David Leadbetter advocated the same hip movement, but side-bend anatomy wasn't fully understood a generation ago. I've had the same flat backswing problem on and off for more than 70 years. Next week I will take the Gankas cure. His is the by far best explanation of the correct pivot sequence and shape that I have seen. Hope springs eternal.
Yes it is the best demonstration/explanation of an efficient pivot. What especially hit home for me was the part at the end about that tension in the back leg. Whenever I feel this always hit so much farther especially with 3w and driver.
After discovering GG a couple of months ago, I've become a full-fledged Gankster, waiting for the next load of pearls to drop. My ball striking has never been better, thank you very much!
Hi George. Between your master bump move takeaway and my quick clockwise twirling of my club with both hands and wrist at the end of my backswing I have achieved golf heaven at age 77. Thank you very much. Cheers 😊🥂👍
That is one seriously well trained Johnny. Very interesting. Been needing a few more joints to think about. 🙂 It actually *does* "systematize" some "feels" that have been working of late. "Round the spine". Me likey.
Exactly what i'm working on sice this summer. Bump right with the hip initially, recenter with lots of left knee flex already in backswing and then fire my left leg and hip in downswing. If done right you can just smash your club through impact with very good low point control. Awesome for irons. The longer the club, especially woods, you have to adapt a thing or two. So far easiest way to move the club consistently and with lots of power. And i've tried many moves.
i use a mirror in some of my practice and that kinda helps, always working on the pivot. i would love to have a lesson from george but i think you are in california and i live 3k miles away in massachusetts but these youtube lessons are really helping, thnx.
been working on reaching under with the left arm an with the right hip movement as you well explained, will check the movement with what you explained. thanks again
I would not be able to do any of this. One thought and the only thought I have is to keep my head perfectly still on the takeaway. It’s the only thing that has me hitting consistently
95% of golfers are plagued by chunking the ball. Everything we do is a compensation to not chunk it on the course. We cant even chip without chunking. We dont know how to use the tool. We can all learn in 1 day to hit a nail on the head with a hammer and by the end of the day we can naturally add tremendous power. “Straight jacket golf” instructors twist us up like a pretzel and think we’ll be able to swing freely and powerfully. How do we use the tool and how do we get the club sweeping at the correct height at impact? Teach us that and we can take care of the rest. Do you have any videos you can point me to that will help with this plague
George,,,,,Please help me,,,, I hit the ball,,,then I take deep (1/2 to 3/4” divots that hurting my wrist They call me ,,,” back Hoe”,,, I need to shallow my swing,,,,

Best 8 min in golf swing analysis! Alan

George is the king of making the golf swing more complicated than it needs to be.
Not complicated really at all if you pay attention. Made a lot of sense
All my faults I have or had and had to figure out summarized in 8 minutes. Perfect. Thats a lot of knowledge, that you share.
Geez this was a great video..lots packed in !
Loved seeing G explain and “show”. The moves!! Great stuff
Best analysis I have ever seen on backswing pivot. So helpful thank you. Have a feeling I will be reviewing this video a lot of times :)

Love me some GG golf. Lets get some videos of you out there on the course playing. Could be great content.
Man, that‘s a lot to think about!
They are video checkpoints not swing thoughts. :)
Not that hard g

I agree you have the exact same " feels" I do!
Feels like a slingshot fully stretched and get that nice baby draw with the ball making that sweet air breaking sound as it leaves the club head.

I need this guy to analyze my swing!!!!

Unreal stuff, as always

Glad it was helpful

for some reason golf is not instinctive.
🔥🔥
This looks like an old school Snead type of take away.

So, hit that ball, chief.
must be nice to have that flexibility, ,,,great swing!
cut to the chase bud.
What’s your with that hat?
It’s unfortunately his trademark. I love his work but that hat 😢
If cocaine taught golf
Horribly complicated
Looks like it's a miracle to hit the ball at all
why is this guy dressed like an 8 year old?
Why do you make asinine irrelevant comments?
George cut to the point don’t need all the myriad of stuff we don’t need.
We know you’re a good coach 😊
