Finally found someone on UA-cam that used eggs in their dressing! Definitely will be trying this in a few hours. I’ve never used sage in my dressing so I’m excited to see how this recipe will taste. I’ll come back and update😊. Happy Thanksgiving 2020 everyone! May God comfort all those that are grieving this Thanksgiving due to the loss of loved one’s and any other type of loss🙏🏽.

My husband is a Chef and he uses a egg in his dressing. So did my grandmother. I think next time I make cornbread dressing I will try it. The dressing he and my grandmother made taste delicious 😋👍💯😊🤗 So is mine without the egg. My husband leaves all the cooking to me now. I am retired 😃😃🤣🤣

Mr. Wright, who in the world are you to critique? Why would anybody listen to you with no creds. What are your credentials? Where is your channel, sir? Where is your recipe even listed or documented? I'm waiting! ....... Yeah ......I thought so! In the mean time since, you are going from one of my video to the next commenting this trash ..... Please allow, the positive Ms MESO to take off her halo, step down to speak to your dumb, ignorant behind for just a moment. You want to change your, lonely, insignificant, tormented life (that's why you are drawn to me) but you just don't know how to do it. Stop feeding on jealously, hatred and negativity and think on something positive. Have a seat and shut your fat mouth. Believe God for something good for yourself. With your words and thoughts ..... bless and not curse your fellow man. Then you will see God's life changing blessings start to flow in ...... health, finances, relationships, etc. Don't waste your time following me around with this foolishness, it will only cause harm to you. Shake yourself off and turn your mind around and receive the blessings of God that I truly send your way.

I see what a few of the ladies said about ingredients. This is why there is no standards in cooking. You put what you like in the food. Anyone who agrees can follow your recipe or someone elses. It's all by taste/preference.

Some of these comments are spicier than the dressing and that's a very well seasoned dressing!!
I have my own recipe but I love seeing how others do theirs. Over the years I have gotten some of the good ideas from others peoples take on dressing/stuffing.
Growing up I thought there was one recipe, but now thanks to the internet, I can see how people all over do theirs.
I'd happily take a seat at your table and have a big helping of your dressing and talk recipes with you all day.
Thanks for taking the time and allowing us in your kitchen to see how you do yours. Stay blessed and Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones.

Love your comment. I feel the same. I know how to cook, but I love watching the way others prepare their food. Most times I’m not convinced I’d like their version better, but there have been times I was inspired to alter something something I do. First and foremost, no two people cook the same. While this is a very intriguing recipe, and it is well prepared. But, I'll stick to mine. I would never say mine is the world's best because how food tastes to a person is simply a matter of opinion. And this lady's recipe may very well be just that. I've probably been making dressing longer than some of you have lived. As far as a cooking channel, I don't wish for one because my cooking has never needed to be validated.

Hey Portia, just increase your cooking time or heat. For example, if you cooked at 350 kick it up to 375 for the time maybe give it another 12 to 15 minutes. Just stay nearby and remember you don't want it real tight when you first take it out of the oven because it tightens quite a bit as it cools. Really judge by the edges let the edges get browned and crispy. Thanks for watching and be blessed.

Cornbread dressing is the BEST hands down. I live in San Francisco, but originally from Mississippi/Louisiana. Love this. Mom would make it every year, probably still does. (Haven't seen her in a good while.) No other dressing or stuffing comes even close to as delicious. Especially any box or store bought variety. You have to make it home made, from scratch.

Since thanksgiving is here soon, time to look at recipes online to get ready. Excellent recipe, like my mom used to make. Another option what my mom did and i plan on doing this year, is pour the raw dressing in an electric roaster and place the turkey on top and bake together. That way the juices from the turkey bake into the dressing and it is unbelievable. Our family has always made a very loose dressing because thats what we love, and sometimes my mom would actually baste the turkey with the dressing as it cooks. When she died, my sister always took over the turkey making and she never made hers like that. This year i'm making my own Thanksgiving and i decided i'm going to make my mom's dressing basted turkey like old times. BTW , love your channel.

I am making this recipe AGAIN today as I type this, had a lot of left over chicken, so I just added it to the dressing for a simple but yet so filling meal. This Lady cooks from her soul, the way I do. There is nothing better than to hear folks truly enjoy a meal, it gives the cook real pleasure to know their food is good. I made her exact recipe and took it to the ICU (Critical Care Unit) where I work, the Doctors, Nurses etc loved it, nothing left but an empty pan. I have to give this lady 5 stars on this recipe, she knocked it out of the park on this one. Bon-Appetite , its a real killer of a meal. I’m just an old country white boy that went to college, raised on southern foods and will eat just about anything. Omit what you want, add a little if you will, but don’t judge her abilities to cook, this girl knows how to make a meal.

Hey Catina, ikr, when I have to re-watch these videos while I am editing them I get so hungry and my mouth waters too. Unfortunately I always ..... ALWAYS edit in the wee hours of the morning. Play the video right there in the kitchen while you're cooking, it will give you support and confidence. Important Keys: Just remember to let your cornbread get really hard and dry in the oven and make sure your broth is really fatty/oily (this gives good flavor and moisture) even boil 2 chicken thighs with the giblets to give extra broth and fat if your broth is not fatty/yellow enough. You got this Catina! Thanks for watching and let me know how it turns out. Blessings.

Every one loves dressing, and all the wonderful taste of the holidays. When i was in London, there is a restaurant there, and the only thing they sell---the only item on the menu, is a hoagie type of sandwich that is a slab of dressing heated on the grill to get the outside crunchy, and turkey, they spread the bread with cranberry sauce and add a little gravy to the dressing, and there you have it....thanksgiving on a bun. It's one of the busiest shops ever, other than the fish and chips shop just down the way.

Larry Williams i agree 1000 % i hate dressing with chunks of veggies 😣 i boil mine with the turkey meat that gives the broth the flavor and also gets the celery so soft it makes it easier to shred or dice finely.

    • @MesoMakingIt
      @MesoMakingIt  5 років тому

Mz Kaye, I want the texture in my dressing. I can't imagine boiling it with the meat. That is a long time. Why would you even put it in the dressing if all the flavor had been boiled out in the broth. I hate dressing that is just one big mush like slop. But my vegetables are in no way raw they cook in a hot oven inside the dressing for at least 45 minutes. Why would they still be raw? Well the most powerful statement in the world when it comes to food ……. to each his own. Thanks for watching and be blessed.

I boil my celery and onions with my gizzard, neck, etc., And I use that broth in my dressing. I may not use all the broth, so I use a slotted spoon to get out all of the onions and celery, and add them to my dressing. I don't put bell peppers or anything like that in mine, and I put boiled chopped eggs instead of raw eggs in mine. That's actually totally optional because I have found it's not necessary.

I do both the raw eggs as a binder. And the chopped boiled eggs I grew up having in my dressing. The bell peppers and celery cooks just enough so you taste the texture.

I use chicken gizzards in my Dressing, also poultry seasoning and sage. No peppers sorry.

This was sooo delicious the very first time I made it with your instructions! I'm doing it again this year! Thank you so much! My grandma passed away before I could get her recipe down. But it's okay I know she'd enjoy this one too!! ❤️

Very similar to the way my mom made dressing. Enjoyed watching you and reminiscing. ❤️

I would saute my vegetables before adding them to the bread mixture, just saying!
