  • Finally got to take my new bike down to hit the trails after installing AXP skid plate and radiator brace along with P3 pipe guard and Cycra hand guards. Also did some pre-first-ride maintance and prep to make sure it was good to go!
    link to my first ride and impressions video back when I rode my friend's XT and what prompted me to get one for myself:

      I’m really liking it so far. Weather has been garbage here so I only have about 4hrs on it so far but the smaller size makes it so maneuverable for me being 5’8”. Can’t wait to get more seat time this weekend.

    Good tips in the viseo. Also, take the muffler and it's pipe off, remove the rubber joint and use some high temp silicone on both ends of the joint. Then put it back together. That will stop the messy spooge from spraying onto your cylinder, carb, and shock spring. It's something the factory should have done but didn't.

    • @Garage2Trail
      @Garage2Trail  7 місяців тому

      Thanks! And that’s a good idea too. Luckily I was able to put two zip ties on the rubber joint and tighten them up to the point that none of that spooge got out. I’ll keep that in mind though too!

    Nice bike. I remember when 3 seas first picked up Beta when I was a Yamaha dealer in the same area. They were good guys and a huge snowmobile supporter for the area. Not too hard to plate a bike like that in Pa. but in NY pretty much impossible.

    • @Garage2Trail
      @Garage2Trail  9 місяців тому

      Thanks! That’s surprising because PA is normally the pain in the ass state for stuff like that. So even from the dealer, if they register and plate it, it’s not doable in NY? I got this one done at the dealer before I even picked it up.

    • @dandersonjr
      @dandersonjr 9 місяців тому

      When the bike is new if the manufacturer has printed on the Certificate of Origin Off Road Use Only then NY will not let you change that. In Pa. if you add a lighting kit, horn and DOT tires and have a Pa. licensed Inspection station state that it is Road Legal then the Notary can Title it as Road Legal. A Pa. dealership can do that but a NY one can't. At least that's the way it was when I was a dealer in NY.@@Garage2Trail

    I got one. You should try tossing a FMF fatty pipe on it. It turns the bike into a weapon. 25-30% more power in all ranges & still keeps that low & slow grunt. I would ditch that stock rear tire, too. I went with the VE33 with tubliss

    Looks good nice and light be a lot more manageable offroad than the xr , how does the torque feel in comparison ? . Only had one stroker in all my biking days but a road bike
    the rd500 love the sound and smell .Hope you got it cleaned up after christening it off road .👍😁

    • @Garage2Trail
      @Garage2Trail  Рік тому

      Believe it or not the torque is pretty close. These Xtrainers are specifically tuned for low end grunt and it’s got tractor like power delivery down low much like an XR which is what made me want one instantly. Add in the lightweight and I call it a 2 stroke XR400 with more top end lol. Nothing will ever beat the XR however for comfort and never having to worry about reliability. I only have 4hrs on my XT so far but they have a good track record for reliability from what I’ve gathered too.

    Enjoyed your video Xtrainer is on my wish list and this is good info for me, what is it like to ride on the road?

    • @Garage2Trail
      @Garage2Trail  7 місяців тому

      Awesome! Glad it helped. On the road it’s definitely not a highway bike as it gets a bit “buzzy” over 55. It likes to cruise at 45 in 6th gear. It works perfectly fine for getting from trail to trail but I wouldn’t use it as a true dual sport for more road miles unless I geared it up a bit. That would take away a bit from its crawling capabilities however.

  • @jarbogast197

    Question: I have a 2022 Beta 390, which i love but after riding the XTrainer, i feel so much more in control. Mine 390 is plated for the road also which i only ride forest service roads, trails, etc. Occasionally i ride enduro and other single track. My dealer offered me a straight trade for my 390 for their XTrainer. Do you think the XTrainer is a better option for me? My buddy who has a 2020 Xtrainer says i wont be able to ride at 35-45 MPH for as long as the 4T and other. What do you think?

    • @Garage2Trail
      @Garage2Trail  Рік тому

      Yeah your bud is probably right as I don’t think the XT would like to be on the road very long. I only have back roads that I hit to get from trail to trail and I usually just cruise in 45. If feel like I’m wringing it out going over 50. That’s just me though. It will do faster speeds for sure but it would be screaming I would think without a sprocket change.

    The 23s are really good looking.
    I just picked up a 2022 left over with a nice discount.
    Now you have some miles on it, what is your honest opinion of it.
    I think the front forks are very harsh over small bumps or potholes on dirt roads. And my tail bone is killing me from that concrete seat.
    The motor is nice, amazing low end torque for a 2 stroke.

    • @Garage2Trail
      @Garage2Trail  Рік тому +1

      The seat is def not as comfortable as my XR lol. The suspension I haven’t really noticed but it’s been working good for me so far over the roots and creeks that I ride. On the soft side for sure but I’m not riding high speeds trails very long to really notice if it’s harsh on sharp hits yet. The motor is amazing and tuned just right for my style of riding. I’m riding this thing like a 4 stroke and it lugs and tractors along without clutch but pulls up top too. It’s so flickable and doesn’t tire me out allowing me to just float over obstacles. I only have 3.5hrs on her so I still have much to learn and adapt to yet.
