Hey I love your content. I appreciate you mentioning Ivan Calderon sir, ppl may say I'm bias being that I'm 🇵🇷 but him not being in the Hall is a crime but then again I just found out yesterday that our countryman W. Vazquez isn't either 🤦🏽♂️ smh. Thanks again 🥊🥊 bro
Joe calzaghe one of the most underrated people out of the uk. His cardio and sweet science always has me amazed. The way he knew where to be a the perfect time was impeccable
He's underrated for a reason, but it's not he's fault completely. He was born in an era where everyone was retired, retiring or at end of their career where they were a shell of themselves example Roy Jones Hopkins ect.... But he was still a hall of fame fighter. Kind of like the Klitschko brothers they born an a weak era not they're fault, but still hall of fame fighter.
@@carloswoe5002 I'd say even that is debatable considering what especially Hopkins went on to do after that loss. I think the reality is if you are born outside of the US people are always going to underrate you. This is less the case now but still relevant to an extent.
@@carloswoe5002yea I compare his career to that of a Rocky Marciano, in between greats of their perspective eras (Louis-Liston,Patterson, who I still feel Marciano could’ve fought) and Calzaghe was between (Jones/Hopkins-Ward/Kovalev) they both have their greatest victories against war stricken greats (Louis/Jones) and still fighting past their prime like they’re in their prime (Hopkins/Moore) and they both retired before they can face the up and coming young killers. Both have crazy endurance and stamina & can throw non-stop
Truth of the matter is there was a ten year period in Joe's career Where he decided to stay in Europe and avoid the active US fighters like Winky Wright, Glenn Johnson, Antonio Tarver to name a few. Instead he only fought Jones and Hopkins on the backend of their careers. Its difficult for me to hold him in high regard because of this!
I'm a be honest, I know absolutely fuck all about combat sports, and your content isn't necessarily super suitable for someone like me with no prior knowledge. But your enthusiasm and passion for the sport that you put behind your very informative videos drives me to find out more about the things that I don't understand in your videos. Love your work man, keep doing what you're doing!
@@mr.fukk12 Doesn't surprise me, combat sports fandom on the internet is toxic af lmao, I'd also be scared to admit I don't know stuff if I was properly in it!
Now this is what I like to see whether it be boxing or MMA (MMA much more sad when the legends go tbh) I like to see the legends go out on top or at least in one last hoorah performance before they hang it up however in MMA recently it’s been some heartbreaking recent retirements
I know it's been a bit, but, Robeisy Ramirez vs isaac dogboe got me back in. My Father in law was from Cuba, and thanks to him I go deeper into the sport. we would watch obscure fights and discuse upcoming ones we were excited about. early this year he passed away and trying to watch another fight without him would leave me in tears. But then came, this title fight with my father in law's favorite Cuban boxer. He wanted to watch him win a title, and I did that for him. It wasn't the best fight but it'll go down as a core memory for me seeing another Cuban reach the peak. It gave me the catharsis needed to continue the sport, and only deepened my bond with it.
Tbh for me it was the Canelo v Plant fight, but before then I had been watching a lot of your content and I just loved your editing style and your way of explaining fights. It made me want to look more into the boxing world through documentaries, fights and more content. I hope you keep doing what you love and I hope it brings you great success!
Every time I rewatch the hasegawa fight vs Ruiz I feel like a kid again since I have watched your content for years and man just seeing an old champ ride off into the sunset like that is just so amazing that it can never get old.
Hancho I got class early tmr morning man. I can’t sleep early with you dropping cmon man 😭 great to have you back and looking forward to watching this video and being sleepy in class tmr!
If ur not an engineer major or chem or hard science major ur wasting ur time n money or ur parents money n hope to God u don't got student loans wen u can download apps to learn coding the go through a coding bootcamp
Aldo vs McGregor was the fight that got me back into boxing/combat sports when I was in college. That run Connor had to the title was crazy… and then he moved up and won another belt. Too bad he never defended, and then Khabib went and smashed him.
The match that got me back into boxing: GGG vs Daniel Jacobs. It was a middle fight of actual value in both of their careers and truly showed me the legend of GGG.
I was mostly a casual fan, enjoying videos like yours but not watching the sport a lot. Watched the recent Inoue/Fulton fight, and it really got me fired up about watching boxing when I can catch it.
I love this Video !!! I hope there is more to come. So many times we boxers who we come to love and root for go out sad this just puts a smile on my face because as we all may know, boxing is a brutal sport where some of our favorite fighters over stay their time in this sport.
Even though I was still young, Tito/Oscar. My boss was a giant Oscar fan and we bet 100. After the bell he put a mariachi hat on and started dancing talking shit about the 100 he was about to get. The look on his face when the decision was read and me getting up and grabbing the hat and dancing will be a memory that will last the rest of my life lol
Pacquiao Vs Magarito was the first fight I remember it was the day I fell in love with boxing and after that I couldn’t stop watching it I’ve watched most old fights besides the Leonard vs Hearns and Leonard vs Duran and I can’t wait to watch them
Mayweather/Canelo got me back into boxing. Took a hiatus from boxing all throughout the 2000's until 2013, with watching a few fights in between that time period.
The return of Floyd Mayweather beating Juan Manuel Marquez got me back into boxing🥊 The build up, which included JMM drinking his own piss, was overshadowed by Floyd's villain tactics.
I caught a fight with this scrappy dude named "Johnny Tapia" on tv. This guy was getting hit and come right back- with a smile on his face (all bloody or whatever)! Then he'd get knocked down, and get right back up. He had what i missed in the heavyweight world: Heart! I watched every fight i could after that. See, i started watching boxing as a kid but sometime in the early 90's i stopped watching because i was only able to see one fight a year and it would be big heavyweights that ran out of gas and the fights were... boring? i couldn't get into them, but Tapia- I would back that man on everything- RIP
My hiatus closely mirrors Floyd's short lived retirement. I watch Mayweather Vs Hatton and dropped of boxing a little until 09 which was a great year, Marquez vs Diaz; PAC man vs Hatton; Maidana vs Ortiz etc etc...
Gotta disagree I seen Holmes a couple times in early 90s n he was talking to the crowd the whole time through the whole fight everytime it made us all feel like he wasn't taking it seriously n we paid good money to watch him spar I've disliked Holmes since then
Just started the vid and ik im in for a treat. I had a vid suggestion after what u said in the beginning but could we get a vid on fighters u feel SHOULD be in the hall of fame but aren't? Looking forward to more of ur work hancho
The fight that got me back into boxing was an obsure fight from eric el terible morales the fight were he almost passed out weighing in the immediately left on a stretcher n rehydrated with the needle i believe he fought the American who beat his younger brother one of his younger brothers
Sucks that Roy was no longer THE guy and that Calzaghe's hands got too bad at this point he needed to retire. A prime fight between those two would have been fun.
Actually Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz got me back into it. Especially after watching Untold on Netflix 4 Paul. I lost interest after Vitali Klitchsko retired. He is probably my favorite boxer ever then Mike Tyson is 2nd....
TR claimed so much of the video I just decided to remove it because that'll mean I'll have to cut out random 3-5 seconds out several areas in the video to where is unwatchable. Which is silly because it's all the footage is within fair use.
Salute to Vitali Klitschko! Not only was he a great boxer, he also is a brave and honorable man, leading the Ukrainians against the Russians on Battle of Kyiv 🫡🇺🇦
Ukraine will be let out to dry after NATO/UK/US is done and decided to move on. Its all politocal theater amd a shame to see so many dupes dying for the most corrupt governemnts in the world (USA,RUS,UKR)
Larry Holmes deserved more respect than he receives, but many of his title defenses were against fighters who struggled to achieve mediocrity. His failure to stop Eric "Fixed Fights" Eich A/K/A The Fat Embarrassment shouldn't be considered an accomplishment.
Without context, yeah for certain. With context, I do understand. His brother forced to retire early at his peak from an injury then to get killed in a plane crash . Rocky lost his head and I think his funeral was closed casket making it more devastating to the family. Just had a supportive family that wanted to keep his legacy and name alive since he's no longer around.
