At it's best? Surely it would be at its best if there were 50's & 37s in abundance. What about the hydraulics now they were something special, many happy memories of holidays at Dawlish Warren with wall to wall hydraulics. It's a nice little film Mike, well done 😃
Nick I do like to visit this area every few years, but I will have to come again but on my own, but will I get the great weather next time. Thanks Nick for watching
Glorious Devon as they call it Mike. Lovely weather there, and a real bonus of The Royal Scotsman on its Great Britain tour. The traction is very different now to my last visit there in 1987!
They run the trains on the wrong line for 2 reasons, 1. The main one is to to allow a fast train to pass stopping local trains as you say. I've been on the local train when this has happened, I should have waited at Exeter SD and got the later faster train . (Usually, the local train will wait to be passed at the Dawlish Warren loops.) 2. If the weather is bad and the waves are coming over the track, they will close the down line, which is on the seaward side and run on the bi-directional up line. Thanks for the video.
Sorry to confuse you. Your title said Dawlish Warren, I was talking about Dawlish Warren beach where a child died, trying to warn people of the potential danger the beach poses. You showed part of the beach at the beginning of the film and I was unaware that any comment had to be regarding a train, my apologies.
Excuse me voyagers are underrated, they are great trains! Beautiful infact. They are just simply underrated because of over crowding. How dare u call them rancid
Keith it was bloody great when I used to go in the 80s and 90s, you used to get a train jams as there were so many trains coming down that line on a summer Saturday.
Still a great place Mike....Like you not the days it used to be in the 80s but i am glad i filmed there years ago.Hope to get down again in October.Nice footage......Trevor.''
We can only dream about them brilliant days we used to have on that strech of line Trevor, but when the sun comes out and something good comes its worth going there still Trevor. Thanks for taking a look, regards Mike.
Hello from Pennsylvania. Your kidding of course! Not even in England, a country of funny place names, is there really a town called Dawlish Warren! Silliness aside, what a beautiful piece of railroad along the seaside. I asked you for beautiful English countryside and did you deliver with this video!! Many thanks. And what train is that beautiful maroon super-luxurious one? Very nice indeed. Thanks again. Fine job. CAS
Cas pleased you enjoyed another one of my videos, the maroon train runs around Scotland in the summer, but once a year it travels around the United Kingdom which normally has around 20 to 25 american tourist on which two years ago payed £9000 each so now its probably more. Regards Mike.
It’s a shame that I’m so busy at this time of the year to see these things rolling by . Next year I’m slowing up with my work ( famous last words) and hopefully I’ll actually get to do a bit of filming. Today they stopped work on the kings walk at Dawlish for the summer holidays. You actually get to see more of my home than I do ,lovely film though . Thanks, andy
I live in Devon and have visited Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. What I remember most is dog mess. Even at the height of the summer dogs are allowed on the beach. One decided to go to the toilet a couple of inches from the towel we were sitting on. Some years ago a schoolgirl died after being on the beach, the cause of death was bacteria from dog mess. There are some beautiful towns in Devon, avoid Dawlish.
What has dog mess got to do with my video of train. ??? I do understand where you are coming from about this terrible problem we have with so people who own dogs, I am a dog owner and I really get piss off that poeople do not pick it up after there dog. I say don't have a dog if you are not prepared to pick it up.
There 's not much interest down Devon for me now when it comes to filming trains, but its still a fantastic stretch of line Bryan. Thanks for your interest Mike.
Lovely part of the world. And no IEP trains too🤗 Shame you didn't video any Pacers though. Nice to see a handful of HST's still running. Went out earlier myself and did a vid of 68025 before I went to work. Thanks for sharing another great video and thumbs up from me🤗
Cheers Chris for watching this video which is very much appreciated. There is loads of the plastic !EP's but my camcorder doesnt work on them trains, and I did see a pacer but wasn't able to film it. Mike.
Because it was a tour going From Scotland to different parts of the country, and it cuts out having to run round the train, plus when the train goes into siding at night. Americans pay big money to travel on this train.
You would have picked a good day had there been the class 52,Hst or even the warship class,ok there was a HST but the locomotives designed and built in the UK had style and panache.
No Jeff we walked the dog on the beach end where they can go, then had to get back to meet our friends at Dawlish Warren, But I still love that area even if there are no good locos to film. Mike.
The only trains worth being on are the ones that don't stop as dawlish is the worst sea side town I've ever been to and I'm not kidding it is a dump so embarrassed to have taken my family there worst week of my life
Amazing video Mike!! Amazing catch of the Royal Scotsman and amazing shot of the china clay! And nice catch of the 150/0s!
Well I'm pleased you found this video from last year Jacob, I do like going down that coast for a holiday with our dog.
Fantastic scenery and trains!
What a great way to spend a holiday!
Yes it was, and the hotel was dog friendly which is a bonus in my book.
Came up on this by accident, but it took me back 40 odd years as we stayed in the coaches every year, good to see they are still there.....
Oh right did you get much sleep at night as there is only a three hour gap when there is no trains. Thanks for checking out my video.
Excellent shots, and so many great angles! Great sound, too! One of the best on YT. BZ, mate!
Thank you very much for your kind comment which is very much appreciated.
Fantastic Mike, that reminded me of our many days down there in summers of the past. Great stuff
Oh mate, I wish we still had that traction to film.
At it's best? Surely it would be at its best if there were 50's & 37s in abundance. What about the hydraulics now they were something special, many happy memories of holidays at Dawlish Warren with wall to wall hydraulics. It's a nice little film Mike, well done 😃
Thank you Anthony, but I must agree with you them early days were bloody fantastic. Regards Mike.
Wonderful footage Mike, loved that clip of the 'Royal Scotsman'...Regards...Bob
I was so lucky to have been in that area on that day Bob. Regards Mike.
I have never before seen so many wonderful angles for great photography of this area, Mike. Wonderful work !!!
Well thank you Peter, that's very good of you to say that. Cheers Mike.
A super set of video clips from Dawlish Warren Mike. Nice shot of 'The Royal Scotsman'.
Cheers - Allan.
Yes I was lucky to get them sheds, been a few years since I last filmed this train. Cheers Mike.
What captures what scenery wow! It had it all Mike, could live there, fantastic footage from you, cheers Nick.
Nick I do like to visit this area every few years, but I will have to come again but on my own, but will I get the great weather next time. Thanks Nick for watching
@@antman09ful1 a pleasure Mike!
Fantastic video, Mike good to see the Royal Scotsman!
-Kyle
I was very pleased to have been able to film this service in a lovey area of the country Kyle. All the best Mike.
Glorious Devon as they call it Mike. Lovely weather there, and a real bonus of The Royal Scotsman on its Great Britain tour. The traction is very different now to my last visit there in 1987!
Your last visit was 1987, really that's amazing Darren.
What a lovely calm blue sea. And the colour of the cliffs as the HST goes past looks amazing!
Never get bored with this area, thanks for watching AT
Great video, we were there that week but missed the Royal scotsman. Its a fantastic place to be and I would live there given the chance.
Yes I do agree its great part of the country. Thank you for watching.

Thank you for watching and your interesting comment.
Brilliant video in such beautiful weather.
I do like this area mate, had some great times down there when we had loads of proper trains.
Great video i spent many weeks visiting my Aunt in Teignmouth fond memories. Thank you.
Yes Ron a lovely area, your aunt was a lucky lady to live in such a nice area. Thanks for watching my video regards Mike.

So you made a comment without watching the video, It is terrible when a child died's through someone stupid action of NOT picking there dogs poo up.
Sadly the real 'good days' are long gone, now all we see is units and the rancid Voyagers and Class 800s
I have had some great days on that line Andrew over the last forty years, its so sad to see what we have now to film. Regards Mike.
Excuse me voyagers are underrated, they are great trains! Beautiful infact. They are just simply underrated because of over crowding. How dare u call them rancid
glad you posted this superb video. I never been there although can see the Dawlish webcam.. cheers a lot
Keith it was bloody great when I used to go in the 80s and 90s, you used to get a train jams as there were so many trains coming down that line on a summer Saturday.
Don't bother going it's not that good looks good on film but not good to visit

A great film Mike, on one of the nicest coast lines in our country.
I agree David its such a great area to film trains, but its getting to the stage now that there's very little to film. Regards Mike.

Some lovely backgrounds for the trains.
There 's not much interest down Devon for me now when it comes to filming trains, but its still a fantastic stretch of line Bryan. Thanks for your interest Mike.

I suppose we have atleast 30ywars to film the IEP's.
Not so long for the Pacers sadly.
Good work mate🤗
Great shot 😀
Thanks Barry.
Why 2x66 for a few coaches. Any ideas?
Because it was a tour going From Scotland to different parts of the country, and it cuts out having to run round the train, plus when the train goes into siding at night.

Thanks Simon, regards Mike.
