I think you want an elongated trapezoid. Symmetrical on both sides, but flat top versus a point. I will try every 8 rows (like the Sophie scarf), but knit straight with no increases or decreases for a few inches in middle. Love a free pattern!
Catching up on some of your random videos and found this one. What you enjoyed about this scarf is what I'm very much enjoying about the Michigan Avenue that I'm making with my Bridgerton minis from Through the Wardrobe. I love how the garter stitch is feeling in this wrap
I'm making this pattern right now! I chose a beautiful super soft merino wool in the colour navy blue and it will be a gift knit for my auntie... but since I'm loving it so much I might make another one for myself when this is done😂
I have this pattern in my library because after paying $11 for the Sophie scarf (😮) I didn’t want to pay the same price for the Sophie shawl pattern! I looked for a free simple shawl pattern and found Simple thing shawl. Yours looks great. I haven’t knit mine yet but plan on using up some of my stash. I don’t know of the name of the shape you described. My guess would be extended teardrop! Have a great trip.
I am having trouble knowing how often to increase to make a super thin scarf. I tried every inches + 1/2 but its becoming too wide for my liking. Any suggestions?
Google seems to think it’s called a “leaf shape” so maybe “elongated leaf shape” since you seemed to show more rounded corners than a rhombus or diamond…
Another great video! I love all the details you gave about the pattern and your process for it. Super helpful and I'm off to go get this pattern!
Glad it was helpful!

That’s awesome!
❤ I love the colourway so much too. A great shawl. Just beautiful. All the best, Joyce
Thank you so much!

That is always the trouble with gift knitting! Sometimes you just need to keep it!
This pattern is in my library and queue! Planning a two-color version 😊
Ooh! That will be so cool!
That yarn is so pretty! 💜
G’day Rachel, you so crack me up love your podcast 🇦🇺

Yes don’t pay twice for the same idea!
When you say one skin how many yardage do you suggest? Would it be a 10 ounce or larger or should I look for the yardage?
One skein of fingering held double (holding two strands of it together), or one strand of DK or worsted weight held single would work!

Hmmm. Maybe just go by a certain amount of rows?
You could make matching fingerless mitts!!
Would you say the pattern is beginner friendly? (I'm a crocheter learning to knit :) ) The I-cord looks intimidating!
I think so! The icord is essentially slipping stitches and then knitting them after you turn your work. ❤️
@@rachelisknitting That makes sense, thank you!

I think you're describing a diamond? 😅
Duh omg 😂😂😂
If your gauge isn’t right..who frickin cares 😂 ....I’ve made two of these. By another name. 🧶💫
😂😂😂 I LOVE projects when the gauge is irrelevant!
