Did anyone else buy confetti grenades by accident and use them in a crucial fight for a last hit just to do no damage and die? I actually laughed but i cried on the inside.
She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute. It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this weapon...for twelve seconds."
Until you get Nidhogg you can actually find - or probably buy - some Explosive Fuselage mods that will let you have an explosive heavy machinegun too which is nice.
My heavy uses fire damage. I went with disciple of the metal & pyromaniac. Put points in heavy weapons get all perks & toaster repair to get the last 2 perks and 1 skill point in explosive to get the 1st perk for fire resistance. You do initial damage that does multi-turn damage, debuffs enemies with engulfed, stack with critical chance/hit chance armor and buffs. Pretty fun
Whilst Nidhogg is great I'd personally recommend Minigun with an HE Fuse linkage. With this build it would deal more damage, has cheaper, more common ammo type and 10% better hit chance which comes in handy since it shoots 18 bloody bullets with one attack which also gives plenty of chances for crits. Just to compare numbers Nidhogg has raw damage of 295 per attack and minigun has raw damage of 341 ''after -10% damage penalty from slapping on HE Fuse Linkage to it.''. Now Nidhogg has some stuff going for it such as higher critical damage multiplier, assuming 100% crit chance Nidhogg would deal 649 raw crit damage whereas Minigun would deal 443 raw crit damage. So if you've got critical hit chance somewhere around 80% Nidhogg would be by far the better weapon for you, however if you don't have crazy high crit chance Minigun would be better and would also crit a lot more often since one attack has 13 more hits in comparison, meaning a lot more chances to crit. You can also just ignore heavy guns completely and go for literally any other weapon type, slap HE Fuse Linkage onto that and you're done. Same exact build, just different weapon type, one of the better ones being Automatic weapons, since there are two late game weapons which also come with explosive damage. SMG called PDW-01 and an automatic rifle called Lancer, both are pretty damn good,PDW-01 wins over the Lancer because it's pretty damn godlike. It's kinda crazy but it deals on average ~270 raw damage and has AP cost of 4,so you can easily shoot it at least twice per round for 540 raw damage...which now that I look at the numbers is enough to just completely overshadow both the Nidhogg and the minigun in damage per round while also being more flexible due to lower AP cost.
Whilst you *are* correct, I prefer the Nidhogg regardless. I say this two years after, so I'm probably talking post-dlc and patches where you did not; but now there are underbarrel mods that increase damage and DoT. Things like the Crippling linkage and so forth, that you'd miss out on with the HE linkage. These are *great* on Area of Effect characters. Nidhoggs' inherent 'destroy armor' plus bleed, plus slow on a suppressing fire is a great opener. As for Ammo, that isn't much of a trade off [anymore] as one can craft ammo now, but also because the Nidhogg does it with only five shots per burst. By far the *hardest hitting* heavy gun build though, is as follows: Disciple of the Metal / Pyromaniac + Toaster Repair + Weird Science + Big Guns. Important: Add seven ranks to Small Arms if you can, to get the Draw Perk. Three ranks in Explosives for resistances perk. For weapons, you can do the same Fire-Linkage trick on anything you want, for certain. However, your endgame target is: I use the K-Cannon on this character for single targets - cheap ammo. It hits for 450 base, using cheap ammo. You build your strike meter quick, and you make good use of the small arms skill. There's a non-unique, fire-inducing DoT [Hot Tar] doing Heavy Machine gun in Steeltown. It uses Flamethrower ammo, uses six shots per burst and combined all above *plus* the Elite Fire Armor - You'll do 150 damage TIMES six. So even if half your shots hit, you didn't crit once - you sent 450 damage into something regardless. If you do a Cone Attack with this, you absolutely slaughter *everything*. Lastly, you are now completely immune to fire. Your Quirk sets you on fire everytime you use a fire based weapon, but that no longer hurts you.
Somewhere around early mid game there's a weapon mod that converts damage to explosive. I can't remember if it works for heavy machine guns, but if it does it'd be a good early pick. I've only ever seen one of this mod though
Good synergy with leadership actually, unless you find a quick mag (-1 AP) for your minigun or Nidhog... But even then you probably have enough AP to use Rally, provided you've maxed coordination. Good build in any case.
Hope to see some companion builds soon. Really love the look of Ironclad Cordite, but my first 2 characters were a tank melee, and sneaky sniper, my 3rd and 4th are heavy weapons man, and doc. So his combination of brawling, explosives and mechanics, doubles up on both the tank and the gunner. Same with Scotchmo, be has small arms, lockpicking, sneaky shit and melee, so he doubles up on my sniper, melee tank, and doc.
IF i use your Shotgun Leader is it then best to use the skill point from this leader to send on somthing else? I am looking to make a good group. but you builds are all on combat skills but none with lockpicking or toaster or others that u need in game. It look like its all combat. do you have any advice on makeing char with these skills too.
Ambush is a final action you can take with a character setting up an attack on the enemy's turn. It consumes all ap needed for the attack, and every ap afterwards gives an extra 5% chance to hit.
"Ambush: Set up an attack that will trigger on the enemy's next turn. Uses all remaining AP, gaining +5% Hit Chance PER EXTRA AP spent". So it doesn't give a +35% aim por turn like the op said.
Each AP left after the cost of ambush itself gives that attack a 10% hit chance per AP. You have 6 AP left, ambush costs 3 AP and the other 3 AP give a total of 30% increase hit chance to that ambush attack
@@SausosiosIsrugos you need to save the Hoon family instead of the caravan, then inside of the Hoom HOmestead go pass the tow-headed goat there's a path that leads to a bunker, it's in a container at the end of that bunker. it's call HE fuse I think
How effective is this build without Nidhogg though? Should you even try it until you obtain that HMG? How far into the game is the weapon? (Yep, I'm new. 🤣) If it's a late game item, it sounds like you should only 'recruit & build' this guy once you get it.
I found HMG works better as Critical Miniguner. Big gun10+ some Combat shooting + minigun (20dmg barrel/long range scope/ hit% under barrel/-1ap mag). It does 800-1000dmg per "shot" without crit (combat shooting 10=80%+ crit rate), when every bullet crit, we are looking at 1600~2000 dmg per "shot"! It does not require a NIDHOGG to work and not need to invest explosive skills, plus it does the job for the sniper (21m range), my sniper is now designated grenadier. The only downside is you have to get the combat shoot skill book...
Suggesting a build based on a specific weapon is as pleb as it gets, even more so when the build is so bad. If you want a REAL Big guns build, pump fire damage, take weird science and toaster repair 7, combine with pyromaniac and disciple of the metal. Pump mechanics to max along with the perk to deal extra 20% to mechanicals. Take your best HMG and convert it's dmg to fire (you know, a GOOD HMG not the complete shit N/hog). There, now you have a Flamer that decimates the whole screen and an HMG that one-shots everything. You are welcome.
You SORTA can by grabbing new rangers and building them to your preferred stats. I had like 3 variants of my initial pair by the end of the game as I rebuilt around my chosen companions. Which is also why I think Kwon and Pizepi are the best, they're easy to build around.
