Thank you for shining light on boxers from outside of the American sphere. I don't think people realize how hard it is for some of these guys, especially in the lower weight classes, to gain real fame and fortune

And than when they do and take a big fight in america down the line after spending they’re whole entire lives fighting and giving everything for that opportunity and than they get robbed in America and than 6 months later nobody acknowledges the guy got robbed and he’s an afterthought in boxing and loses everything he worked for.

    • @cfs7338

@@mr.fukk12 Facts. A great example is Rolly vs Ismael Barroso. Rolly is a guy who only is relevant because he's got a big mouth + his alignment with Mayweather promotions. He got an extremely privileged title shot at 140 against a Venezuelan who worked his way up the rankings the hard way. Dude gets a complete gift stoppage, and just like that Barroso gets robbed from his world title and all the opportunities that comes with it.

At the time it was widely thought (strongly suspected) Leon Spinks was cherry picked so that Ali could set the record for regaining the WHW title 3 times. 4. Many fighters who were successful at an early age were burnt out by the age when most fighters are starting to peak; Wilfred Benitez is a classic & tragic example.

Yoko Gushiken and Jiro Watanabe are two of my favorite fighters of all time. Both are criminally underrated for Gushiken being a HOFer and Watanabe should be a HOFer. I’ve linked every fight video I can find of them to their boxrec pages if anyone’s interested in watching the Fierce Eagle and Watanabe during their heydays.

I'm from Delaware and It is easily Dave Tiberi. He was robbed when fighting against James Toney during his IBF Middleweight reign. The closet fighter from the Diamond State to win a title. God willing, I can be the first.

4:04 ngl The first thing I said when I saw that man was, “He got hair like my daddy!” And it’s also wild that that great boxer was the visual template for Mr. Satan. I completely thought he (the cartoon character, not the champion), was made up or a caricature of American ✌️ movie martial arts ✌️ actors. Dope segment.

If u notice most boxer on the list are from smaller weight class where there isn't a lot of fighters therefore they get title shots quicker.

Hmm... To answer your question(New Zealand), our top MMA fighter would have to be Izzy, and I'd say Joseph Parker for boxing. New Zealand has plenty of talent in both disciplines though.

Bro I'm from Australia and there are so many great Australian fighters but most of them are not boxers. Alexander volkanovski the MMA fighter is probably the best fighter in the world currently. John Wayne parr is one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time. But the best boxer from Australia has to be Kostya Tszyu without a doubt.
