She's always changing routines & ad-libbing. That's so hard to do onstage while right in front of all those fans. Nobody does that better, ans she's just a pure comedic genius she is!
She's AMAZING coming up with GREAT material as fast as she does.
So utterly and completely brilliant. A true original and tremendous talent.
I've never seen her before, but I'm instantly a fan, she's hysterical
She is so funny! She can make anything funny, just adlibing. She's so sarcastic but in a humorous way! She really roasted that controlling guy who got angry over her question re don't women sometimes ask the guy to get married; him: "What kind of a stupid question is that?!" LOL! 🤣
mr ed....first time I've seen and heard her too. I'm enjoying her show a lot.
Look up her special "Cats, Cops, and Stuff" .. it's in 6 parts here on UA-cam. It's from 1990 but still just as funny as ever!
Go see her live if you can. It’s so worth it!
I'm really impressed that a 2006 stand up routine can hold the test of time & be funny & relevant in 2022. I'm not a Dem & I could still appreciate her humor 100%!!!!
Amazing!
I second that. I am a conservative leaning white American male and I absolutely cherish this amazing female democrat comedian.
Same here...I'm not a Democrat but I've gotta admit that she's really good!
When you pee....do you say I'm not a dem?
It's refreshing not to hear lewd talk or profanity and she is still hilarious!
Paula is the BEST at taking a chance on audience involvement! And...at mimicking an accent!
Sublime. More people outside the US need to be introduced to this comic. And Poundstone is such a great name.
I can't believe somebody can stand up there for so long and never run out of hilarious things to say. Hands down one of the funniest stand-ups I've ever seen. Really really enjoyed this. 😊
Amazing. Loved it. Been a fan of Paula Poundstone’s forever, and she outdid herself here.
Paula Pounstone's crowd work has always been excellent. She just riffs with members of the audience.
Supper talented! 2023 and I'm listening to her again as if the first time. Very funny refreshing.
I have loved you Paula from the beginning and when the media trashed you for addiction I still loved you. You are brilliant! I am glad you are sober but this in no way affected my enjoyment of your body of work.
I have always adored her. So glad to see her doing her thing again. She is courageous
Paula is so underrated! She is great on NPR but her stand-up is so needed in today's world. Everyone should be required to watch one hour of their favorite comedian a day. 🤣 August 2022 here!
See her live if you can. I see her every time she’s in my area. So worth it.
Everyone should be required to watch one hour of Paula Poundstone a day, just for one week; the world would be ligher and brighter;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;instantly;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;who needs light bulbs;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Oh Paula,we missed you so.Thanks for the laughs.
Wow!! Did she own that guy, or what?😂😂😂
One of the best stand-ups ever. This one is classic. I go back over and over for "what kind of question is that?"
“ if one more thing goes wrong….”
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh my gosh! The way she dealt with the hateful guy! That was perfection! And the wife just laughed the entire time!
Stop it! You were literally killing me! I couldn't breathe. Literally! I have never laughed this hard in my life. Paula Poundstone is the funniest human being on earth. Thank you Paula! I needed that.
She literally killed you how are you writing this
@@anthonyschneider1918 His heart only stopped for 1 min.
@@anthonyschneider1918 I would have been reincarnated, but I don't believe in that.
@@robertrabinoff6181 That's it!
"Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me?"
More like wait, wait, you're killing me!
@@someguy2135 One minute after you drop this body you will!
She's so cool!!! Love her openness about drinking. Much respect..
"I'll handle this." -- Paula Poundstone. This was delightful.
I have always loved Paula poundstone. She is the goat of audience interaction! Amazing every time!
Absolutely hilarious. I had only seen her one HBO special she did in 1990 and I loved her. Glad to see more of her stuff, she is a comic genius.
Love her work. What a communicator onstage.
I've always hoped that Paula is authentic-- truly is the person you see here. One can only hope.
We need more love and humor.
Light and Joy to all out there--
Oh yes, she most definitely IS as great & funny & kind & friendly etc. ETC. in person ! Generous with her time & so relatable. Great 👍 👌 !!
Paula is one of the best of the best
Paula shows up on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me wearing a Pilgram's outfit. When asked why she was wearing it she replied 'I read this article or book on how to declutter your life and it said 'if you haven't worn a piece of clothing for over a year, throw it out.' Take from there. Her logic is impeccable and how she winds it into her comedy is true artistry.
NPR’S Wait Wait is a great funny show, and when she’s on it it’s even better🤣
@@chloekey8043 Yes, I agree! That show is always better when Paula is on.
And her voice and intensity just grab your attention, haha, I love it.
@@mirandazannos336 I agree w/ both of you. I like most eps of Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. They've had lots of funny guests & panelists & it's a way for me to keep up with the news w/o feeling awful about how bad things are! Paula's my fave panelist, though, & I always get more excited when I hear them announce her name! I'd be happy if she was on every week.
@@DonnaBrooks Yes, I agree with all you wrote.
I have always loved her. I am so happy that someone uploaded this.
@@maryannedelaney you know exactly well who did
She has such a wonderful humor. Thanks for sharing this gem.
Paula Poundstone is BRILLIANT! She makes me laugh harder than almost any other comedian I’ve heard.
Love her. First saw her at the Haight Street Fair in about the early 80s where she was standing on a little stage on a corner of Haight, holding a mike plugged into a little amp, and wearing a flower in her hair (it was San Francisco). I knew she would be famous someday after she proclaimed, "My mom married beneath her...species."
She is a great comedian and entertainer, and I am glad that I have watched this show twice in the last couple of weeks, and I have enjoyed it very much, both times !!!
Honestly, I didn't really like Paula's comedy for years. But I have to say, watching this comedy special, she was on freakin FIRE!!!! I absolutely loved it and subsequently now a huge Paula fan!! And, she can really think on her feet. She had the audience in the palm of her hand from her first line.
Thanks Paula for making this day a better one for me by making me laugh so much!! I am now officially a big fan!!!!
One of the great comedians from the great era of comedy she's effortless just makes it look easy, and so sharp on the wit...the best...let me do inventory, pissed myself 6 times,on the ground rolling 8 times ,what u mean its over she's coming back right..
When i first heard this lady, I rolled OVER & thought ABSOLUTE GENIUS!!! ABSOLUTELY hilarious & NO
VULGARITY?!!! SIMPLY GOOD CLEAN HUMOR& CAN LAUGH AT HERSELF & FAULTS. LOVE HER.
I LOVE THE WAY SHE HANDLED THAT GUY WITH THE ATTITUDE ABOUT ENGAGEMENT...WHEN SAYS, "I GOT THIS." ...What a MASTER Commedienne!!!
Turned it ALL AROUND on him & then makes him laugh his ___ off at himself.
WHY DOESN'T THIS HAVE MORE LIKES
She said asshole
@@brandongonzales7432 I didn't even notice that, but I'll take your word for it. Still, with comedians relying on sex jokes & innuendo & the F word every other sentence & cursing, PAULA is really HILARIOUS w/o relying on any of that!!
She has brought me to tears with laughter since I first saw her in the 1980's. She is absolutely hilarious.
I realize that this is from 2006, but it's very good footage of excellent comedy - She interacts w/ her audience like very few are able to do. I've loved Paula for YEARS, but never really sat & listened (watched) her perform live stand-up, until I saw this. Thank you so much for posting this - It was a rare treat!
Lee Cooper Agreed!
What can I say? She's superb! Timing: perfect. Ad-libbing: unsurpassed by anyone. Relatability: Marvelous. Originality: Unique while making me think "I wondered about that.." I love her!
She has long been my favorite Wait Wait panelist, and it will probably signal the beginning of the end if she ever leaves that show entirely.
@@c182SkylaneRG : Agree!
I had heard of her name years ago, but didn't
connect the name with anything. Few months ago, Aug 2022, I saw a pop up when I was on internet and it linked me to a recording of one of her comedy shows. I followed , listened, and am glad I did. She is one of the best, if not the best comediennes I've heard.
This is truly the most masterful and hilarious audience interaction I have ever seen!
I laughed through the entire show. She is the funniest person I have seen . I honestly am blown away! Real talent and unique and hilarious. Thank you Ms paula ! You are awesome.❤️
My father told me (a century ago..) If you borrow 100,000, you have a problem. If you borrow one million, the bank has the problem!
The way she handled that rude guy was perfect and hysterical... now that's talent.
i read this and was expecting a big put down by her to him, she was so tempre diffusing and kind to him and humble instead.
vayas09 ... I love how she made him look stupid, but not in a really mean/ rude way. She handled him with class.
She is fantastic!!
i guarantee you that couple is divorced... or the woman is in a halfway house for abused spouses.
Yep. And i think those jokes went over his head, too😂
WOW! She is amazing. The ability to interact with the crowd spontaneously... it's a rare talent. :-)
Warren NZ yeah and her talent for driving drunk with kids in the car and abusing children is second to none
+Joshua Bidelspach I didn't know that about her. Oh well, my comment's about her comedy not her behaviour off set.
Joshua Bidelspach
Maybe you should be a comedian.
@@johndifrancisco3642 😂😂😂
It sounds like the audience members have mics to me but I enjoyed this a lot
Excellent quality, well edited, no ads. Thanks for the upload. :)
One of the quickest minds on earth! She should at the very least be our UN Ambassador.
I'd like to see how she would handle Putin.
I'm visualizing her now as our U.N. Ambassador.... hilarious !
Recently discovered her..lots of comedians have me laughing out loud but very very few have me crying with laughter
Truly love what's in her head...maybe live there. I laugh out loud EVERY TIME I hear her. She's as funny now as 20 yrs ago.
For anyone viewing this in 2018, Paula has a new podcast called Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone and it is GOLD.
She's right. Nobody listens to her.
Thanks for info i will check it out.
Thank u kind person! I think I'll check that out, I'd never heard of her before 43 min ago but that was a damn good show!✌🇺🇸👍
cinnamonbeard thank you!
Cool. Thanks!
I Read her book . The court was very, very hard on her. She's a survivor . A lot of people would have given up comedy, after that mess. Not Paula. She's still making people laugh. It didn't break her spirit. ++
Are you talking about her book, _There's Nothing in This Book That I Meant To Say_?
Very relatable. Drinking problem, ocd, pet crazy, too tired to stand up while doing stand up and talks too much. Lmao.
What a brilliant performance, I'm still a bit in awe. So funny, and smart. I wonder what it must feel like to walk off the stage after a show like that!
Always loved Paula. She's brilliant.
"We must be the laughing stock of the world right now." Paula Poundstone 2006. Oh you sweet summer child.
how you liking the guy in office now..lol
@@salobrena6442 salo, they don't want any of your common sense and logic here. Funny how the instant a person puts an R after their name and runs for office, they become evil incarnate. Not before... And in bush's case, not after. Funny how it works that way.
Wonder how she feels about our President now?
I absolutely love that she involves the audience.
Today I had a very bad day. This lifted my spirits and made me forget if just for a moment.
I’m impressed with this woman’s spontaneous humor!
Thank you Anton. I haven’t seen her in so long. She was one of my favorite comedians.
She's def one of the most talented comedians around. I'd love to see her in person, the only problem would be, I'd have tears of laughter through the whole show.
I'd have to wear adult diapers. I wouldn't want to take the chance w/o them.
LoL 😂
This is Awesome! i love Paula! so talented and funny. She makes it look so easy! it just flows outta her like a robust river.
My neighbors must think I'm nuts because I was losing my shit over JOBBIT and HOT JOBS. LOLOLOL
"Would I be here if I didn't work with stinking Linda?!" has me laughing so hard my head hurts.
Very funny, clever and easily relatable. Thanks for posting...
She is one of my fav's. she's brilliant, and I do love it when she is on NPR's Saturday show.
I hope that woman got a clue and broke off the engagement. Kudos to Paula for saying what everyone was thinking. It was the responsible and ethical thing to do.
It's clear that he's has issues. But, I think that she is good for him. Because though our first impressions of him were not good. It doesn't mean he is a bad guy. And this just might make him a better person? Amen

My thought exactly. Total macho and control-freak. Scary men, that kind.
Sorry Keith, not our job to fix the broken 😝
I like to think it made for a good memory for them. Don't know what his accent was, but comedy doesn't translate well. It's like comedy has its own set of languages you have to learn to be understood on top of the normal languages we speak.
She is my favorite comedian! Thank you for posting this!
