Looks like the standard ac game, worth picking up at half price. The day/night cycle should be pretty cool, being an assassin who only operates in broad daylight always seemed strange.
Honestly, I was going to buy it anyway, but I'm still really happy to hear you say "it has some problems" rather than "It's compete and utter garbage".
This game was my first ps4 game back in 2015 Christmas. I was gaming on ps3 up to that point. To me this game blew my mind. It felt next gen, it ran like a charm and I absolutely loved the theme. looks like I'll have to start pre-installing when I get home. I didn't have many technical issues with Unity so I actually really liked it. If this is just an improvement of that game but with a bit more focus, it seems like just the game I need until Fallout 4
AngryCentaurGaming Man I just don't know how I feel about this game. On one hand it's surprisingly fun and I've spent a few enjoyable hours not even doing story missions, just going around exploring and doing side activities. Plus while some of the city looks boring, there are a lot of locations that simply look beautiful and it makes you wanna stop and appreciate before going and climbing the fuck all over them. On the other hand the game just feels so lazy. The AI is laughably dumb, the parkour feels incredibly unresponsive way too often, and i hate the combat at times. Having higher level enemies that are tough to kill early on is ok, but there is no progression before facing them. The whole city and all of its activities are everywhere and higher leveled enemies are sprinkled everywhere as well. In Black Flag it worked because all of the higher leveled enemies were at the bottom of the map past Cuba and it took awhile before the game pushed you in that direction so you had time to build yourself up. Here there is none of that progression so it's frustrating. One minute you are killing a dozen dudes and the next some guy with a 9 over his head takes 100 slashes before punching you twice and killing you. It's frustrating. Overall I'd say it's really good for an average game.
First negative comment was made at 8:00 min in. Only about bugs and enemy levels. I played the game in 2016 and I had no bug problems. The is the best assassins creed game out of all the out style ones. It is perfected in the quest system and combat system. This REVIEW LEFT OUT THE OPPORTUNITY KILL SYSTEM which made the game have a hitman stealth feel to it for every boss kill. Plus, the IGN review for this game said the stealth mechanics are awful, but they are actually AMAZING!!! This review does say the stealth is good. Thanks! Also, I never had an issue with enemies randomly spawning in. Game was very fun and addictive for me. I played uncharted 4 before this game and it was a bore feast. Then I played this game and I had an amazing time, story + combat and all.
This game is an incredible step for the AC series. I love the music. I love the villain. And I love the assassination cutscenes. Everything about this game draws me in more and more.
Nice. I have to admit, this review has kinda got me hyped for an AC game. That hasn't happened since Revelations. I'm not going to buy it at full price though with the kind of bugs that you're describing. With as many of these games as they release on a yearly basis, you would think they would figure out how to stop the game from being so buggy. Or I guess that could be the problem... they don't have the time to polish and optimize the game properly with such a short window. Thanks for review, BTW.
Had a couple bugs with sound shutting off myself, but it autosaves so often that a restart wasn't too big of a deal. As far as the leveling system goes, you can power-level yourself to 10 before even clearing all of the buroughs. Just do a few side missions and clear a couple, and the rest of the story is a cinch. I was sort of sketched for AC to make a comeback, but this game definitely did it. Hoping for another naval game in the future, too. Black Flag and Rogue were awesome. I could only imagine the kind of tech that could be implemented with the new Unity/Syndicate engines.
Good lord the combat looks awkward. The animations don't blend with each other at all! It looks like they just picked them at random. Did it not dawn on them that animations need transition points? That's rule number one!
+Angry Toast Whoever did the combat in Mad Max did a good job. It was better than Batman in my opinion because in Batman he was magically connected to the enemies. In Mad Max, you have to judge distance. That makes combat more engaging versus being a "button mashing-fest".
xavier0237 I haven't played Mad Max, the combat in that looks solid. But, yeah, that little transition thing in Batman games has always kinda annoyed me. But other than that, the animation itself is pretty fantastic if you closely inspect it..
Black Flag was the last Assassins Creed that was any good. Problem: They force out quantity over quality. If they released 1 great game every other year, we'd still get insanely excited over what the next hit will be. Instead, it's an annual (sometimes bi-annual) predictable event that's become dull and predictable. *Tomb Raider on the other hand is f'ing awesome this year.*
+Queen Elizabeth II I dunno, I really like Syndicate so far. Black Flag seems kinda like the most overrated AC yet. I mean it was good, but it was not AC2 levels of good. Neither is Syndicate, but damn that detail gorgeus, the gameplay is, well it's "modern day AC", and the story, well it exists but I hardly know any of it because I am instantly tempted to skip a cutscene whenever Jacob opens his mouth.
+Reza Nabavi You mean the site that fired Jeff Gerstmman for giving a game a bad review (kane and lynch) because they had an ad campaign with said game publisher?
AngryCentaurGaming I'm glad you think so. I know some AC fans didn't like Black Flag or Rogue, but those were actually the first ones I played and it's hard to imagine playing AC otherwise.
+Son of Tiamat (formerly known as tiakpark) I would actually consider pre-ordering a naval based AC game. Black Flag was the first one I truly loved in the series.
***** I enjoyed it quite it a bit. It didn't have the annoying tailing missions or the sudden difficulty spikes of Black Flag and just seemed to have better progression. Also, I loved exploring New York City. The counter-assassin thing did get old though. You can't even walk anywhere without another assassin trying to jump on your head, and the assassin interception missions could be annoying as well. Also, making money was piss easy. Some say it's a copy/paste of Black Flag, but I don't see how that's such a bad considering. It wasn't just spewed out. If anything, it had more thought put into than Black Flag.
I love your reviews. Your voice is easy to listen to and you always seem to be giving an honest review with lots of detail about the gameplay. Thanks! ~subbed
I got it for $45 on PS4, so far the bugs are there, not game breaking for me yet but otherwise a fun game, with a story you can care about. The gameplay mechanics (parkour, combat) are much improved over Unity.
Wow I really see you becoming one of the most trusted game critics on you tube, your reviews are vary fair and is obvious that you absolutely work your ass off to have them in time and with top quality in every way. If you say wait for a sale for AC syndicate, then wait for a sale it is for me.
I missed the God damn Unity mode in this awesome game. I want to go online pair with 4 others then done the job. but for u guys nitpicking that mode is gone
What a great review. Full of details and really specific on the gameplay characteristics. I'll follow your advice and wait for sale. I was hoping that this game would suck real bad, but it's good to know that we still can have fun with this franchise.
As fun as this looks I'm kinda burnt out on AC titles (and honestly still a little butthurt after my experience with AC Unity). It's become the equivalent of eating your fav. food breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day for a year... and nothing else. You're going to get bored of it at some point and even spicing it up in different ways will eventually grow tiresome as well. Also, whether people liked it or not, a huge part of the reason I dug the story was BECAUSE of the future plot line. As convoluted and silly as it was, it's always been the MAIN STORY and playing as the assassin's of the past have been the SIDE STORY that pushes that story forward. Ever since Desmond's story was brutally cut short and abruptly ended, it's felt like something important was missing and as a result, it's been very hard to get invested in these titles. I'm not gonna lie though, Evie looks like a grade A BADA$$, I dig the rope traversing of environments and I definitely see plenty of Fun Factor to be had here. Wasn't gonna pick this up at all, but thanks to your review I'll wait for this one to hit the bargain bin and give this series another go.
Now imagine the AC games if they actually spent full proper development time and resources instead of churning them out every 10 seconds as if all their fans have the attention spans of fruit flies and will forget them completely if they don't pop their heads out to remind that they are still alive asking "do you remember me?!". The day that happens I can honestly believe AC can be a GOTY contender.
MAN you just deliver the BEST reviews overall on youtube. In my humble opinion that is.. Its just awesome how your honesty and professionalism shines through. Thanks buddy! I always go to your channel if im in need of a solid review that reflect most of the aspects of the game.
The things i really like in a game is the funfactor and plot and it is something AC gave to me an amazing plot and tons of fun but i never in my life bought a game day one or month one i usually wait for the price to come down specially in my favorite games excellent review btw one of the best i have seen
I liked leveled enemies in Unity. It made wandering off in to areas you weren't supposed to be in more exciting as you had to be more careful. Syndicate seems (haven't played it) more punishing in that regard though.
+therainbowpigs Yeah it may not look as fancy as the combat in the past games (at times it does) but this combat is actually a good step in the right direction. You actually feel a challenge now. whereas before it was counter, then string 1-hit kills together; sure it looks good, but do u really just want to kill all ur enemy's at the press of one button? kinda gets boring.
Exactly. I like how a lot of people said that they'll wait for reviews after Unity, yet they look at a positive review, and they either say it sucks before they themselves play the game, or claim the the reviewer was bribed.
the game is actually good. There is also a variety of mission, there is no grinding, the level up system is good. The AI is smarter. the ripe launcher is amazing. The voice cast is amazing. Animations are good( there are pretty brutal). You should try it, the game is seriously good
+bob bob I played it. Jacob sucks. Everything else is pretty good. Probably the best video game city I've ever seen (in terms of rich detail, mind you, not creativity, of course).
What the fuck are you doing reading my username? If it's the rich detail you're praising, does that not mean the artists involved in that process would have to be creative?
i just love how alive the city feels. just now i encountered a group singing the national anthem in the streets, among other really recognizable songs. I love this game so far.
Interesting piece of history Darwin because he found an ant that captures other ants and forces them to their work believed slavery was justified. Just thought I would bring it up because he is portrayed as a people's hero in this game.
Heynow ~ Cool Review : i got my A C Syndicate Gold Edition april 27, 2017 im guessing i missed the bugs / audio issues ( Ty Gaming Gods ) because i returned back to Syndicate to finish the story ( Witcher III took over my life ) butt i thought certain areas & buildings had lovely Texture Detail, jaw dropping moments 🎮 Thanx 4 Posting. 🇵🇹
Side Note : went into Documents / A C S / Config settings and changed One Value : Fog to Zero ....... Got Rid of the dirty haze & fog ..... Now I Climb up BIG BEN and truly see a beautiful London : breathtaking ✨
Not My Name Are you seriously implying that ac games are bad just because they got firearms? Get some fucking education or remove yourself from the internet entirely, people like you are the reason why youtube community has such a low reputation
Microtransactions? Are they there? Unity had them for absolutely no reason. I 100% agree with the leveling system, it heavily constricted any sort of progress I had at the beginning of Unity. I didn't even want to explore. How about the eye sight of the ranged enemies? In Unity, they were the worst, and several heist missions asked that you not get spotted, for higher rewards, and these guys would really just ruin that experience. P.S. Oh yeah, as always, great job!
+NDN Omar (Omar) Their are Micro transactions but they mostly remain hidden and really have no benefit. They really only exist if you're too lazy to actually play the game. As for the level I have to disagree slightly. Though it did hinder progress in some parts, taking a stealth approach and systematically killing everyone worked no matter the level of enemy. And as for eye sight I'd say the range of enemies balances out with how fast you become anonymous. As soon as you kill all the enemies that can see you or simply run/climb out of their sight range you become anonymous within a good 2-5 seconds. So no more waiting in the hay for an hour.
As usual, i'm a huge fan of your linguistic abilities, sass, and on point reviews. Thank you. I always come here now before buying a game to see if you've done a review and i'm glad you did this one.
DarkKingBowser Where you there when i was a we bit kid? No it's not, in fact it's the least interesting game of the whole franchise with the weakest set of characters i have ever seen.
Loved AC black flag, one of the first games on the ps4 and definitely one of my faves. I was quick to buy Unity, remembering how great the previous game was- only to be crushed by the most unpolished and rushed game I have ever played. It put me off Assassins creed, so I didn't buy Syndicate. Not sure if I regret it or not- Should i getthe game?
+callum micallef You mean other than everything I discussed in the gameplay section? Or do you mean just my thoughts on the little bit of modern day stuff
+callum micallef Probably depends. For most of us its one of the largest pluses. Not because it wouldn't be good but because it hasn't so far. So keeping it lean means the far parts get out ahead.
Waited for the sale. Picked it up yesterday and I'm super excited. This title is surprisingly cheaper than Black Flag now, and was a few bucks cheaper for Xbox One than for PS4 where I picked it up. Odd.
I actually have fun playing this game compared to Unity. It's a nice addition, not as great as Black Flag but overall it's better than Unity even the side missions are fun to do.
+Emerson Fant ur right about graphics at the time but the story isn't that great and i think it wasn't an assassins creed game its more of a pirate game too much naval shit
CrashingCoyote so Black Flag wasn't assassin's creed game but it's more like a pirate game because too much naval and yet Rogue is better? when it has just as much naval as Black Flag (Rogue has even more improvement on the naval perspective than Black Flag) and it's not even assassin game but it's a templar game. as if anything, it sounds hypocrite.
I would rather have a different take on how the main character involved or became an Assassin instead of another generic revenge bullshit like Ezio. Edward awful eh? Yet he and Mary were one of the clever people who knows how to blend in within the society and both Assasin and Templar. The story was more focus on finding the Sage. If it's solely about Edward, he's became more interesting especially when he's on London, doing Assassin's work solo.
+feyzal92 Black Flag had the weirdest ending ever. I enjoyed the game (although I enjoyed Freedom Cry more and Rogue twice as much), but the ending was like WTF...not worth. The whole game was about finding the Observatory. I wait for something crazy to happen and progress the story into a cliffhanger that makes me want more, but no...just gonna explain to my estranged daughter why it's a ship and not a boat. It's like they couldn't tell if they wanted it to be about the pirates or about the Assassins&Templars...so in the end it was neither. Now suddenly it's about your daughter you've never met.
I was actually surprised you gave it wait for sale. But bugs are fair enough reason. Plus the lack of hibernate support for xbone is odd. Sick review. Though face it we all want feudal japan with samurai awesomeness and ninjas. :)
+Dr. Dhoom This game was intended to go in a whole different direction, Desmond wasn't supposed to die at the end of Assassin's Creed 3, Ubisoft and the creator of Assassin's Creed (Patrice desileys) had conflicting outlooks for the game's future, and Ubisoft fired him, and now we have these empty shelled versions of Assassin's Creed.... really sucks, I used to be in love with this series. :/
There is an interview on UA-cam of the voice actor for Desmond, he adds some pretty interesting details about where the future of this game was originally intended....
+nick banana (TheGuyThatBeatUpDemonKing) the overall story might suck but the individual game stories are usually pretty good and the gameplay is always fun. i really like the upgrading system of this game.
Maybe I'll buy this just to refund it :P Tired of the Semi annual buggy releases. It's become so normal for them cause they know people will just deal with it at this point.
IGN says yes, I say NO. Gamespot says yes, I say MAYBE, ACG says YES and I JUMP!....HIGH! thanks for all your reviews bro. non-corporate reviews from a fellow gamer. SOLD for this one!
Am I the ONLY person who thinks the UI and HUD of this and any other Assassin's Creed game are an insult for the intelligence of gamers?? Why isn't anyone complaining about the white glowing opponents, the flowing circle/arrow around the protagonist, the omnipresent destination marker or the penetrant line on the road, which shows where to turn next, as if the minimap with its navigation line wasn't enough? This is frightening, really. I mean how in god's name can you guys immerse into such a game? Feel like a part of the world with all this eyesore? How can you not be annoyed by all these glowing, blinking and moving indicators? Haven't you played any game with a subtle UI yet? If not, do it as soon as possible and you won't ever play any Ubisoft game, I promise. Far Cry, The Crew, Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed. They all suffer from the same disgusting HUD/UI design, destroying even the slightest immersion that's created by the otherwise great environments. And no reviewer out there even mentions these aspects, ever! It proves that they apparently don't have a clue what gaming actually is about. It's about diving into another dimension, another reality, another world. And whether it's a realistic or fantastic world, it should always be a place where a gamer can immerse into the environment. Speaking for myself, I couldn't immerse into ANY Ubisoft game yet. For reasons which I stated above. Unfortunately though, I seem to be the only one to value a clean picture with subtle elements that gently aid the player - and not lead him entirely through the game. Before you guys start insulting my mother and calling me names: This is just my subjective opinion and I didn't mean to offend anyone. I hope someone replies something constructive so I can find answers about this phenomenon which I can't understand.
+Asylant I respect your opinion; i don't (and anyone should have) the need to insult you just 'cause you have an opinion. Btw, i'm gonna tell u the mine: Most of the games i play (Batman, GTA, Disagea, Halo, Saint Row, Zelda, The Elder Scroll saga, even The Witcher 1 & 2, cause i haven't played 3, and many more) have the dumbest AI for any man in this earth. If i want a goo challenge, i rather play Dark Souls 1 & 2 (i like 2 more), any Bioware game on high difficulty or...FF1? xD The point is, most od the games IMO have a poor intelligence and seems ridiculous for me even if the game isn't supposed to be a challenge. As i said, i would NEVER play any of these games, like batman, gta, hell, even most of the metal gear games, for the difficulty. I play for many reasons: story, world, music (especially this), level design, and the fun factor. For me, AC have many fun factors. As i've played most of the AC games, i only enjoyed 5 or 6 over the 9 cannonical games. In conclusion, maybe don't have many challenge like Dark Souls or maybe Monster Hunter (well, this one gets easier and repetitive imo), but you can have a blast playing it a while. Btw, it seems like Ubisoft improved the combat challenge. Sorry for writting a lot and i espect to hear (read) you later. Thanks for your attention. /o/
just found your reviews really like the format buy sale rent haven't seen that before very helpful very cool will be checking out these reviews in future :D
+naturbur to be fair, that could be said about any ac game. if you're on pc you are better off waiting anyways with how buggy new releases seem to be, sadly.
i agree, it is great. i heard the pc port had issues at launch. i had such a bad taste in my mouth after ac3 that i swore off the series. then i saw a let's play and got interested.
I've done my absolute best to not watch a single thing on this game except for its first reveal trailer because I don't want anything spoiled for me so I thank you for keeping the spoilers to a minimum this review :)
I know it was boring and useless being outside of the animus in previous titles, but I feel like the present day story glued each game together and made the story more interesting imo. Great review as always!
We will never reach the heights of ac 2 and brotherhood I still say ezio is the best stop giving us this shit every year and take 2 or 3 years and do an 1,2.brotherhood ,revelations and 3 on xbox one and ps4 like mcc
The best thing about AC Unity that I got Far Cry 4 for free .. I have good feeling about this one though. Pre-ordered already, 6 hrs till release :D I like the "Buy, Wait for sale, Rent or never touch" .. numbers can be misleading, your 8 score might be 6 to me. subbed!
you're right... even the AI is as bad as it was in ac2. the game is boring as hell. They aren't even putting any effort for the game to be an Assassin's creed game, it's just another watered down copy paste with better graphics, without a story. Just missions all over the map that are repetetive...
youre right. ive been playing since the first and i can tell you after playing a couple of the last games i vowed to take a gooood break from this shit. kinda getting tired of the same shit over and over. the games are ok atm but milked to hell, i put syndicate on hold now for 10months. gotten a good year + a few months break since unity... that makes it enjoyable to play a new installment
Did you ever think people have lives and can’t play ever AC game that releases. Playing only AC black flag , and AC 2 before that , I think this is a great game. It has so much in it plus the Jack the Ripper story was one of the best dlcs I’ve played. Fighting isn’t bad , bad compared to AC at it’s peek (AC 2) no it’s not that but it is sooo much better then most games out.
Make no mistake people. The game is fun, the core gameplay is there. But the bugs need just a bit of patching and yes I have all the current ones. I really really enjoyed my time with this though.
Great review as always!
+AngryCentaurGaming
Question Karak: What's your favorite Assassin's Creed game?
Splendid review by the way!
+Frank Zengerink it's got to be 2! That game is without doubt the best.
Awesome review as always
+AngryCentaurGaming At least it comes with two 500mb Day 1 Patches
+AngryCentaurGaming Great review!
assassin creeed games are like lego games,it all depends on which theme appeals to you.
+Steven Benson So true
Ha-ha LOL well said tho
Next year they should take a break and focus on making a better game. Meanwhile they should release a remastered version of Ezio's storylines on the next gen consoles.
yo you realize you actually fucking predicted that shit
holy hell thats weird

Just kidding. It was actually really fun.
+Itachinto LOl. Just running around in AC kicking people in the balls and rapping Dan Bull raps
AngryCentaurGaming KARAK MA MAN!!! How's it going bro?
+Itachinto Mind on my money money on my mind
AngryCentaurGaming Thanks for the reviews on Need For Speed, Rise Of The Tomb Raider and Halo 5. Influenced my buys :)
Itachinto "U Wot M8 Edition" hahahahahah you made my day 😂
Still waiting for a Japanese setting
ZOLL-IN-SPACE That would be awesome.
ZOLL-IN-SPACE yeah a japanese setting where we get to assassinate the weaboos
Would prby just be a DLC
They will use the Japanese setting to launch the franchise on the ps5
That'd be so fucking badass. Ninja's Creed.
Best review i've seen of the game so far, I put over 20 hours in so far and you're spot on with everything. Very nice broad review !
+bakerXderek Thanks man
Awesome dude love that people love syndicate

Fuzzy Green the whole idea is that you are a hidden blade in the crowd
Honestly, I was going to buy it anyway, but I'm still really happy to hear you say "it has some problems" rather than "It's compete and utter garbage".
that's called bias which = ign and gamespot
ACG only reviews that matter
2:17 I thought Evie's gonna hit her head there for a moment.

+AngryCentaurGaming lol....ginfers
+DJKrispyK man thats what happens when you stay up for 4 days
AngryCentaurGaming Damn son get some sleep!

Finally a reviewer who doesn't have an irritating voice and is objective when it comes to his verdicts. Cheers.
+max rai thanks max
Nice. I have to admit, this review has kinda got me hyped for an AC game. That hasn't happened since Revelations. I'm not going to buy it at full price though with the kind of bugs that you're describing. +ButtermilkTuesdays I am sure after a patch or two it wil be fine
AngryCentaurGaming Hopefully. But you never know with Ubisoft.
Had a couple bugs with sound shutting off myself, but it autosaves so often that a restart wasn't too big of a deal.

You are easily my favorite game reviewer and commentator! I hope you'll be around in the gaming industry for a long time to come. :D
I really like your reviews. You are like the first place I go for reviews.
What about an AC game set in india with old buddy Gandhi and river Ganges ,Taj Mahal and many other exotic locales.
Good lord the combat looks awkward. The animations don't blend with each other at all! It looks like they just picked them at random. Did it not dawn on them that animations need transition points? That's rule number one!
Seriously... No other developer besides Warner Bros can get this combat system right.
+Angry Toast Monolith? Warner Bros is not a dev, although Monolith did its own take on what Rocksteady did before with the Batman series
Yeah i meant the developer of the Arkham series and The Shadow of Mordor game, whatever it's called.
Hey man nice review, and more importantly an honest one, this is the only syndicate review i trust, keep it up man!
+YellowRaptor Well thank you
gamespot gave this a 9/10. what are they smoking?
It's called getting payed off..
+Reza Nabavi compared to unity its a 9?
+Reza Nabavi ubisoft pays big gaming magazines for their reviews
+Reza Nabavi You mean the site that fired Jeff Gerstmman for giving a game a bad review (kane and lynch) because they had an ad campaign with said game publisher?
+Reza Nabavi That's why we have ACG for more honest reviews.
I haven't seen any other reviews or gameplay yet. I was waiting for yours. Good job dude
+Hans Florendo Thanks so much Hans I appreciate that
I still kinda hope they'll do another naval based Assassin's Creed, maybe one that takes place during the Napoleonic Wars.
+Son of Tiamat (formerly known as tiakpark) That would be awwesome actually
AngryCentaurGaming I'm glad you think so. I know some AC fans didn't like Black Flag or Rogue, but those were actually the first ones I played and it's hard to imagine playing AC otherwise.
+Son of Tiamat (formerly known as tiakpark) I would actually consider pre-ordering a naval based AC game. Black Flag was the first one I truly loved in the series.
***** Well Ironically, Rogue seemed better put together than Unity. Hell, Rogue was arguably better than Black Flag.
Thanks! ~subbed
thanks sir
I can dig it, I am new to the channel but I already love how you review. Thanks!
I got it for $45 on PS4, so far the bugs are there, not game breaking for me yet but otherwise a fun game, with a story you can care about. The gameplay mechanics (parkour, combat) are much improved over Unity.
Honestly, I liked that enemies had different levels. Combat has always been way too easy in AC. This kind of spiced it up a little.
Wow I really see you becoming one of the most trusted game critics on you tube, your reviews are vary fair and is obvious that you absolutely work your ass off to have them in time and with top quality in every way. If you say wait for a sale for AC syndicate, then wait for a sale it is for me.
+Diego V. Thanks Diego. We will see. Just glad people liked the reviews.
I missed the God damn Unity mode in this awesome game. I want to go online pair with 4 others then done the job. but for u guys nitpicking that mode is gone
That mode was ass the whole game unity was ass u got issues
judging from the fights, the twins seem to have trained with Ip Man's school of superfast punches
the wait for sale took me by surprise after the glowing review
+Geoffrey de Brouwer Yep bugs can do that
Wait 4 sale was perfect advice, im pretty sure all platforms have done 60% sale discounts already, awesome
I really miss having the option to switch weapons. unity combat was cool but u had 1 melee, 1 gun..
What a great review. Full of details and really specific on the gameplay characteristics.
I'll follow your advice and wait for sale. I was hoping that this game would suck real bad, but it's good to know that we still can have fun with this franchise.
+Rodrigo Deway With 1 or 2 small fixes this is going to be great
As fun as this looks I'm kinda burnt out on AC titles (and honestly still a little butthurt after my experience with AC Unity).
+Starkiller234 Sup Star! Hope all is well man
GOD DAMN, this script for the review is charming, clever, AND hilarious. Kudos ACG you're the classiest fuckin' game reviewer I know.
+shadow12147 thanks
I have played this since launch on PS4, and I havent had any of those bugs you mention.. Maybe its just me
Sound not outputting was in Black Flag aswell. Sometimes the heavy cannons and mortars didnt make any sound
Hey Karak, assuming you've played most of the past entries, where does this rank on your list of favorite Assassins Creed games?
+Joey Mercado If this was bug free. Easily top 2
+AngryCentaurGaming wow. High praise, those bugs must have been annoying as hell! Haha
+AngryCentaurGaming Jesus, top 2? Really? What installment is your favorite of the series?
Looking forward to playing it on pc when it comes out. Hopefully it won't be a mess. Are you planing on reviewing the pc version?
Now imagine the AC games if they actually spent full proper development time and resources instead of churning them out every 10 seconds as if all their fans have the attention spans of fruit flies and will forget them completely if they don't pop their heads out to remind that they are still alive asking "do you remember me?!". The day that happens I can honestly believe AC can be a GOTY contender.
Wow. You make the best reviews out there. Like you really explain everything that there is to know without spoilers. gr8 r8 8/8 m8
Honestly I love your channel always great reviews. Keep it up
+Steven Lowe Thanks Steven!
Thanks for the review! Only reviewer I trust!
+Adarsh C Thanks!
MAN you just deliver the BEST reviews overall on youtube. In my humble opinion that is..
Its just awesome how your honesty and professionalism shines through. Thanks buddy! I always go to your channel if im in need of a solid review that reflect most of the aspects of the game.
+Mathis M. Nielsen THanks so much
Cane Swords, bolder Hats and fight clubs, I'm in. but the bugs are really off putting, I wait for this one til its out a while.
I've played the game myself and the bugs for me aren't game breaking or really annoying as of yet :)
thanks for the insight.
+Caomh Mc Gillion no probes :)
Yh I've played it as well and I haven't experienced any game breaking or even just annoying bugs yet
I just hope the Jack the ripper dlc is available to purchase separately instead of buying the season pass.
Great review. Your channel is the first one I go to when a new game comes out.
+Brian Willey Thanks so much Brian
I still think black flag is one of the best in the series nothing can compare to that naval combat.
+TheMagicMisfit its a great gamne
The things i really like in a game is the funfactor and plot and it is something AC gave to me an amazing plot and tons of fun but i never in my life bought a game day one or month one i usually wait for the price to come down specially in my favorite games excellent review btw one of the best i have seen
+Manoel Eduardo Araujo Agreed
Wondering if PC port gonna be any good...
+mestido I think it will be fine!
+AngryCentaurGaming loll highly doubt that statement^
I liked leveled enemies in Unity. It made wandering off in to areas you weren't supposed to be in more exciting as you had to be more careful. Syndicate seems (haven't played it) more punishing in that regard though.
great review!!
+zerohill thanks
The fact that you mentioned pauses before diving into water testifies to how great of a reviewers you are.
+Sanna Thanks Sanna! LOL. I wondered if anyone would even notice that.
Seriously though. You don't review to just to review. You actually care.
+Sanna Thanks Sanna.
the combat looks so generic...
+xabdev I would still take this game's combat system over AC 1-4 press b and then x to kill combat any day
+therainbowpigs Yeah it may not look as fancy as the combat in the past games (at times it does) but this combat is actually a good step in the right direction. You actually feel a challenge now. whereas before it was counter, then string 1-hit kills together; sure it looks good, but do u really just want to kill all ur enemy's at the press of one button? kinda gets boring.
The bullet dodging move is freaking cool as hell too
People who actually played syndicate say it's really fun and ok. Meanwhile, people who just LOOKS at gameplay says it sucks. PLAY the game first??
Exactly. I like how a lot of people said that they'll wait for reviews after Unity, yet they look at a positive review, and they either say it sucks before they themselves play the game, or claim the the reviewer was bribed.
+Ashton Morris That's the essence of the internet hivemind.
the game is actually good.
+Joe Wiik Ya that is awesome so is the big gatherings at fountains
What do you think something set in India during the British colonial rule?
+Martin Rothuis Not an interesting timeframe for me. Then again neither was this one...until it was
+AngryCentaurGaming Yes but the British colonial rule was from the 1600 to 1942,so there are a lot of options but maybe the location will not fit well
Keep up the great work! Love watching your reviews, pretty much the only I listen to haha
+Man Twinkle Thanks man
Interesting piece of history Darwin because he found an ant that captures other ants and forces them to their work believed slavery was justified. Just thought I would bring it up because he is portrayed as a people's hero in this game.
+Insurgentgaming Some great people do stupid shit and some stupid people have done great things lol
That's true lol.
+Insurgentgaming Wow, never knew that.
Now I Climb up BIG BEN and truly see a beautiful London : breathtaking ✨
can't they just go back to Rome or the caribean? those were great games. Since AC got guns it became lame.
Not My Name you also have guns in ac2 and blackflag
AC 3's combat is the most entertaining. I killed over a 1000 people in that game purely because I enjoyed the hell out of the combat system.
Lmfao i loved just being a complete badass as connor and kicking those guards asses for no reason
As usual, i'm a huge fan of your linguistic abilities, sass, and on point reviews. Thank you. I always come here now before buying a game to see if you've done a review and i'm glad you did this one.
Compare this to ac2. I would rather play ac2
AC2 is meh, i pefer AC3
+Eric Nick That's because you were dropped on your head as a baby.
AC2 is the pinnacle of Assassin's Creed.
DarkKingBowser Where you there when i was a we bit kid? No it's not, in fact it's the least interesting game of the whole franchise with the weakest set of characters i have ever seen.
+Lucky 7s Meh. I played 5 times.
I prefer Rogue. It's more... "refreshing"
Eric Nick I was just kidding. But you're wrong about the characters. Ezio has the most developed character arc of the all Assassins
No view on storyline ? modern-day story ?
+callum micallef You mean other than everything I discussed in the gameplay section? Or do you mean just my thoughts on the little bit of modern day stuff
AngryCentaurGaming Bit of modern stuff. I was wondering is it got much better or is it the same bullshit as Unity ?.
+callum micallef Incredibly lean.
AngryCentaurGaming :( that doesn't sound so good
+callum micallef Probably depends.
Odd.
Great review. The game is a lot of fun. :)
This is what i call a review. Simple, funny and straight to the point. Keep t up!
+Rohan Philip thanks
yep, definitely another ubi game: wait for a sale
techfluke It's $20 on xbox digitally right now and I also got the ezio collection. Good deal in my opinion.
I actually have fun playing this game compared to Unity. It's a nice addition, not as great as Black Flag but overall it's better than Unity even the side missions are fun to do.
Wdym not as great as black flag it is the worst in the franchise rouge is better
+feyzal92
Black Flag had the weirdest ending ever.
Ubisoft has just ruined this franchise... Assassin's Creed has completely lost its character... It has became an empty shell. :/
+Dr. Dhoom just look up, Assassin's Creed Nolan North original Assassin's Creed.
+nick banana (TheGuyThatBeatUpDemonKing) the overall story might suck but the individual game stories are usually pretty good and the gameplay is always fun. i really like the upgrading system of this game.
+MermDaddy The stories of the individual assassins aren't bad, but the original core of this game is missing, to me it feels like an empty shell...
just bought this for $20. Good review. Gonna check it out this evening.
From where?
You are right in every way :/
+Asylant I respect your opinion; i don't (and anyone should have) the need to insult you just 'cause you have an opinion. Btw, i'm gonna tell u the mine:
Most of the games i play (Batman, GTA, Disagea, Halo, Saint Row, Zelda, The Elder Scroll saga, even The Witcher 1 & 2, cause i haven't played 3, and many more) have the dumbest AI for any man in this earth. If i want a goo challenge, i rather play Dark Souls 1 & 2 (i like 2 more), any Bioware game on high difficulty or...FF1? xD
The point is, most od the games IMO have a poor intelligence and seems ridiculous for me even if the game isn't supposed to be a challenge. /o/
I feel the same! Good call out
awesome review karak. you're still the best reviewer I know. keep doing what you do.
+theaeroz22 thanks
I think a kid would rather spy thn shovel coal
just found your reviews really like the format buy sale rent haven't seen that before very helpful very cool will be checking out these reviews in future :D
+Sammhain65 thanks
i would say wait for sale, it's not worth full price
+naturbur Yep that was the score
+naturbur to be fair, that could be said about any ac game. if you're on pc you are better off waiting anyways with how buggy new releases seem to be, sadly.
i agree, it is great. i heard the pc port had issues at launch. i had such a bad taste in my mouth after ac3 that i swore off the series. then i saw a let's play and got interested.
I've done my absolute best to not watch a single thing on this game except for its first reveal trailer because I don't want anything spoiled for me so I thank you for keeping the spoilers to a minimum this review :)
+xTGE Absolutely man. Thats what I try to do. Spread the word if you can.
+AngryCentaurGaming will do, great review & I'm hoping your review of halo 5 won't be as brutal as halo McC :P
+xTGE lol Me too
+AngryCentaurGaming honestly I'm surprised you haven't got a tales from the borderlands review up, episode 5 was incredible.
I love Uplay. You can get in-game items for "money" earned by playing their games FOR FREE!
I know it was boring and useless being outside of the animus in previous titles, but I feel like the present day story glued each game together and made the story more interesting imo.
Great review as always!
+Matty Pollo Thanks
We will never reach the heights of ac 2 and brotherhood I still say ezio is the best stop giving us this shit every year and take 2 or 3 years and do an 1,2.brotherhood ,revelations and 3 on xbox one and ps4 like mcc
Yes remake them with better graphics
+TubbsPlays Well they aren't releasing a game this year so hopefully next years game will be good.
TeaPartyBatman we got a ezio collection for PS4 at least!
great a legitimately unbiased review channel. I love it you just got yourself a like and a subscriber
+Jonathan Reardon Hey thanks man. Appreciate that!
The hype is long gone and it ain't coming back…
@1:15...you got your V for Vendetta on with the Visually Defining moments of mental Vivid section :-)
no re-playability.
Will be getting the game for PC if any format. A mini review with a port report of the version would be great.
+Markus Blomstrand No promises of course
imperial Rome, Waring japan,
The best thing about AC Unity that I got Far Cry 4 for free .. I have good feeling about this one though. Pre-ordered already, 6 hrs till release :D
I like the "Buy, Wait for sale, Rent or never touch" .. numbers can be misleading, your 8 score might be 6 to me.
subbed!
They milked this series so much I cant understand how people who played it from start find it fun...
This game is fun asf
you're right... even the AI is as bad as it was in ac2.
the game is boring as hell.
I enjoyed this game, no matter even if they milked the series
Did you ever think people have lives and can’t play ever AC game that releases. Playing only AC black flag , and AC 2 before that , I think this is a great game. It has so much in it plus the Jack the Ripper story was one of the best dlcs I’ve played. Fighting isn’t bad , bad compared to AC at it’s peek (AC 2) no it’s not that but it is sooo much better then most games out.
