2 week of accutane and it seems as though I have a new symptom everyday! Dry lips are my constant, then my face is peeling, now my ears. All in All I'm okay!!!😁
how did it go!
Thanks for the info. I'll begin Accutane since I've struggling with acne lately
best of luck!
I relate with you so much!! I’ve had acne ever since I was nine and now I’m 15. I’ve tried so many things and none seem to keep my skin clear in long term so I’m thinking about accurate.
Update: I still have a little acne but my skin is literally sooo clear now literally all I did was drink more water LMAO (80 oz)
it's worth a thought. good luck!
Do it while you’re still young! It gets harder when older
for sure. im 30 now wish i did it when i was younger. time your start date with your summer vacation. so the worse part potentially you can hide indoors.
looking forward to month 4 updates!!!
Ahh!! I got it and need to record this week. I wish I did more monthly updates since I’m almost done lol
yessss! i loveee this! thank you for this video. i was curious to see if anyone has worked w/ this company and couldn’t find any videos! especially w/ someone w/ no insurance! ✨
please please keep us updated 🫶🏼
Of course! I didn't find any videos about this either, so maybe i'll make a video. Thanks for your comment!
@@kellymeng i had a couple questions☺️ how does bloodwork work for u w/ no insurance?
@@yasiixxxr I totally missed this comment! They sent a request to a nearby Labcorp for "recurring bloodwork" although I only have done it once. the cost came out to around $110. I live in NYC for reference, so it might be cheaper elsewhere.
Hey YR!! I JUSTTTTTTT finished this video after 2 months lmao, check it out when you can!
I’m on day 3 of accutane! I sure wish my derm had told me at the initial appt about how accutane raises cholesterol levels because I could have worked on that for the entire first month of waiting before I could start…. (Because I already have high cholesterol). Now we got my blood work done and she says I basically need to be vegan for the entire period and if my levels go up too much I will have to stop taking the medication. I’ve been working my ass off to eat a very high fiber diet and a very low saturated/trans fat and low cholesterol diet and walk more often. Just wish she would have told me earlier. She always seems to be in a rush and not care too much about me. Also, I have heard SO many people talking about taking accutane with a fat and so I asked my doctor about that and she said, “no. If you’re anorexic or not eating much, it might not absorb entirely, but that’s not true.” I’m like um okay
I'm sorry that your journey has been rough so far :( I am optimistic for you and am wishing you the best! I know going vegan is a difficult change too, so don't be too hard on yourself and keep tabs on your overall health
Omg I’m on the same page as u I have high cholesterol and I hope they still give me itttt mines like genetic I’m trying to eat more fiber rich foods too!! I just want clear skin already I still need to do my first bloodwork then go in next month and see 😭
Thank u for Ur video ❤️ I'm considering to start soon :)
Best of luck! It did wonders for me and I am hopeful that it’ll do the same for you :)
Wow 60mg per day sounds so major. I’m on my second cycle and my dermatologist only gavs me 20mg per day. Good luck on your journey!
Thank you! You too!
the background music is lovely
Your skin is so healthy wish I had the same.
Thanks for your kind words, but my skin looks healthier now because of accutane! I had regular acne for 10+ years of my life. I wish you the best in your skin journey
Thanks Kelly hoping for more updates in the future.
hi, I'm on 7 months of acutane and definitely the dry lips is the biggest problem I'm having and also dry skin near the lips, but I know it will pay back :)
Yes, same for me! I had Aquaphor on me at ALL TIMES otherwise I would need to buy more on the spot
7 months is brutally long
Hello dear what moisturizer do you recommend to use with accutane.
You are so beautiful 😍 thank you for the informations
im about to start, for 10 years i tried different things and nothing worked. on my face i dont have much nowadays cuz it was mainly hormonal but my back is really bad and its the main reason im taking it
Thank you for the info.. OMG i’m taking isotretinoin for a week now, but i didn’t know that I can’t drink alcohol while taking it. I did drink alcohol yesterday huhu 😭
Best of luck!! Limited alcohol is fine but no alcohol is best.
Please, do more videos about it. Thanks
In the works :)
Great results! Were u always taking accutsine with healthy fats ( like eggs/nuts etc) or u took it just generally with some food?
ALWAYS taking with healthy fats. I wanted to make sure the medication had the best absorption into my system!
@@kellymeng thanks, I hope 5 nuts with a meal is enough
Im 15 this year I've been struggling with acne since 10 my dermatologist suggested me to have accutane. Im starting my accutine journey wish me luck!! You inspired me so much girl!
Good luck!!
How’s it going? I’m around the same age and I’m interested in Accutane since I have mild acne.
@@Natalia-lp9ik doctor gave me the least effective dose since im really young so i think its gonna take more time to see some reaction!! Im on my second month. You should consult your dermatologist if you wanna try. Good luck girl..
@@Natalia-lp9ik well doctor gave me the least effective dose cz im really young i think it's gonna take more time to see some results but i think my skin is clearing up and even people around me are saying my skin is glowing so its worth giving a try. You should consult your dermatologist. Good luck girl ❤❤
@@sourcandy3039 I have a few questions!! How long did you have to wait before starting Accutane? Do you have to do regular blood tests? Is it expensive? Have you tried any other topical creams or anything before starting Accutane? These are just a few questions I have if you’re willing to answer!! Thank you so much🙌
I'm on month 8 rn and I'll write my experience here:
I took it in months 10mg-20mg-30mg-40mg-40mg-50mg-60mg-60mg
1. PURGE: Usually people say their face clears by month three. I got a pretty bad purge fase and skin cleared only by month 6🥲.
2. DRYNESS: My side effects were also pretty mild, during first months I had lip and body dryness, after that only dry lips, but often pretty bad. Also you don't have to wash your hair as often cause it just won't get oily!
3. OTHER SIDE EFFECTS: I've never heard anyone mention this but I experienced (still do) face flushing and sweating (in the face) a lot! Any kind of temperature change or crouching down would make my temperature suddenly go up and my face beet red, it made me very insecure so I wore makeup all the time.
4. SUN: usually it's an awful idea to go in the sun while on accutane so I always wore SPF! It's different for everybody tho. I had a surf trip on month 3, was still in my purge fase but nothing got particularly worse. So usually people stop taking the medication in the summer, but my doc said that it's quite okay if it didn't trigger anything on that surf trip.
5. ALCOHOL: I did drink at times, sometimes more, sometimes less, but rarely (for a uni student). At first I tried avoiding fermented drinks and drank mostly gin and vodka, now I've had beers and wine too. On days that I did drink I always missed the evening dosage because on my first time drinking (new years eve) I took a pill before drinking (shampagne🤦♀️) and it immediately reacted in my stomach and I threw up badly. So yeah I do recommend sticking to gin and vodka cocktails rather than fermented drinks.
Don’t drink at all while on accutane. You will be damaging your liver without knowing it.
BRO MY HAIR IS GOING FROM ISOTRETINOIN PILL WILL IT COME BACK OR NOT PLEASE TELL ME??? 😭😭😭
Completely agree to nauseous part, I'm on 20mg day 8
You got this!
I just started 20 mg, how is your skin now?
@@katdy5849 hey so far good allhamdulillah
how did it go for you?
@@Katie-zo3ep my skin is much better. i’m on 60 mg now for my 3rd month.
I had itchy scalp, dry flaking skin on my fingers and face, cracking lips and sensitivity to strenuous exercise ad side effects
Im on my 3rd pill!!!!! I’m so excited to have clear skin😭
It's my 12th pill and i am also excited hope so it will work
Can you tell on how many mg are on you
Im starting w 10 mg a day
@@matea1607 me too
@@matea1607 let's face the feeling of clear skin together ❤
What was your dosage and how many Months you took? I have already used accutane in past for 2 times for period of 3 months each but my acne came back now I'm on third round, can you please tell how you got rid of scaring?? I have scarring and pigmentation and using 20% azelaic acid once daily along accutane
I did 5 total months: month 1 30 mg, then 2-5 were 60 mg. I’ve since finished and don’t have persistent acne anymore. As for scarring, I use the Banish system!
Day 2 hope it goes well 🤞 Any more suggestions?
how did it go!? you must be done now, huh
My accurate purge has been miserable. Not only has my skin gotten bad but it’s WAY worse than it ever was before i started accutane. I’m on month 2 and it’ been going on for about a month. I genuinely dont know what to do, and im considering just quitting accusante in general. Ugh
Don’t do it you will face purging for 5 months afterwards it slowley started to give you the result that you dreamed of I know it’s hard to be in a purging state but trust the process it take up to one year for some to get the result 😊
Please don't stop this is your journey ...you are almost there..the result will be worth it..Patience forget about people' remember your journey
I hope you didn’t give up!
have you ever missed a dosage? & if so has it affected your outcome at all? i missed a couple days & scared it’s going to affect my outcome 😭
Hey Riley! Yes I have missed it for many days before (2 weeks lol) due to a pharmacy error. I did get 1 pimple back during the time, but I was only in my 2 or 3rd month in. Now I sometimes do skip a day or so on accident but haven't experienced any negative effects.
Your skin care routine
Please I want to know if can I get accutane in china ??
I‘ve been struggling for over 3 years now with acne, nothing helps, I think I will consider going on accutane. I guess it’s worth a try, I‘ve been scared of the side effects and purging but I think I would try everything for clear skin🥺
Go as fast as you can cuz I waited 6 years to it all become better - results?? Only more scars, insecurities, missed opportunities.
@@Jaa_morant I already made an appointment, but only in november, they sadly didn't have an appointment earlier, I'm thinking about going to another one but it's really hard to even find somebody
@@katharsis909 is it some free facility? U may consider some private clinic where they would prescribe you accutaine. Even 1.5 months can make a difference with this medication, so I wouldn’t waste time if had a choice. Hope u figure it out!
@@Jaa_morant yes, it's a free facility, I am considering going to a private clinic, but I'm not sure of the costs, I have to think about it, but there I would probably get an appointment much sooner in September... I just think that if I get on accutane and have to go there monthly to check if everything is ok, I have to pay the costs myself and I'm still a student so I don't have that much money currently
@@katharsis909 yeah bro I’m also a student, and I was also thinking that I would have to go there every month, but in fact, u can just go there once, after the first 1 or 2 months and then just monitor your blood results. ( if they are ok, u don’t really have to go to clinic cuz they won’t tell you anything new). So u can just check your blood and follow the plan of taking accutaine. Then the next time u can go there at around 6 months mark.
Myself I was also prolonging my treatment cuz was thinking about financial aspect too much, but it costed me 6 months ( In which I could have cleaned up really nicely - no amount of money worths that)
. I would say just go there and see what happens.
Also, I heard that sometimes they don’t put u on accutaine in free facilities cuz they are afraid of “side effects” which are usually nothing serious. Whereas in private clinic u sign some paper that frees them of responsibility in a way so they are more likely to prescribe u accutaine + they are more likely to listen to you if you say that u want that medication and not another cream or vitamins
In where I live an appointment in a clinic costs around 10-20€ - it’s like 2 days of eating so maybe try finding that 💰

Heyy my hair became so thick after accutane course... it's frustating I had silky hair but now I don't know why ? Is it side effect
Yes!! Accutane side effects is different on every person, but this sounds like a side effect that is common with accutane. Hope everything else is well!
Hello. Is it best to take it once or twice a day,? I was prescribed 20 mg a day, so I thought 10’mg at daytime and 10mg at night? Tell me your experience please
hi, i am not sure of this answer since i was prescribed a higher dosage and was told by my doctor to take it either once or twice a day. i'd refer back to your doctor!
Im on accutane for a week now and whole body is very itchy. I cant help scratching myself
this happened to me too. something with the drying of skin made me itchy too. try to moisturize all over, it might help!
How is your hair doing? Do you experience lot of hair fall or doing okay?
My hair is not as oily. I used to have oily hair where I washed at least every/every other day. Now I can go without washing my hair for 1 week LOL. In the beginning I had pretty severe dandruff, but now it's not as bad. I get dry scalp/dandruff on day 1-2 hair, then 3-wash day my hair looks nice and shiny.
@@kellymeng that’s helpful! Thanks Kelly
@@SpandanaAlapati no problem! Good luck if you are about to start/on it rn!
@@kellymeng About to start this week🤞🤞
did you finish accutane? please make an update vid!
I did finish! I need to make one lol. thanks for your comment!
Did u take 30mg twice a day or once
does lotion on lips then lip balm like vaseline avoid or lessen the affect?
im on tretenoion so im used to dry lips and dry skin but I don't know if it's tretonin level dry or will it be even worse?
I’ve done both and I’d say it’s comparable amounts of dryness. Lotion would suffice in a pinch but a thick balm would be the best bet for sealing in moisture.
Isn’t starting 30 mg a lot! I am on my 3rd day the dr only prescribed 10 mg for me , but it worked for her I am thinking I should tell him to increase it
Follow your doc’s orders! Everyone does something slightly different, I’d always defer to doc’s recommendation
If anyone who had oily skin, how quickly does it get less oily (also im on day 3 with 20mg)
Hey how is your progress?
it has been really good, i am on week 5 i think and my oily skin has gone away completely but I am still getting some breakouts but I am positive it will get better in the next month@@Zna_01
I’m exactly one 1 week in today. My skin less oily and my lips dry asf. Like, really dry.
@@Zna_01 sorry I didn’t reply, my skin is clear now and I have less oilness, it works like a charm!
Hi i had 45 tablets with 20 mg.its before 6th April finished.after 1 months i wait..now i want to pagnant. Can i wait more or easily go to pagnant pls tell me.
I'd consult your doctor!
It’s been 1 week. I’m having very sore throat
I'd chat with your doctor about this!
Hii did u take 30mg twice or once a day ?
where did you go for labwork?
I went to LabCorp for my bloodwork!
did you have to go on birth control? sorry if that’s too personal of a question
no worries at all -- i did not but you are supposed to be on 2 forms of birth control.
Dosage????
I was on 30 mg month 1, then 60 mg month 2-4!
damn, if u want accutane in europe it goes like this: "go to dermatologist - sup bro, gimme some isotretinoin, no worries bro here you go"
Can i take 10 pill a day my skin Is very very very very oily
I’d consult with your doctor!
Wanna die 😅
absolutely not accutane is a long process, its a marathon not a sprint u have to trust the process it will take a while but it’s worth it. ur doctor can perscribe u accutane that has more isotretinoin in it
once you stop taking oral isotretinoin or even lower the dosage oiliness will return/ so it's not a solution to get rid of oiliness
My doctor consulted me to have oral isotretinoin 20 MG.....so can I use The Ordinary 7% toning solution and aha/bha peeling solution once a week if I take the peels?....please tell🥺
Hi Sana! I am not a doctor, but I am going to tell you what my doctor told me. She said that you should avoid any additional treatments when you're on Accutane since it is VERY strong already. Meaning if you use the toning solution or the peeling solution, it will do more harm than benefit. In fact, it would most likely cause a chemical burn! So please consult with your doctor.
The only products I used during my treatment are moisturizers and an ointment such as Aquaphor or Vaseline. Everything else would be damaging to your already-thin skin.
Good luck and when in doubt, always contact your doctor!
@@kellymeng Thank you so much ❤
Treatment of Accutane is temporary but the side effects tend to stay forever
That scares me I am just trying it 😅
this is a myth lol, also this is incredibly rare but that they have to warn you for possible symptoms
alcohol is super important 🤣
