The real hotel is majestic, even tucked away amongst all that steel and glass - your 'miniature' rendition is magnificent in all its dystopian grandeur!
Hell Yeah! This is what laser cutter is best at in this hobby, IMO. Cutting multiple smaller layers that make up a larger picture to provide depth. Chefs kiss!!! I cant wait to see what else you add!
That backdrop looks amazing and despite the "flatness", the coloring makes it look very 3 dimensional. This is where the laser cutter really shines, just imagine trying to cut out all that stuff by hand. It's possible to pull off, but it would be one hell of a chore. The overall effect even now is very good, can't wait to see some actual miniature houses placed on the table next to it. I can already tell it'll make the 3D houses and the 2D background painting blend together really well.
Wow 😳 such an impressive building for real, but even better in small scale. I'm so excited to see the whole project done as it's going to be spectacular with all these creations 👍
Excellent job as always, great work at creating the depth of the edifice. I can't wait to see more of your work and it will inspire me in the N scale dioramas I am attempting. Bloody good show.😃
Dang son! That’s incredible. Quite the process. Looks great. As a teacher I’d love to see some of your high school projects. I can just imagine…. Teacher: Ok class, get into groups so you… Everyone: I want him in my group!!
Had to watch this again. This should be something you could send to ITLA as a kit they could do. I need one of these in HO…. Maybe a bit smaller though lol.
The Royal York looks amazing. I can't get over the depth of the building even though it is only millimeters thick. Awesome craftsmanship. Take care. Sean.
Amazing job! your paint technic represents so well the deep levels of the building. Looks really cool! Love your photographer uniform! 😂 I suppose It's so that the fans don't recognize you. 😂 Thanks to share!
Brilliant job this build reminds me of the work of Chandwell Michael Buildings. Which he makes out of paper & card. Which is N Scale British Rail 1990’s, very urban and run down.
Just found your channel. I rode your "line" for a decade in the 90's and I gotta ask...do you have a name for your line? If I may, I would suggest "Magnetic East, QEW Parallel" 😅 I yelp with equal parts laughter, approval and nostalgia seeing your attempt at world building. You keep this up, you'll be sporting a toga and sandals soon enough.
Dear N-scale Dystopia, such a great video of your journey into designing, compressing and building the Fairmont for your layout. Humbly think this is an excellent and beautiful example how even a narrow 5mm flat, or low relief, can add depth and the illusion of perspective to a layout. The height reduction in ratio to the reduced height of Union Station is definitely working, even with just the mockups in place. Love the level of shades and highlights you were able to create. Such an ominous building, and definitely a thing to look forward to seeing further develop in one of your projects to come. Cheerio
Not so much zombies as this is a dystopia rather than an apocalyptic wasteland... But there will be hundreds of people dressed exactly the same... Much like inception...

The process to make that building was unreal. Looks perfect!
Very kool. I am so glad the dystopian post apocalyptic vibe is back.
This assembly footage is like a wonderful magic trick - nice job!

Looks amazing and dynamic in the background!!! ❤❤❤

I would never, and will never, have the patience to cut that many windows!
Love the build videos much more than the layout and track videos
Me too! (Track is a necessary evil)
This turned out really well. The sign especially just looks amazing. Great effort!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Really good! Lots of great deal. Thanks.
That looks really good. Great work.
Wow! That came out amazing! Awesome job!
Your model, and its construction, are both awe-inspiring. Just magnificent.
Dude. This is epic and your execution is great. I also have a laser cutter and have been using this technique.
WOW!!! Love it
Nicely Done, Sir!
Excellent workmanship, looks fantastic
Thank you very much!
That’s amazing work.

One day I'll dig out my high school portfolio...
Really nice job! Amazing effect for only 5mm of depth. I particularly like how the sign turned out. Great painting skills!
Thanks. The sign was fun - lots of tricks learned from the tabeltop wargaming community.

*Waits by phone for ITLA call...
It's amazing how effective extremely low-relief can be. My son is working on his 00 gauge zombie-infested cinema - inspired by your grim work!😊
That is awesome!

That depth is nuts!!! Very well done, bro
Thanks bruh. Needs graffiti

Michael - aka Chandwell - is a most excellent modeler. His work is next level.
Yes!
Looks really amazing! well done 👏🏼

Yes and yes!
Nice. Makes me miss the Library Bar.
Me too - was it Library bar or Library pub?
Amazing work! I need to get myself a laser cutter! This Xmas I hope (birthday present will be an FDM printer)
With a laser cutter and an FDM printer you will be unstoppable
@@NScaleDystopia and I already have a resin printer so I’ll be all set! 😊

I was so excited hoping there were going to be zombies on this build 😦 any plans on the future ?
Not so much zombies as this is a dystopia rather than an apocalyptic wasteland... But there will be hundreds of people dressed exactly the same... Much like inception...
Can this be done in 6mm Scale?
I dont see why not!
No one freaked out at you running around in an NBC Suit? 😂🤣😱😭☢️☣️
I ran away - I'm a natural sprinter. Very dangerous over short distances.
@NScaleDystopia Oh ffs... 🤦♂️
Love the build. What laser printer do you use?
Have you checked out Chandwell?
... I've watched every episode
