Thanks a lot for this video! I found it very insightful and informative. I am planning a 5K personal time trial at my local track this weekend and was happy to stumble upon this video to find out more about the new activity profile. Great to hear it is relatively accurate and much improved over formerly relying on the Run activity profile.
Thanks Alvin and good luck on the time trial! Don't forget to calibrate the watch first but you should end up with some nice clear circuits of the track rather than wibbly-wobbly ones! 👍🏃♂️
Not only laps, but when I makes short series , can the watch give a metrics ? I know that first is necessary calibrate the line on track 1 or 2 laps. After that, I only run shorts series in that part is my doubt if the watch test that short distances
It sounds like you have autolap on. Go into the track run settings and switch it off. It'll only start timing again when you press lap which is useful if doing different rep distances in one session.
Hello, thank you for your vudeo. I wanted to submit a personal experience with tazck run on my Fenix 7x Pro solar. I wanted to make a structured interval session but unfortunately after the warm up track run crash and Garmin restart. It is very annoying and it happens all the time. If kindly someone could advice me on this issue I would really appreciate it. ☺️
Totally new to all the sport/smart/gps watches. May I ask how inaccurate normal GPS watches are for track running, or in general any other not-very-straight running tracks? From my current research, I should prefer a GPS watch over a fitness tracker that has no built-in GPS. I wonder how accurate the GPS ones are
They don't do a bad job but will never be 'to the metre' accurate, which is why it needs secondary input like which lane is being used and some calibration. GPS accuracy (which type or watch is best) is a topic of lengthy debate but my advice would be to get a watch with GPS built in rather than 'connected GPS' which uses your mobile phone. Hope that helps! 🏃♂️
Hi thank’s about your video, in your experience I’m a sprinter 100 m 200 m and 400 m , this kind watch can help me to measure metrics? And if a run series about 30, 50, 80 m Can it measured ? I hope can help me? Or do you know any sprinter that use a garmin watch for their training? I’’m interested in garrmin forerunner 245 with the running dynamics pod Thanks
Hey, thanks for the feedback. During the calibration, I just ran. During the session, I pressed lap at the start and end, mostly because I wanted the lap time to be exact, even if the distance was a little off. I didn't want the watch clocking a lap if I wasn't right on the line to start or finish a rep. In the event it was pretty accurate but that's my preferred way of doing it.
You're welcome and thanks for watching! I pressed the lap button at the end of each lap. There is a lap feature but if doing different length reps, it won't cater for that.

Thank you for the video. Been looking for a new watch with this feature but was very hard to get concrete evidence that the 6 pro range had it.
Thanks Tom, glad you found it useful. I love my 6Pro, still finding out more about it all the time. 👍🏃♂️

Is there a possibility to turn off the timer that starts when you select a new lap? Its pretty annoying

Can you track running on a track field indoors accurately?

I think you are meant to hit lap for the calibration, so it knows where the lap starts/ends
Hey you can change the auto lap distance down to 400m
Yes, have been finding out more as I've used it. Can't wait to get back on a track. 😀👍🏃♂️
Thanks for the video Dan.
You're welcome! 🏃♂️
Does the Venu have track run?
Sorry for the bad news but I don't think it does. I believe only on the 245/745/945/Fenix6 watches at the moment.
@@TheRunningMaster Thanks.
has my fr245 this feature?
Yes it should do. You'll need to add the activity type 'track run'. Hope that helps.
@@TheRunningMaster Aight, thank u🙃
Has track run on instict solar 1?theres no gps on track run!
I don't think the track run activity is available on the instinct solar.
next time show more on the watch
did you press lap ...
or just run?

Why?
Not a fan?
@@TheRunningMaster and - it’s only exactly 400m if you run 10cm from the kerb 😀
Thanks for the video! Did you set the watch to generate auto laps or did you manually press the lap button for each lap?

Great video! +1 sub!
