- Hey guys, I know I ramble a lot in this video my apologies.
I am sorry about breathing into the microphone so much, I will fix it in the next video.
Your off the cuff dialogue needs a lot of work. For this video it's basically referred to as diarrhea mouth.
What the.... Go away lol
so quick to judge other people lets see what you have done?
You must be fun at parties
Bruh, it's not that big of a deal.
Yes, bcuz it's so easy for a novice ZX6R rider to speak and drive while on the road.
Welcome to the club! Going from a lawn tractor to a sports bike is quite different. You’ll get the hang of it!
Good video, I have a 21 ZX6R KRT Edition, love it great bike. So the slipper clutch is to help with starts and yes can help with down shifts. But, you can still get that wheel chirp/hop when downshifting without rev matching. Learn to rev match, it's easy and significantly reduces wear on the clutch plates. The KQS system works best in the higher revs, so really it's best to use it when you're above 12k rpms. Normal riding, don't use it because it feels very "jerky" when using. The hard gear changing is because the quick shift is designed to be used when riding fast. When you are getting on it and you use it, it's smooth as butter. Also, these bikes are designed to rev high, normal riding I change gears around 8 to 10k,and that's only half way to the red line. I still use the clutch most of the time, I only use the quick shifter when racing or at the track. Another word of advice, when changing from 1st to 2nd, be sure to fully raise the shift lever. These trans on the 636 tend want to go into neutral, so make sure you raise it fully when changing. If it does happen, slow the bike down and stop. If you can't stop, get it down to at least 15 mph, then put it into 2nd. Enjoy your bike, they are a blast
Everything you had just mentioned has happened to me in the past. Falling into neutral, the wheel lock up and sliding all with the slipper clutch and ABS. I'm sure the rider aids reduced much of all of that but it takes the system a second to even know that the wheel is slipping before it can intervene so can it still happen? Yes. Also If you do find yourself in neutral because you used the quick shifter improperly it will slam back in if your moving at speed. ( Which obviously can't be good for the gearbox ⚙️) . So just like Paul Heinl suggests in the last comment, slow down for second or stop for 1st.
@@OneZoNinja I think it's got something to do with the spacing between 1st neutral and 2nd that is the issue. I find that if I make sure to fully pull the selector all the way up, it gives no issue, also if I'm quick shifting, as in getting on it, it shifts flawlessly
I can't think of a good reason to come to a stop if you accidentally put the bike in neutral when going from first to second. Just complete the upshift weather you're doing 10 mph or 45. Can you explain?
zx-6r. Good Bike.
Haha dude I love this. Safe responsible rider! Even though some might not ride like you… gotta respect you and you’re very informative man thanks keep it up 👊👊
U don't ( drive ) a motorcycle, you RIDE one
Keep it up bro. You're doing good. I think it would be best to have a chat with a fellow zx6r owner so you could understand about the anti-whiskey throttle you were talking about. Afaik it's the traction control's way of keeping you safe. Also the quickshifter is best used on higher revs. Make a list of what to talk about before starting the vlog to keep the vid short. 👌🏽😁
Thanks for the information and kind words Keith, and I definitely need to make a plan before I start my next vlog lol
@@ImAustinBridges no prob! Keep it up with your vlogs!! 👍🏾

@@ImAustinBridges zx6r or R6 which one is good and advice to buy please
@@hardeyshinanurudeen446 Both the zx6r and r6 are great motorcycles, the zx6r makes a little more power but nothing noticeable, I would say the r6 is more track oriented. I really like my zx6r since it’s pretty easy to live with however, It really comes down to which bike you like more both are similar prices/weight/power/reliability.
I learned first on a kawasaki Ninja 250R Jan 1988. Bought my first bike a 1988 750R Kawasaki Ninja that year Nov of '88. I'm now a returning rider from 1994. I left riding in 1994 until 2022 & picked up my 2023 ZX-6R Aug. 19, 2022 & for 86 miles rode home What I learned that this ride has a lot of what I call wilderness in her. But the way she's built is the way she needs to be rode! I suffered cramps in both my legs 🦵🏽🦵🏽all night long & that next day. Loving my time preparing for my MCSC (motorcycle safety course). I believe I should actually be on a 750R ZX-7R coming soon.
Just picked up another subscriber. I will be doing the same thing as you with my 2022 Kawasaki z400. Great bike but time to move to a 636. The audio and vid seemed fine to me. I have never used anything like this on any helmet so I was wondering if you could do a quick review on what mic, cam, and mount you are using and if you are not completely satisfied with what you have what do you plan on upgrading to?
Send that ecu in to get flashed. Quick shifter will be so much smoother. I am on the 10r and had this done and it is butter smooth now. I used Moore Mafia but any of the big names will square that for you.
The reason why your quick shifter really isn't smoot coz it's meant to be used at higher RPM to what you're doing. There's a reason why most 600cc bikes are called 'screamers'. Once you get into higher RPM it's smooth as butter
You don't get a TFT Display on the ZX6R? Even the 400 has the TFT's now I believe!
I test road last September during Kawasaki demo days a Z650 plenty of go so I order one with ABS still waiting. Big bikes bigger insurance there are speed limits so I would rather ride a slower bike fast, than ride a fast bike slow.
Forget the Purple Panda, get the Giant Squid. Much better.
GSXRRRRRRR STOP PUTTING THE T IN THE NAME< THERE IS NO T
Yeah I just bought the Zx 6r back in June and mine is 20 years Older then yours…But, I still Love her and she is a BEAST just without ALL the Fancy Features and Controls… Great Vlog man!! Stay SAFE
My first bike was a 2020 z900 and then i bought a 2021 zx6r and i love that thing i just traded my z900 for a street triple R but i don't think i ever gonna get rid of my 636 good job with the video and enjoy your bike and RIDE carefully
Good job. Don't worry about the naysayers. Just be yourself. I'm waiting on my dealership to get the exact same bike. Subbed.
Don't use the KQS system of you aren't getting on it. It's for aggressive riding, it's designed to allow you to upshift without letting out of the throttle, just nail it and shift sound 12k plus rpms, it is smooth as butter then
Get a riding jacket brah. Stay safe and have fun.
Why did you keep saying gixster 🤢 gixxer. I have a gsxr 750
gsx-r750
Nice job man . My situation is so similar to yours . I just ordered a 2023 zx6r (krt) addition. I ordered this for my wife . We both are older and have rode together for years . I ride a 2016 s1000xr . I just started my own channel and have 2 videos . Wow I have a lot to learn . Your video is fantastic and I’ll gladly share it . Will you do the same with mine . Thanks and have fun ride safe
Congrats on the purchase, my friend. I was in a similar boat as you, with me owning a 2015 Honda CB500f for the last 5 years, and I ready to upgrade to a super-sport style motorcycle. I'm very happy with my 2023 Zx6r (I've had her for 2 months now). It is definitely, "too much motorcycle" for me to handle, but it's going to be very fun learning to tame her. Honestly, I could have just stuck with my CB500f (because I didn't want to upgrade until I could max out my skill on a smaller CC bike), but my "ego" was ready to have a bike with more power. I already know I will never need to upgrade again to a liter size bike. A 600cc has already too much power for my type of street riding, and the skill it will take to master this Zx6r, I will never achieve. The only upgrades I will do on my Zx6r will be frame/axle sliders (frame sliders are a must), a rear seat cowl (I don't ride with passengers), shorty brake/clutch levers, and maybe a "light smoke" colored windscreen (don't go full dark windscreen because you will regret it when riding at night). You may have noticed that I did not include a slip on/full exhaust for my upgrades. I think the bike sounds just fine with the stocked exhaust, and it's not that bad looking (Ive seen some aftermarket exhaust that look alot worse than this stock exhaust). I don't need to do unnecessary upgrades on the bike when it's not going to improve my riding skills/comfort. I think buying gear is the way to go, instead of buying upgrades. With gear, it's alot easier replacing "leather", than replacing your skin! Please don't be skerd to purchase a $500+ leather jacket that will save your ass one day. Buy leather pants (you are going to need knee sliders with a ZX6r), tall track boots, and QUALITY armored gloves, and it will give you more confidence when hitting the twisties. It scares me seeing people ride, basically naked, when it comes to being on a powerful motorcycle, and the rider considers "gear" as 2nd thoughts (it should our first thoughts protecting our body and being able to come home in one piece). Thanks for sharing and I'll check out more content.
Hi Sir! I would like to ask if Kawasaki zx6r possible for my daily commute. Thanks Sir
Hell ya man! Congratulations for making the jump from cruiser to sportbike! Love that 636! First thing I’d do is put on a akrapovich or maybe a yoshi
yeah if you want everybody looking at you....makes you more easily identifiable..I know in my smallish town, they ALL know its me, from miles away.
@@1000RRR I have a yoshi on my Gsxr 750 and I haven’t gotten any complaints so far lol and I live in a neighborhood with all old people
@@aricasmar1835 they may not complain but they know its you every time youre out and about. just sayin....yes would rather have a cool sounding bike.
Great vid man! I’m currently on a 2011 CBR250 250 as my first bike (@40 y/o mind you). Been riding for around 4 mos now. This ZX is what I’m gonna move up to. The random commentary throughout the vid was AWESOME! I have a tendency to do the same thing in everyday conversations. It actually adds to the video. Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Currently riding around my dads rebel 300 since my gsxr600 engine took a shit…that is a BOLD jump my friend lol. Please take my advice and slowly work your way up the throttle. There is a world of difference of acceleration between 7k and 12k or more….
"GixTer"
Not bad for your first video. Just like when you were learning to ride the motorcycle....your videos will get better. So I'm still unsure which bike to buy as my first. I've never driven a motorcycle before, but I have a little experience with clutches. I'm hesitant to buy anything less than a 600cc, not because of the power so much as the look of the bikes. Just not loving any I've seen. But the 6x in your video is one I'm considering to purchase. Im not intimidated by its power as I'm not looking to go past 80 mph. What are your thoughts/advice?
I thinking about getting same bike.... still unsure.
Lol he just called a zx6r a very powerful motorcycle 😂
It is.. but give him another 5-6000 miles on the ZX6R lol
Yeah I started out on a R1
Turbo 'Busa
Went from a GXSR 600 to S1000RRR. 100hp to 212hp. Just as noticeable jump and learning curve...wait til you start running that bike around 10K RPMs theres your true power....Safety features of newer bikes are a welcomed addition from my point of view....On my BMW, and probably yours too...did you know in certain modes, and depending on traction control, front and rear break are both applied when squeezing front handle...this makes a lot of sense to me, as it should have been done this way always....especially when i was a kid.
Audio sounds good as you know by now...video isnt bad. when youre using an iphone, you prob have better settings. Your Go pro check settings, model (later versions are better 4 and after) , and clean your lens at start always. two cams in case one dies. "if you got one-you got none". You *should* have better video with the gopro. not super familiar, my only one is a 3plus silver.
Not surprising you love it 18:21 its a high performance machine and excels in your neck of the woods.. i like every sport bike more, except for being cramped. 2hr rides forget about it, unless the bike is customized to your fit.
Honestly, pretty close to jumping the gun and going for a ZX-6R. Want something to grow into carefully and not have to upgrade down the road.
Sweet bike. Good video! Ride safe.
It is supersport. The 600 class is called that. That Ninja has one of the most aggressive seating positions in the class. That was the reason I went Suzuki. It was just a little more comfortable. Also, the 750 was my dream bike All my life. It's a beast.
I am on a 2015 GSXR 750. That 636 can hang with me through most of the rev band. Most of it. 😁
I highly recommend to get a Moore mafia ecu flash
Got the same bike last year. Been riding for years. Always on a yamaha r6. Started on my 02 r6s, very risky bike to start on but it made me the rider i am today 10 years later. Ended up with this one and im not dissapointed, really was looking for a 2019 r6. But this bike is great. Also got mine in asheville as well. At MR. My buddy got the same bike, he jumped from a 650 ninja sport touring and he loves the difference
the countryside scenery works for me. Thanks for sharing. Better than cityscape rides [or highway for that matter].
Its not 110hp its upwards of 125-127hp unless they dumbed down 2023 but my 2019 pushes 127ish actually im wrong it’s 134 hp 52.3 ftlbs tq it’s the most powerful 600 they make
I started on a yz450 and made the jump to the zx6r. It was intimidating at first, but as long as you respect the bike, it will take care of you. Enjoy the ride bro.
Big upgrade, enjoy stay safe, ride with brain not ego. In time you will appreciate the performance and in time do it without killing yourself. That bike is more bike than 98% of riders can push to limits. Rode for decades, took racing classes and did some local racing, even with that a top rider can run loops around me and most any street rider. Build slowly to speed. Arrive aluve and live to ride tomorrow😊
You don’t “DRIVE a motorcycle.” You RIDE A MOTORCYCLE!!!
Finally seeing videos of this bad boy, I had my brand new 2023 zx6r a couple months ago and could not find ANY videos of it. Ps I also jumped from a nock off automatic moped that topped at 50 mph to this ninja!! 😳 lmao 💨 😶🌫️
hey man watched til the end, what i have to is thanks for the video, it was perfect, i can kinda relate, my first bike was the Ninja 300, this should be my next bike!! Thanks for the video
Hey man had a quick question. At the end of your video I saw 2 black cords under the bike. Do you know what they are? Also is that a good thing or a bad thing lol
Just bought the same bike my guy, Started out on my 400 and this zx6r was one of the best upgrades! This bike still scares me with the power though! and the Throttle being so sensitive! I'm really glad I kept my 400 though, The riding on the zx6r is super aggressive compared to the 400 for sure! Great video man!
I just got the 2024 version of what you have and I’m a big guy and it accelerates with no issues
In Philippines its year model 2022, and right now we have already year model 2023
That bike pretty as hell in person pics don’t do justice that’s the bike I’m getting soon as this snow melts
Get yourself some leathers if you want to be safe on that scooter buddy.
Or at least a ce rated armour textile jacket and some jeans .
If you put a nice Austin Racing exhaust on there that would be so nice
Did a lot of complaining...I do think those bike is for you dude...
Congrats on the upgrade! Just maintain good throttle discipline (especially in corners) and you should be fine.
If you do nothing else, get your ECU flashed. World of difference!
stead of talking something like this, go to racetrack dude and test your limit and the bike.
I plan on getting one of these. Upgrading from a 400cc. Can't wait!
lol how's yr back feel after about an hr riding that thing ?
i hated this because I "fucking suck". great vid
the quickshifter is designed for use at high rpms
How much is the insurance on that bike
The power kicks in about 10k rpms
Try quick shifting out of first at about 7 thousand rpm's. It's much smoother. Coming out of second and third the sweet spot is at 6 thousand. If you find that sweet spot there's no clunk or jump .
Ecu flash will help that
New sub ! Liked 🙏🐸🙃🙃😍👍
Those rebels are sick FR tho
You drive a car,you ride a bike
Where you from my guy
I have a 2005 ninja ZX6R 636 and it's definitely the love of my life, I lo e these bikes!!! Welcome to the 636 family my friend!! I can only imagine the 2023 is incredibly smooth! That's a beautiful bike, and your doing fine with the content!! Stick with it brotha!!
videos great man
You must just do highway runs if you were tired of your 300 after 1100 miles. I get they aren’t the fastest, but 1100 miles is nowhere near enough time on smaller bike to think it’s time to upgrade to a 600. I put about 4000 miles on my cbr500 before I really felt like I needed more power. People learn at different paces but 1100 miles is really just a week and half worth a riding. Not trying to hate tho bro, stay safe out there! Just saying for newer riders who are thinking about upgrading a little sooner than they need to.
I own a 250cc naked bike... And when I try to ride a 8++cc bike (MT09) got my heart shacking rapidly... Even though I just ride it for a few minutes...
Rad.
Sick!
Super nice video and bike.... thanks Austin. Dave 64, 650 versys, 2 year rider inAZ i would like to add another bike, 1000. Keep making vids
Funny. I was looking for the cb650, used, for a while. There isn’t many around. Not even any new ones to check out. I have the cb500 and really like the ergonomics and low center of gravity. Better than others.
Sir how did you manage to trade a 300 bike for a 2023 600 model bike given the huge price gap between the two?🧐
Good vid, have some prepared structure to what you want to talk about, helps to not go off topic too much 👍🏼 congrats on the beautiful bike, ride safe! #2wheelsdown
I subscribed, congratulations on your upgrade!! I started on a Yamaha 250 single cylinder cruiser, a 1981 250 Exciter. It was brand new. I wanted something bigger after 3 weeks! I wish you many years of good times riding. Superbikes are the only bikes I truly love. I currently ride a 2021 GSXR1000R. I also want to vlog and I have been procrastinating. Props on going for it! Be safe but have fun
Great Vid, the sound quality was great.
I will definitely follow your channel.
Great job keep them coming
fyi most riders say we ride our bike, not drive lol. glad you got used to the bike cause i felt the same going from an upright to a supersport. try not to rest all your weight on your wrists and youll be fine on long rides. hope you have more nice riding days before the cold rolls in.
Awesome
Your video was great, Thinking about getting this bike does the quick shift come standard and is it selectable like turn on or off?
Pfft, everyone vlogs today. People siting around talking to themselves is commonplace.
video quality is good but the audio is little baad bro and the video is too long... but the bike is BEAST so il subs.
Bro took that first turn going 13mph 😂 be safe bro
Had a 2019 Kawasaki 650 loved it don't get me wrong but I wish I just got a Zx6r because I grew out of the 650 pretty fast. I don't think I would ever go bigger then a 636 in my opinion. Now I got to shop around for one, definitely going to be my next bike.
And the 650 was your first bike? Cuz I’m torn between a 400 rn and a zx6r
I can't hear the bike because you talk too much🤦🏻
Have you noticed the difference in power/speed yet?
Good job bro. You’ll get better if you don’t quit.
4:10 the interesting thing about that is that, compared to other super sports, the ZX6R is pretty comfortable 😂
The R6 is the worst imo by far.
I was lost at "driving a cycle "!
Been debating between zx10 a d z6r.
Steering damper?
Huh, thats a change.

Which traction control is best to drive in????
1 2 or 3
Most will say off. 1 is what I generally keep mine on. I live in WV where there’s cinders on the road early spring, and it’s a nice feature to have if you happen to find your back tire on a loose surface as you begin to accelerate. I wouldn’t consider off unless you plan on riding in a controlled environment, aggressively. On 1 you can still ride hard but you have that little extra added protection that the majority people aren’t good enough to really ride without and benefit anyways.
Are you planning to put an exhaust on it ?
