David Novotny Music ll
As I was watching I show was thinking about creating a playlist of these songs.
David Novotny Music that was great to see David,, loved it
Hello David, I really enjoyed your video. Absolutely marvelous! I would like to ask you what chords did you play in Come on everybody? Every chord chart on the internet says that its E A B7 A E. But it doesnt sound well. Your version sounds better...
I like how almost every Chuck Berry song in existence is literally the same riff
Don't fix it if it ain't broken
Maybellene is different though and school days, oh and nadine, oh and no money down, oh yea wee wee hours if different too......oh and sweet little sixteen yes that's different too oh wait a minute so is the house of blue lights and err let's see oh yes talking bout you is different and err let me see oh yes come on is totally different, I think for your embarresment sake I will leave it there..
You've clearly only heard like two of his songs
@@dorkle9085 Johnny B. Goode, Roll Over Beethoven, Run Run Rudolph, Carol...
Imagine the backlash there'd be if a modern band released 4+ songs with *almost* the exact same instrumental.
When you listen to chuck berry, chances are there's one other song with a similar (if not exactly the same) opening riff
Let it rock-johnny b goode-carole, many more
School day-no particular place to go
Maybelline-thirty days
Again, many more than these few examples
Thats not true. Chuck had an arsenal of licks and ya some were variations.....but brown eyed man memphis maybeline and never can tell sound nothing like johnny b goode or each other
Awesome. Finally, someone calling "rock-n-roll" actual rock'n'roll and not classic hard rock.
VioletGiraffe exactly lol. Thats always bothered me.
so true, there are people doing rock n roll guitar riffs playing metallica and nirvana snd I'm like wtf
Why doesn't this have more views? It's just brilliant!
You truly deserve that Rickenbacker. As a now 73 year old guitar player … wanna say it gives me a good feeling to see someone so young not only love my childhood n teen years music …. But to also be a masterful player too …. It Is to me most excellent and heartwarming!!!!
you can see the evolution from blues to rock n roll. nice
That rickenbacker sounds awesome man
UA-cam recommended me this today and I'm so glag for it. Keep it up! 100 riffs in one take is really impressive.
I'm glag too
I was like "Bruh! What about satisfaction?!" But then you delivered. Nice job.
love the beatles. great choice indeed!
Terrific. That Peggy Sue riff blew my socks off.
So many Beatles riffs, yo really deserve that Rickenbacker.
The Walrus 1138 when he joked about breaking the guitar I nearly died. That’s a 1,700 dollar guitar
Thank you for including my uncle in this. I deeply appreciate it! 🙏❤️
Oh man, you nailed every piece of riff u played and I love it -- keep rckn!
Amazing, especially the beatles my fav band
Thanks you Keith Moon.
Man the Beatles really did bring a lot of creativity to the table.
WHAT A MEMORY! WHAT A PLAYER!! (never be out of work) FANTASTIC GUITARIST!!!!!
The birth of Rock & Roll, what an incredible era. Really well played.
As a beatles fan I had fun watching this
I am too😂✋
When the buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens riffs fade out, I felt that.
anybody ever told you that you have a very strong resemblance to Keith Moon?? What hasn't your grandma told you hahaha
Great video!
i cannot even complete"Words of love " ,You are gifted and i like your being boyish...
You look like a young Keith Moon
There's alot of Buddy Holly and I'm grateful, also for The Beatles, and The Kinks, oh and The Stones plus the Who. New favourite vid
Some of the greatest guitar riffs known to man.
I like your guitar playing!
And you look kieth moon plus pete townshend
A hard day’s night was the best. Bravo. I’d never heard of that 1961 Beatles instrumental before.
Do you mean "Cry For A Shadow"? A Hard Day's Night is from '64.
Becoming Bond read my comment again. Separate sentences.
Oh sorry! I didn't realize. Sorry.
lovely Fadd9 chord :)
B4_BertoB yeah! Combined with a Dsus4 on Lennon's acoustic, a D on McCartneys Bass, both cymbals being hit at the same time by Starr, and George Martin playing a G on the piano! It's so good.
Awesome job bro. Loved how you put a bunch of Beatles songs on there!
Excellent a great collection of hits , many from the 60s.
Wow, toll, du hast es drauf. Es macht Spaß dir zuzuhören. Gute Arbeit.
What a bunch of great and immortal riffs were recorded in 1965!!! Very good video and nice playing
Love this! This is my kind of music and I know most of the songs you played.
Riff Masters:
1. John Foggerty
2. Keith Richards
3.
4.
5.
Thanks for adding your choices.
haha, okay.
3. George Harrison
4. Jimi Hendrix
5. Dave Davies
To many To rate really, Long live Rock and Roll!
5:22 longest riff ever
IT'S BEEN A HARD DAY'S NIGHT
Terrific play. Awesome songs. Your memory for such a long set is incredible! Most all of my early years favs. I love the Ric! Thanks for humbling me.....Ha!
Great video love this did a superb job great playing fantastic guitar love Rickenbacker’s 👍♥️👏👋😷
1962: *The Beatles have entered the chat.*
he looks like Keith Moon, Pete Townshend and Charlie Watts at the same time
Bravo Keith 😁 keeping the dream alive
I was blown away by your UA-cam video because it encapsulated every song I used know and love and play on my guitar from the 50's to the 70's when I grew up in Northern England. If only you could have played each song for a little bit longer. Thnx.
When he did 'Satisfaction' at the end I had to give it a like.
The way you put all those tunes together in one mix is done with great musicality. And the same goes for the performance! Very interesting, and a pleasure for the ears. (Those were and are great riffs, and easy to recognise!)
THIS GUY IS AWESOME
Out of our heads... Great job David !
Bravo! Great job.
That’s the sound. I love it. Thanks David. I am a drummer, wish we could play together...
This was where I first heard the riff to satisfaction
One of the few videos I have watched all the way through.
That was some nice playing!!
Great ;)
Hot damn man .. that was freakin' excellent .. and love the end ! I watched three times in a row ... great choices ... I kept thinking what you would do if someone came in and said, "hey .. whatcha doin' ?"
Thanks David, you've taken me back to when I played my 330 Rickenbacker from March 1964. Before 5 strokes took most of my ability away!
Fantastic job. Really hard to keep all those riffs on mind and play 'em in a row
Phenomenal stuff. Well done. Congratulations
He is too good to not be in a band. Saved to my playlist.
Great job brother. I’ve been wasting my time shredding. There is so much fun to be had playing these cool songs. I’m definitely hitting the wood shed. Thank you. Time to get back to having fun on guitar.
Wish that I could do that kid, great work
brilliant work. nice playing, glad you did it all with a clean tone.
Definitely one of my favorite eras for music. You are great
I love that nearly 1/5 of this catalogue is by the Beatles. It shows how good (and big) they were and still are. 😊 Thanks for making my day. 🖖😊
I didn't know Keith Moon played Guitar!
It's like a playlist I can use to remind me of what to track down and listen to! Excellent!
This is just AWESOME 😃👌🎶🎵🎼🎸
Brilliant young fella....wish you lived in Australia Id have you over for a BBQ and party with some friends...good work mate!! Cheers
Keith Moon!! how are you man its been so long
American Rockabilly through British Invasion--thanks for the great riff rundown!👍🎸‼️💯
I didn’t know that many, but who else recognized the pattern of chuck berry riffs, hint: at the beggining
Amazing, brother...wow, well done
I just recently picked up guitar, and slowly learning.
I got the cowboy chords down alright, like I can go back n forth from E to G like nobody's business, haha, but I still pretty slow....don't even get me started on those bar chords, ouch!
The sound of that Rickenbacker
Amazing playing man
I really enjoyed this video
Fab playing man .. and love that a young guy appreciates these oldies ... I am 68 now so this was my music when I was in my single digit years .. I loved it then and now too ! BTW .... check out Keith Moon .. you have his look ( I am sure you know ) and he was super cool .. actually one of THE coolest and of course an insanely great drummer ! Tip of the hat to ya !
Incredible! 👍 The amount of riffs, and the fact you play them in a row!
You are young and you have a great old Music culture
What a decade! Well done.
The looks, the Rickenbacker, the "smashing" of the guitar; we must've entered some alternate dimension where Pete Townshend built a time machine when he was younger and traveled to the future to make UA-cam videos
Dakota55 :D good story I love it :D
Excellent performance and memories. I grew up during that era.
Beatiful
I see a fellow Beatles fan using the correct spelling “beat” because you know
Thats incredible David I know every song, good taste mate for a young lad, great stuff
Nice ricken backer it's one of my favorites guitar
a comentator in this comment section named Bill Norman
call him out that he looks like
George Harrison 😅✌️
Class!! In one take is very impressive too, I struggle to play any one of them in one take!! :)
Is no one gonna point out that Keith Moon just played guitar
Hello David. I've watched this video already a plenty of times since the last couple of months and it's always again and again such a pleasure. Great compilation, great performance, enjoyable. I'm a bit shocked about the relatively little numper of views, less than ten thousand... in my opinion you deserve so much more views, so much more attention, so much more appreciation. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Germany to Czech Republic
+NicoleNeedsMusic Hi Nicole, thank you very much. I'm glad you like it. Maybe If i was record 100 Rock riffs with overdrive guitar sound, It could have more potential and views but I love this music and I'll be doing what I like anyway. If you like 60s music I released my album In The Beatles Style with my original songs. You can check it ua-cam.com/video/rce9VxOo57E/v-deo.html
+David Novotny Music Oh yes, you're totally right. If you would record 100 Rock riffs with overdrive guitar sound, it could have more potential and views. So true. I am glad there are people like you who are doing something different. It' a nice inspiration. By the way, thanks for the link! I love The Beatles. so "Beat-Les Style" sounds good to me. Great stuff. You even look a bit like someone from the 1960s. Have a nice day. :-)
BEAUTIFUL GUITAR AS WELL I HAVE THE 1964 GEORGE HARRISON 12 STRING REISSUE
Bravo David!!
Played without a fuzz box then up pops number 100 with the Stones...all riffs easily identified ...nice. 8-)
This is damn cool and your taste in music in awesome!
I think this man likes the Beatles.
JennaPasta Is Pete Townshend
Why wouldn't he?
Amazing !
I loved listening to you...
Keep going on please !!!
Thank you !!!
Felicitaciones buen guítarrista
I cant get satisfied only 100 riffs! I want to listen more!
My fav era too ! Heavy strings, flatwound, no bending, no distortion pedals....
Penicillin Heroes and Villains er ... dont forget satisfaction by the stones distortion
There was no bending?
@@natek5249 most didnt bend back then - very few had even heard of bb king , let alone heard his albums - but anyway semitone bends were the useful limit due to thick strings and high action
Ok boomer
Ok, Flatwounds do make more of a Boom sound than a Bling sound, so I think you are right
Almost fainted when i saw that ric flying over your head great video thanks for The Magical Music Journey loved it
You played the first ten years of my life.
Tx!! Great tunes!!! Love this style of Music!!
