    People freaking out over cortosis, I'm glad they addee the secret lightsaber form
    Form 12 Shi'ish-Qibaab
    On a more serious note I love how they did a perfect sith lord portrayal in just one episode, he's ruthless and vicious in combat, dismantles a whole bunch of Jedi like it ain't even a thing, he's cunning, able to deceive the Jedi and catch them on the back foot, he operates in the shadows primarily behind a mask but when his face is revealed we knew him all along he was hidden right it in plain sight, he exposes the weaknesses of the Jedi and the flaws in their methods and also becomes very cocky, arrogant and overconfident in the face of victory which ultimately leads to his defeat in that encounter.
    Like damn that is a perfectly portrayed sith lord right there well done.

      The Jedi couldn't tell if Palpatine was a Sith or if Qimir was a Dark Side user, but could tell when Anakin was in pain from afar or when Order 66 was occurring. And in fairness, the scene with Mae and Sol was brief in the episode. These inconcistencies were always often in SW.

      @@jaieregilmore971 yes, he knows her personally, but usually I see the Jedi sensing stuff only if they try, save for Yoda randomly doing that in the prequels. Sol woke up after a battle and an unprecedented Jedi massacre and was visibly conflicted during his battle with Qimir. It's understandable to be worn out and not in the right mind to just start using the Force to see if he got in the ship with the right twin. I guess that's why we got the Basil shots at the end of the episode. Also, Mae is a desperate person, trying to get away from Qimir's wrath - again, it's understandable to try to do anything to stay alive, even if it feels dumb.

    I'd like to see you debate Star Wars Theory about The Acolyte. He's just hating on the show (sometimes justified for writing and some minor inconsistencies etc.) even if there are some good moments. You put forward some very good points about for example Ki Adi Mundi's age not being that being that important and the choreography being very good at times while still being critical. Great job!

  • @ariesstorm9577

    While I wouldn’t say the lightsaber fights in this episode are as good as the prequels, they are certainly an improvement on what we got from the sequel trilogy.
    But the brutality was actually rather refreshing to see, even though you don’t see it directly I loved the shot of Qimir beheading the pair of Jedi he had just impaled on his lightsaber.

  • @JediHangout
    @JediHangout 14 днів тому

    The lightsaber duels were amazing, best we had since the prequels. I do agree that it’s not on par with the Duel of the Fate, but it was pretty darn impressive. I am enjoying this show. It’s not as bad as some have said. I never go by what others think, good or bad. I make my own judgement. There are flaws in this series, but there are a lot of good points as well. I highly doubt that Disney is out to ruin or destroy Star Wars. Anyone who even thinks a major movie studio has that intent really needs to rethink their lives. I am glad you put this out there and spoken about the duel. There are other channels who have done the same and giving praise where it’s due is important.

    It actually was pretty good. When I look at light saber duels, I go back to 1977 when A New Hope came out. Then ESB and RTJ and any light saber duels after those is a WOW.
    There are better actors for The Acolyte but the script isn't much. Any Star Wars film or show doesn't have much of a script and it's the actors and special effects that carries the film. It doesn't have to oooh and ahhhh, just take the viewer away from reality for a short time.

  • @SELECT289
    @SELECT289 12 днів тому

    Yeah I finally decided to see what all the hubub was about. I went to rotten tomatoes and noticed the 14% viewer rating (ouch) - normally something I go by, but then I went to read viewer reviews and when I initially looked it was one guy posting the same review over and over, and then when I looked again it was all over the place.
    It seems to be most of the complaints are about "woke" culture? Doesn't seem very woke to me. You have some black people, there might be a lesbian relationship in there, not sure, there's a couple of asian guys, but it just doesn't seem out of place at all. There are witches and there the twins happen to be girls. But, there's a smorgasbord of races including white people. Trinity from the Matrix is in the first scene.
    And, then they have the acolyte herself which is basically a Jedi ninja which is super awesome. I am glad I waited until watching them til Ep. 5 because my opinion of Star Wars is shallowly effected by lightsaber combat and space dogfights, lol - but yeah thanks for posting this I do think you hit the nail on the head that the hate is mostly coming from people who are seeking to be outraged.

    Well I did say it was an improvement on what Disney has given us in regards to the saber duels but definitely wasn't as good as the Duel of the Fates, Anakin VS Obi-wan or Anakin VS Dooku🤷🏻‍♂️ but moving in the right direction. Still think they could do with getting nick gillard back in some way or shape. it's like the matrix trilogy fight scenes where they had Yuen Woo-ping as the choreographer it was great but didn't use him in the last one and the fight scenes looked like a bar fight🤦🏻‍♂️

    I'm having such a hard time watching the show. Its just so difficult to accept the dialogue in this show. Its just borderline cringe to me and odd. Feels more like a generic television show type writing. I am however one of those people that doesn't actually care too much about light sabre battles but more about why they are fighting and what emotions are conveyed throughout and also the conversions throughout. Which is more akin to medieval and samurai films (and plays) whereas dialogue takes place throughout the battle in a way that is meaningful. Here it just doesn't exist. I'm assuming they are trying to replicate Maul's mute battles where as he doesn't speak as much. Also this whole everyone has a black helmet is sort of taking away from Darth Vader's threatening approach. So I wasn't a fan of Kylo Ren either. So here we have yet another Kylo. I dont see much story here its boring. Fight scenes dont save shows. Good stories do as well as good dialogue. This show just doesnt have either of that for me.

Like you say we had so many books with the old EU that just stopped reading something and found something else without having to let the world know how absolutely terrible we found a particular story. Star Wars should be for everyone, but that doesn’t mean it has to be for everybody every single time. We can pick and choose which aspects of Star Wars we enjoy and move on from the stuff that we don’t like.

Each show has its own issues associated with it. The number of people on my polls and comments that are just blindly hating and the things they are complaining about are things that have been answered with episode 5 and still, the same complaints are coming through. People just aren't watching the episodes and continuing to hate regardless which kinda sucks, but it is what it is. This just isn't for them and that's okay.
