Do not add 2tbs of lawrys. It will be too salty. I'm making my cornbread now and the batter is salty. I dnt knw what to do... Maybe when I add everything else it will even out

9/20/22: I made this today and it came out absolutely wonderful, flavor galore! The only thing I did different was to add 1/2 cup of sugar instead of 1 full cup, which gave it a nice flavor, but next time I would opt to add 1/4 cup and that's it. I also think I would only add 2 cans of cream chicken soup as opposed to 3. It was extremely moist, as you said it would be, but IMO, it didn't need a third can. It was a bit too moist for my liking considering everything else that was in it (e.g., the celery soup, the butter, buttermilk, etc.). I also used a full green bell pepper, not half. Overall, it is a good dressing, and I definitely will be making it again with the modifications. Thank you for taking the time to post this recipe. I learned a lot from it.

If everyone watching knows better, why are they watching? Or better yet, start your own health focused cooking channel. Goodness, if you don't like the recipe change it, but I don't know that anyone needs to change their recipes to suit your tastes. Do that for yourself in your own kitchen. We never used sugar in cornbread either but i can watch this video and know I can make it without the sugar since that's my preference. I don't actually want to see him change anything because I enjoy seeing the variations on a lot of regular soul food/southern dishes.

i made this...definitely in my Thanksgiving rotation. Wasn't quite sure how it would come out with the cream of chicken and cream of celery. It was ON POINT!

i will say i have never seen anyone make dressing this way. it definitely looks flavorful. i make mines with no meat only mushrooms and eggs for binder. my mom grew up with the gizzards and she doesn't even miss it. keep up the good work.

I used this recipe last year when I cooked my first Thanks Giving dinner, I just have to cut back on the sugar, other than that it was good and I will do it again for this year. The turkey recipe from last year I also use that one again. Thanks PBJ for making my first TG meal a success.

l don't know what I like better, your recipes or your commentary! Come on Jay, we're both in Philly. Lol! 😂 Peace & Blessings to you & yours during this holiday season. Please keep a prayer in your heart for the devastating happenings plaguing our city & stay safe out here. Especially for that 10 year old who is in the hospital due to gun violence. Let's stand in solidarity & continue to pray for all of the city's across this land because it can happen to us. Much respect from a US Army (Retired 1982 - 2005) Iraq War Veteran.

I wish I had done this yesterday. I attempted to make stuffing (11/26/2015) and it was horrible! It was hard, not very seasoned and just a dry mess! I know my family was like...what the hell is this? lol...so I'm going to give this a try and hopefully have better results. Please....please don't delete this ever! I need to make up for the mess I made. Keep up the good work! Peace & Blessings
