@@andycrowley THE ZOMBIES! Beach Boys? Can we play Stevie Wonder on solo guitar? And of course Simon & Garfunkel. Not the OP but before I was allowed to choose my own music, this is what we listened to at home.
I am probably a record-breaking guitar procrastinator, nearing 4 decades of owning guitars that I don't know how to play. This has long been a source of shame and frustration. Now solidly in middle age, I'm committed to finally finding the time to start the journey I have thus far not made the time for. Your UA-cam page is quite the find, and I am very excited to finally get off my duff and start, with your help. Thanks!
Thank you very much for these TOP 10 Famous song with only 4 chords...!!!!! And your decisions to add honourable mentions in the end is wonderful. Kindly make more such tutorials of TOP 10 FAMOUS rock songs ( easy and simple ones 🤪 ). 😊👍🏻
Fantastic selection, great songs, and excellent for early guitarists. Learned to play most of these when I was first starting out. Teen Spirit, Zombie and Good Riddance are still go-tos for me - watching you break them down brought back a lot of memories. You've probably got a bunch of new players on the road with this video!
Perfect video for me...😊 I was SEARCHING for this types of video i.e, TOP 10 90s famous guitar songs. ( But easy and simple chords one only 😁😅 ). And Guess what... i found ALL 90s,.80s, 70s, 60s etc. 😱 😲 THANK YOU Bro ....!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
My friend you still make me smile to this day :() Been a follower for three years my guitarist has come on loads I love barre cords ❤️ love the long hair and keep cracking out those vids, going back to basic 4-cords is awesome.! 🙏 god bless ya 😀
Watching Andy Guitard dive into the magic of these 4 chords reminds me of that timeless wisdom that’s so often found in simplicity. Love the way you communicate music, and inspire people brother, brilliant.
This is the video that I was waiting for! I'm biased because I'm a fan girl, but my favourite songs from the 90s are If Life is So Short, and Misery, both by The Moffatts. I've mastered If Life pretty well, but I still struggle with the iconic picking from the intro, and there's a dearth of tutorials online for that.
Hey Andy, I've been a fan forever. Thanks for all you do. One question: I just noticed your A string is located closer to the E than the D in this video. Is this intentional?
Blur This is a low & Echobelly Dark Therapy both have that Bm A E vibe tho not strictly just 4 chords but still...Oh and so does Angels Robbie Williams.
Awsum vids. Easier for this beginner to follow. Would love to see Shame on the moon( Bob Segar). And Talk to me by ( Fleetwood Mac) if there is an easy version. Lol. Anyhow keep the vids coming. Learning alittle faster because of your videos.
The entirety of Taking Back Sunday songs for me.... Cute with the E (Cut From The Team) C# A E B F# C# A# B for Makedamnsure A E F# D for My Blue Heaven. Also A Day To Remember's (If It Means A Lot To You) Em/Gx2 G F#/G for verse C/G (or C add9) F#/G Em/G G C/G F#/G Em/G for pre chorus G F#/G Em/G C/G for chorus C/G G F#/G Em/G for bridge Edit: Added Name of A Day To Remember song
I can see you're playing the A string in your D/F# chord. Since there is an A note in the chord anyway, it's no big deal but I'd play the F# on the low E with my index finger.
This sound has a peculiarity. Maybe violins, maybe keyboards. But whenever I play it on the guitar, it sounds like Blind Melon - No Rain. But everything is fine. hahaha Say helo from Brazil man. Tks! good job!
@@andycrowley Alright friend, thanks for responding. Congratulations on your talent and musicality. While you played, my adolescence crossed my mind. Thanks
Well, I hate to be Mr. Nitpicky nitpicker guy, but I'm gonna because there's some inaccuracy here that could cause confusion. 1) The song is clearly using F as the tonal center so it would be either an F-major or F-minor key - and in this case it's clearly an F-minor (which would put you in the the reference key of Ab). Therefore your chords would not be sharp (and you wouldn't generally mix sharps and flats anyway.) So your first two chords are correctly called F5 and Bb5, but the next two would be Ab and Db, rather than G# and C#. So the chord progression is F - Bb - Ab - Db. 2) There's a fifth chord in the bridge, when it it goes from an F5 to a Gb5 (and then to the Bb5 and the Ab5.) So technically it's a 5-chord song. I feel like a shitty person pointing this out because it's nauseatingly nitpicky but, I've gone this far so why stop now? But, that being said, this is a GREAT video dude, thanks so much for putting the time into it. I hope my critique doesn't come across as a criticism, as I'm just trying to be helpful. This is excellent content!!
In "Wildwood" the Em/A would really be more accurately be called Em(add11)/A as the A is the 11 extension. (Being the low note, however, some folks call it an add4 but I don't really ascribe to that line of thinking.) I would imagine you're well aware of this and I personally would've left it out of the video to avoid confusion. But in case any curious music nerds are watching and reading... there ya have it.
Ok 4 chords. It’s one thing to know the four chords, playing them well is something else. I struggle with playing these type s of chords clean and on time. Although I practice guitar about as much as I play golf, and suck at both, so how can i expect to get better? Beautiful stuff though. I think I could pull off ‘in the pines’…
only 4 chords but still difficult to understand for a beginner like me.. I've no idea how to strum either but good video. This is kind of like somebody reading out a short chinese sentence from a native speaker
@@elspoocho4637 u didnt understand U thought: Same 4 chords for every single song Only need to know those 4 Was about 4 If there are power chord versions its still 4 chords So what if there is one extra chord Most of the song is 4 chords. From the 90s, I could only find Colombia and The Swamp Song that have 4 chords or fewer by Oasis. Loads of their songs have 5 chords or more, but very few use just 4. All these 10 were better than Swamp Song and Columbia imho (even though they're still quality)
You messed up on the greenday good riddance song. In the chorus... It goes Em D C G, Em G C D. THEN its the Em G Em G Em D G. You just played Em D C G twice for the chorus (or would it be the pre-chorus)

Fantastic
When I play Play It All Night Long by Warren Zevon, half the time I slip into Save Tonight.
