them all... It was long, but well worth it. Nagato is a gem
A nicely written and well researched analysis. Thank you. I was particulary impressed with how you picked up on those nuances in Nagato's changing eye-line when she was trying to persuade Kyon to stay for dinner. It's those little moments that really speak volumes and show the excellence in the writing. Less is definitely more. You've gained a new subscriber - and now I'm going to binge watch the rest of your videos.
This is quite literally the best anime ever for its genre and what it does *period* Kind of a shame I couldn't finish watching The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Anyways I'll go find it on YT cause I watched it on YT like 6 or so tears ago. Also calling this a Masterpiece is a insult. Calling this *God's Work* is better despite being a bit of an understatement
I've been meaning to talk about The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya for a while now. I vividly remember, not just watching it for the first time, but mostly just thinking about it for weeks on end, trying to understand all the layers it had underneath. And the more I thought about it, the more I loved it. So, here is my personal interpretation on why I believe this film to be a cinematic masterpiece. Very well said. This movie hits in every way possible because not only you are watching it, but you feel the moments that are happening. Especially those moments that can leave the viewer with confusion, frustration, shock, and being sentimental. I’m sure that this was Kyoto Animation’s goal and they nailed it phenomenally well and I’m glad that the studio has made more great films. 11/10 film.
Yeah... I like to add a game here... Disco Elysium... It's loads of more thicker, but got me easy at some points. P.s. the "fake world" was just that. Even if Yuki seems to not show emotions, this fake world was a shining light, and question at the same time, that would he want to be blinded by it, and settle in the darkness that it brings, or try to see what he might be able to find. Sure it's tough move, but being real takes bit more than that.
Do you guys remember that episode where the sos brigade did a bunch of things on summer vacation for the last 2 weeks? Like they went to the pool and the festival and the fireworks? That was a good episode right guys?
For me, what did it was the rooftop scene at the end with Kyon and Nagato. She was always the easy to forget and overlooked character because "yeah, she's just and android, she's got no feelings". But I'll be damned, she was hurting in the end, and just wanted enough. I honestly hated the Endless Eight first time watching, but after watching the movie, and seeing how she was the one behind the changes. It gave me an appreciation of the arc. So I agree, it's an amazing movie. The series didn't really resonate with me honestly, and I never understood why everyone was so hyped by the series, but I was glad I stuck with it purely because of the movie and the rewarding watch it is!!
I love every second of this movie but kyons depression monologues in the beginning shows everyone how even without the huge bombastic plot elements, it works with just kyon, music, and color/ camera work, a great call back to classic film. Don't get me started on the ending into the credits. Goat movie
good take on the film and series. loved the endless eight too, best take on the time loop i've seen so far. most time it's just some hours or a day in the loop and the movies/series only show 2-3 short loops and later some key scenes to resolve the loop. but showing 8 mostly identical episodes made you really feel the loop and i have to copy your words, i've watched it like you in one go and had to imagine how frustrating it had been seeing it airing over 2 months. with this presentation style the loop had a much bigger emotional impact and meaning when someone said how many loops they're been in it. also loved the scene when he found haruhi, it was so well composed, the music, the silence and just seeing parts of her, the hair in slow mo and his hesitation. you described it really well.
I haven't watched this movie in over ten years and still remember that scene where we really get insight on Kyon's thought process on making "his choice". This film was ALWAYS underrated, I remember crying from how powerful the emotions are protrayed and feeling so hard for Nagato. Realizing how much she really endured, and how powerful Haruhi's disappearance really effected Kyon, and he really lost his composure. This movie made the show make SO much more sense, giving us a realistic view on it all from Nagato's view, and watching Kyon really develop and mature to be able to accept his life the way it was. I don't know why I had to watch this video tonight, but I am so glad I did. I haven't felt such powerful emotion from an anime since.
Watching the endless eight saga in real time was one of the most surreal times in my anime watching time. I will never forget it. I love haruhi so much
Thanks! For some reason, I have really tied Synthwave to Anime when it comes to conveying certain feelings and emotions. And The Midnight are just incredible with so many of their emotional tracks.
I just finished watching the movie. It was an absolute masterpiece. I can't really tell what i liked or i disliked but i'm sure i loved it. Masterpiece.
I was completely unaware of I was watching but the storytelling of Haruhi Suzumiya grew on me as I got older. I was around my teens when I started watching the series, along with the movie. But for some reason, I found myself religiously watching the Disappearance every Christmas break around December 16. Around the same time where the movie took place. It resonated with me more on what it felt about making choices, growing up, and taking things for granted. To this day the movie is still super special to me. I will never forget what kinds of lessons I learned after re watching it for almost 10 years repeatedly now. To me this movie was a message, a message about the grandeur of life, the laughter we share among friends, and the moments to cherish it while it lasts. It may be just another memory, but it's what feeds our souls, making us who we are. As per the words of Adult Mikuru in the movie: "When it's all over, you'll feel it went by so fast, like you were living a beautiful dream."
Great analysis, this is easily one of my favorite anime movies, maybe even in the running for one of my favorite movies in general. I am actually in the middle of reading through the whole light novel series for the first time, and I am seeing the different elements that are used when telling a story in a book and telling it on screen, like how the rooftop scene just takes place in the hospital room, since the emotion has to be conveyed with descriptive language rather than visuals. Anyway, it’s a real shame what happened to Kyoto Animation. I certainly hope that they are able to rebuild and put out new masterpieces.
Love this deep dive. I watched this film a long time ago and was impressed with the depth of storytelling. Great concept and I'd love to watch the series.
Bro I can't I just finished it 😭😭😭 better than steinsgate better than everything, funny thing is I was filling to give this shit a solid 10/10 even without the movie, but goddamn the movie was perfect. Like legit, perfection, amazing
I love this movie and i really needed to watch this video. I don't speak English fluently, so he's a little rusty, but I managed to understand just about everything you say in the video, the way you speak is incredible. Congratulations! I will be watching your other videos, so keep in mind that you have won yet another subscriber. Thanks for this video.
there is a channel which goes in depth frame by frame analysis of Disppearance, in some 4 videos, if you are a lover of this anime , i highly recommend you guys watch it :)
Gorgeous animations, amazing and deep story, opressive atmosphere, unreal soundtrack. My mother, who never watched more than 2 episodes of the show, loved it. Everybody who watched it with me loved it and was deeply touched by it. The only other movie that gets under my skin like this one are Roman Holiday. It very tangibly influenced my life (as the show itself) for better. A bit of a personal story: when I watched this movie for the first time, pirated, in 2015, my computer speakers were busted, so I watched it with subtitles on and Pink Floyd playing in the backround (Division Bell and Calling All Stations). From that point on, some scenes are for me forever linked with very specific Pink Floyd songs, and every time I listen to them, that particular scene just plays in my head. That is the official soundtrack for me.
I thank you for such an excellent analysis! Feels like the whole series in a way is a build up to this movie. And man, does it deliver. This film is true cinematic perfection in every way possible, with it's incredible visuals, profound themes, gripping plot, and a perfect soundtrack to back it all up. It gave depth to all it's characters, especially Yuki Nagato, making her one of my favourites, despite her lack of character shown previously. I can safely say that despite the show having it's great and not so great moments, it's definetly all worth it in the end just for this masterpiece of a film. 10/10
Good review. Haruhi isn't a masterpiece for nothing. Even the music is exceptional. For example, the bg music when Nagato on scene is not just sad but weirdly sad something is so alien. God knows is reach 100 millions views last year fyi. Btw, what do you think of the credit scene in the movie. And the scene when before Kyon leave Nagato apartment with adult Asahina. He said to alien Nagato wait for him and Haruhi in the room. And Nagato replied that shock Kyon. I felt like she was answer that not because of her duty but she chose to. It like the Clannad after story when Nagisa still chose MC in the end even though she knows how it will end. And the bitting scene is look like a kiss, romantic but sadly a kiss to say goodbye her first love.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙂 In regards to the credit scene, it seems to be the confirmation that Nagato isn’t at all emotionless. That she still wanted a life where she could connect with someone deeply in just a normal way. I wanted to touch upon that in my video, but I kind of already mentioned that aspect anyways, so trimmed it for time and pacing. In regards to the other scenes, since it’s the moment that Kyon learns that it was Nagato who changed the world, it definitely feels like Kyon becomes aware of the fact that he rejected Nagato. How Nagato is saying goodbye with the “kiss” and Kyon still tries to at least keep her in his life in some way. Which the end of the film shows us when he shows Nagato how much she means to him, despite it not being what she really wanted. So it’s adding even more to the established themes of the film, especially on a rewatch when you know everything that is going on. My opinion of course. It just goes to show how intricate the film really is.
I haven’t yet. Just the Kyoto Animation anime show and film. But I’ve heard it’s great and has more stories to tell beyond the film which is really intriguing.
@@KazeTalks Well, if you didn't read the LN then i can't tell you much but it was seem Nagato will die. By die in alien sense is like being erased like Asakura. So i don't really think she will have a second chance with someone else.
In some bits of this video there is stuff that us the viewers watching this video already knew beforehand next time you make a video like this add a little more, but I still love this video and think the movie is a masterpiece!
Excellent review! Your delivery is really superb. Those last couple of minutes gave me goosebumps on how well you outlined what makes KyoAni so special. You have a new subscriber!
I really wanted to know what the rest of the series was about (I only saw the first season when it came out, but I watched it a lot of times, and in Kyon order and Haruhi order). Thank you for making this video!
This Movie made me appreciate Yuki so much.....for me it shows, that she always was the most important Character in the show. Without her, Kyon would have been killed by Asakura. Twice. Without her, everyone would have been roasted by Mikurus beam. Three times. Without her, they probably would still stuck at the summer Vacation. Without her, they wouldnt have Won the Baseball Match AND the Duel against the Computer Club. All of that without any real appreciation from the SOS Members. We cant really blame her for going emotionally nuts in the Movie. Its understandable. In the End, i just wanted to give her one big big hug and never let go of her haha. I shed many manly tears in this Movie and he is and will always be my favourite Anime Movie of all time.

Wow cool!!!!!
king of commitment

Haruhi was never "silly comedy", it was always a meaningfull, serious series, the comedy side is only the surface
Yeah, those kinds of stories are my favorites
can i watch this movie without watching the series?
@@koushik1947 Nah you should watch the series first. At least once in the 2009 (chronological) order.
Good point.

This series is TOO meta. I do believe that, in this moment, Haruhi is using me as a vessel to find her happiness

My favorite anime film underrated classic..
This and steins gate are still my favorite anime of all time.
Yeah, Steins Gate is also fantastic. A thrilling rollercoaster ride.
@@KazeTalks Do you ever intend to go dive in depth with Steins gate? That would be an interesting and entertaining video. Although I think tons of other youtubers have already done that.
Maybe one day. I normally tend to do videos on shows or films that I want to talk about at the time of making them.
A man of culture, I have the same opinion these 2 anime share no.1 for me

I could have cried how powerful this was. I loved this movie way back in the 2010s, the series in general - which is why Haruhi is my eternal favorite anime character or if you want, my waifu.
This video was really good. Put into words my feelings from watching the culmination of the Haruhi story, the disappearance of suzumiya harhui. The anime that got me into and being interested in Japan, Japanese langauge, and Japanese culture. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Thank you for this
And, thank you for mentioning about what happened at Kyoto Animation
Such a terrible loss for group that helped us feel our humanity
Thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
Funny you should talk about the Dub.
(Subs have other advantages, but they definitely take more mental resources and can distract from the overall story for some people)
Admittedly this problem got better over the last decade or so, which actually just makes the Haruhi series even more exemplary, to have had such a great English dub all the way back in 2006.
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate the kind words 🙏
I feel like the endless 8 was so much better than the novel's version, you see a lot more emotion and change from Nagato in the endless 8
The memories of each weeks new episode leading to disappointment are still fresh in my mind.
I was just thinking about this film again as I finally picked up season 1 yesterday (it's a rare find in the UK). This series has always held a special place in my heart, and I think you summed up the movie beautifully.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
That anime haruhi suzumiya is a part of my Life😃
Just finished the anime a few days ago and the movie an hour ago.
That really means a lot, thank you! 🙏
Im going to start the first season now and will watch this video after I get through both seasons and then the movie.
Sounds like a good plan 🙂 Enjoy watching the show and the film then.
When Kyon questioned himself, he realized he didn't want peace. He wants problems always.
Calling this *God's Work* is better despite being a bit of an understatement
you went beyond my expectations

I member!
I wish they could do more of that :(
For me, what did it was the rooftop scene at the end with Kyon and Nagato.
Goat movie
One of the best. As one would say, this is peak fiction
Great video, but i don't understand why isn't it popular
good take on the film and series.
loved the endless eight too, best take on the time loop i've seen so far. most time it's just some hours or a day in the loop and the movies/series only show 2-3 short loops and later some key scenes to resolve the loop. but showing 8 mostly identical episodes made you really feel the loop and i have to copy your words, i've watched it like you in one go and had to imagine how frustrating it had been seeing it airing over 2 months. with this presentation style the loop had a much bigger emotional impact and meaning when someone said how many loops they're been in it.
also loved the scene when he found haruhi, it was so well composed, the music, the silence and just seeing parts of her, the hair in slow mo and his hesitation. you described it really well.
Did you really have to bring up your name, and your lie in april
now im tearing up
I haven't watched this movie in over ten years and still remember that scene where we really get insight on Kyon's thought process on making "his choice".
A wonderful explaination, thank you!
You’re welcome!
Watching the endless eight saga in real time was one of the most surreal times in my anime watching time. I will never forget it. I love haruhi so much
Dude, fantastic video first of all. That movie means so much to so many people and it is a masterpiece in all respects of the word.
Thank you! And yeah, the film is a masterpiece in every possible sense, for sure.
i consider this one of the greatest anime movies ever made. it makes going through the endless 8 worth it.

I just finished watching the movie. It was an absolute masterpiece. I can't really tell what i liked or i disliked but i'm sure i loved it. Masterpiece.
found this a few months back but didnt watch it. im back and i wished i watched this sooner. 5/7/2021
thank you for this. i love it
I was completely unaware of I was watching but the storytelling of Haruhi Suzumiya grew on me as I got older.
Beautiful video
Finally found this video once again So I could enjoy it instead of watching the actual series.

The way you do this video is soooo beautiful! Thank you ❤️
Thank you! This comment made my day 🙏

The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato made the movie feel truly whole to those who felt for Nagato during the movie
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
In regards to the credit scene, it seems to be the confirmation that Nagato isn’t at all emotionless.
@@KazeTalks i wonder if you read the light novel yet?
I haven’t yet. Just the Kyoto Animation anime show and film. But I’ve heard it’s great and has more stories to tell beyond the film which is really intriguing.
@@KazeTalks too bad that it seem Kyoani doesn't want to make ss3 anymore and the author quit writing.
@@KazeTalks Well, if you didn't read the LN then i can't tell you much but it was seem Nagato will die. By die in alien sense is like being erased like Asakura.
So i don't really think she will have a second chance with someone else.

I really wanted to know what the rest of the series was about (I only saw the first season when it came out, but I watched it a lot of times, and in Kyon order and Haruhi order). Thank you for making this video!
God damn love this anime
Best movie i have ever watched
Probably the longest anime move ever made. Two hours and 40 minutes
it was perfect
In a way, I thought of Yuki like The Little Mermaid. She gave up her powers so that she can have normal emotions and be with her prince Kyon ❤
