I'm thinking Sutekh as "the one who waits". He was literally waiting in a chair in Pyramids of Mars to come back, and also, yeah the Toymaker was something, but in Pyramids of Mars they made out that if Sutekh came back we'd all be f****d. Russell has also said he's opening up the pantheon of gods to come into the show, particularly gods that have been mentioned before.
The 14th Doctor can now have his retirement and becomes the great curator, therefore, ending up as the face of the fourth Doctor back in the 50th anniversary. This still allows the 15th Doctor to go on and continue gallivanting around the universe with no continuity issues
I’m happy for all the satisfied Dr. Who fans. I’m glad you have a place to peacefully end your watch. I was recently given this gift myself with the 3rd season of Star Trek Picard. It allowed me to have closure as a fan and move on closing the book on that part of my life. Moving forward have a fantastic life.
Chosen, "an antithesis to toxicity" is among the nicer things I've been called in recent months. Thank you. 😌 I'll always tune in for this channel. You're among my favorite WhoTubers, and I dig your vibe.
you just made me remember they didn't address the clothes changing... now I'm a little bit annoyed about that! But I am fine with the Bigeneration thing, I think it's a clever twist and the episode pretty much tells us that 14 goes to relax with the Noble-Temple clan for a bit, that's basically his therapy and eventually when he's better he will go off again and at some point regenerate into the 15th Doctor who is then brought back to the point of the Bigeneration, so ultimately it is the same Doctor which I am so happy about as the initial leak I saw really worried me but this pretty much puts those worries to rest!
Nice one chimp and yes what an episode. I have to say I was unsure of the whole Bigeneration at the time it aired, but it was immensely enjoyable to watch. Having sat with the idea it is incredibly clever of RTD. It closes the chapter on the revival era, its a goodbye. It allows The Doctor and Doctor Who to move forward without the baggage of everything thats happened. It was lovely to see Ncuti’s Doctor as almost reborn and the way he was able to comfort himself and say it’s OK. Wonderful stuff. Also now with the Whoniverse it wouldn’t surprise me if we get more stories from 14 at some point. One question I wonder, as they split does this mean that 14 can still at some point regenerate again?? Hmmmm its awesome to think about.
Thanks for this one, Chimp. Fantastic video as always. I really look forward to seeing your thoughts on the christmas special too, although i dont expect youll do a review on every single new episode that comes out, since i imagine that would be quite time consuming. Although who knows, you might want to 🤷♂️. I liked making the toymakers insensitivity a personality trait, as it sort of puts the original outfit into context and also adds to his dislikability and makes you love to hate the character even more. And wow, Ncuti really left a great impression on me. That scene where his theme plays is something i cant stop going back to rewatch!
The more i think about it, the more I like The Giggle. Part of me prefers the small cast and inventiveness of Wild Blue Yonder, but The Giggle just had everything in that wonderful, joyous RTD way. I love Ncuti already. The trailer for Christmas looks full of wonder and adventure.
I'm glad to hear your spin on the Bi-generation, ik it was very bold of them to do it but it was bold of them to introduce regeneration in the first place too. It was definitely as you say one of the most mad episodes I've ever seen
Layered? Well, lots of Easter eggs and call backs. The actual story was a game of catch and lots of window dressing. Glorious to watch, but style over substance in hindsight. David survives his third regeneration. His face is now 4 Doctors and a human clone. Ncuti couldn't maintain a single accent, shifting from Lancashire, to Scottish with select sentences in Jafaican. R2D2 thinks it's still 1998. At least the Master dances to contemporary or relevant tunes.
I absolutely admire your passion for this episode. As you say, if you got joy and excitement from this then fair play to you sir. However, I hated every single second of this badly written waste of time. The Toymaker does nothing. A cutting cards game and a game of catch. What? The Doctor settling down?, which not only doesn't make sense for the character of The Doctor but he's also been away with Rose and Mel already. The show was full of hipcrosy and nonsense. As for the last 15 minutes. Dear god. How can you be OK with this? A bio regeneration. Really? Why? Just because. Magic probably. Even though I am not happy with Gatwas casting the fact he had his first appearance completely overshadowed by Tennant is not fair. The Xmas trailer looks absolute Disney cack with a half naked again Doctor. One of the worst things I've ever seen and I have no desire to watch the programme any more. I honestly thought you were going to say 2 or 3 minutes in "ha ha only joking, I hated it" Davies has lost the plot and has an even larger god complex than Chibnall. The Message The Message all the sodding time. Making The Timeless Child def cannon is the ultimate insult. Plus Sasha whatever was an appalling Master as was everything from the 13th era. What is your opinion on the Davros change. I hate it and I hate Davies. That's it. My opinion. Wait, did I mention I wasn't all that keen on it?
The Giggle was undeveloped about 30 mins too short and it showed that RTD was a man who was no longer in his prime. He also blink and you'll miss it retconned the Timeless Child as well. There were some great elements in it but the wheels came 30 mins in, off because it was so under developed and a disabled ramp into the tardis made from a cartoon mallet. The ratings were down half a million in 3 episodes.

my thoughts exactly

Lynx (the robot) is very reminiscent of Kamelion from the 5th. The new spinoff could have something to do with Sarah Jane Smith
17:44 - The one who waits... that's a royal version of Amy Pond, isn't it?
You should do a back-to-back NPH and Michael Gough so we can see.
Rejoice! What an episode that was

They are Mighty eyebrows sir.

I absolutely cannot stand how WHINY Tennent's Dr is. He's so self-pityingly awful he puts me off the whole show.
The Vlinx is a bit Power Rangers
Awesome vid I loved it but I can't wait ncuti
Cool
I loved this episode. I think it had the potential to go drasticly wrong, but i think it was a masterful move.

The viewers are disappearing and this was a regeneration episode
Bye bye
