CLIP DESCRIPTION:
On the cab ride to the airport, Cole (Bruce Willis) and Kathryn (Madeleine Stowe) learn that Jeffrey's plan was to free animals from the zoo.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
An intense film about time travel, this sci-fi entry was directed by Terry Gilliam, a member of the comedy troupe Monty Python. The film stars Bruce Willis as James Cole, a prisoner of the state in the year 2035 who can earn parole if he agrees to travel back in time and thwart a devastating plague. The virus has wiped out most of the Earth's population and the remainder live underground because the air is poisonous. Returning to the year 1990, six years before the start of the plague, Cole is soon imprisoned in a psychiatric facility because his warnings sound like mad ravings. There he meets a scientist named Dr. Kathryn Railly (Madeleine Stowe) and Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt), the mad son of an eminent virologist (Christopher Plummer). Cole is returned by the authorities to the year 2035, and finally ends up at his intended destination in 1996. He kidnaps Dr. Railly in order to enlist her help in his quest. Cole discovers graffiti by an apparent animal rights group called the Army of the Twelve Monkeys, but as he delves into the mystery, he hears voices, loses his bearings, and doubts his own sanity. He must figure out if Goines, who seems to be a raving lunatic, holds the key to the puzzle.

Being born in 2001 I've never heard of this movie until it became a assignment for me to watch it for my science fiction class and I find it a huge coincidence how this movie ages well with the times
@Thanos yeah TV show is a hidden gem 🥺🥺 Best TV series and sci-fi series
what kind of school makes you an assignment to watch a movie with a science fiction class. what do you learn.
@@SilverSpoon_ College. History of cinema for one which discusses how genres and tech moved with society over the years. It was one of the best classes I ever took.
@@lannys8660 so, you know how to operate a camera, framing angles, composition, cutting sequences, ligthing, basics of photography and all ? or you just ... did it for the fun?
I don't understand why people said it's difficult to understand the last part of this movie. It's a vicious cicle where the hunamity is probably condemned, 'cause the man never manages to stop the terrorist for releasing the virus and him, as child, sees his own death, just to do the same thing again and again.
It's called a stable time loop. They'll never prevent this from happening BUT humanity does start to recover in the future so there is some hope
@@nickimillennium The scientist of the future appears in the finale. And it is implied that, with the call, Cole broke the loop
No matter how you say it numerous times, someone else will ask the same question. Cut head if the snake, another grows.
0:21 Illmatic! And this movie was in 1995!
Illmatic was realeased in 1994 idiot
1994? But wait a minute… that means… the docs alive!!! I mean he's in the old west, BUT HE'S ALIVE!
wow, didnt even see that product placement, wonder if it was by accident or on purpose. if by accident, nas couldnt ask for a better placement in history, this movie was legend!
To all the people who think this film is garbage, well those elephant trumpets @0:13 - 0:15 sound like your mum takin' a wee poo in the loo!
Bruh that illmatic poster is insane love it💯💯💯
WE DID IT
And yet all Jeffrey did was let all the animals out the zoo, pretty much making him a good guy. They chased a false narrative the whole damn time!
The animals can't survive in an urban city. He's right we shouldn't hold animals captive if there's a choice, but he's still going about it the wrong way.
@@Raison_d-etre they were alive in the future. At the beginning of the movie that is.
@@jenkemaddict6784 I think the virus kinda helped with that
The bit where the animals roam the empty city looks like a Life After People scene.
Funny seeing Nas’s album Illmatic at 0:21
this makes me wanna laugh for some reason
it‘s an amazing emotional rollercoaster movie. One of the best there is.
It’s a funny twist that the army of the 12 monkeys released zoo animals...
She's holding the steering wheel sideways lmao. Constantly turning left? No wonder you're stuck lady!
0:52
Someone left a message in my voicemail. Something like "The Freedom for animals association is the secret headquarters of the army of the twelve monkeys..."... Then another guy "If u clean carpets you're lucky. You are gonna live a long and happy life....".
I don't know what they mean. People must be going nuts by this CoVid-19 quarantine.
Merry xmas
In the end of the film, the protagonist lost the fight against the antagonist who sent out virus to turn 5 billion people into literal animals as a result. While in reality, in February 2020, the Chinese doctor who sent early warnings about the coronavirus disease 2019 lost the fight in the hands of the Chinese authorities, resulted in further sufferings. What an unfortunate coincidence...
“Coincidence”
@@EdwardRock1 Yes, coincidence. Are you blaming anyone for the monkeypox outbreak or the bird flu going around America again, or do you only blame China for viruses?
0:21 ILLMATIC!!!
Madeleine Stowe is such a babe
I sincerely love this movie, but it's just occurred to me how atrocious the cab lady's acting is. really almost ruins the whole key scene.
Her acting fits the film perfectly
Tbh, the only thing I hate of this clip is that when the driver puts on the radio about the zoo animals breaking free she talks over it….if the radios on ur not supposed to talk over it 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh wow, a **VERY** rare instance of an American pronouncing 'Emu' correctly at 1:08!!
Instead of movie review videos, I go to these and look at the comments. I find it more insightful
Bruce Willis looks even hotter with the shaggy hair and mustache
WTF
People watched this movie to see the elephants and bears not Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt.
This hits very different in 2020
These types comments are really bottom of the barrel. Essentially copy and pasted on every video having to do with an outbreak or just any doomsday film/song.
@ ZodsSnappedNeck
You’ve certainly got a “bottom of the barrel” personality.
not at all man the steering wheel is straigth, it's not where you keep your hands it's about turning the steering wheel :) Do you drive? lol
Bruce Willis disguised himself as David Crosby?
Disguised as himself from the '70s.
Wow differece between
2011 and 2020
Before: bears look realistic
Now: its kinda good but 🤮
0:25-0:29 that does not sound like a real bear sound. What other animal did sound designers use? Some animals vocals in films don’t sound the same as they do in reality.
Ik i sed looks not sounds😏🤣
in the beggining isen't that the same location from baby's day out.
So it took only 25 years to create reality show form this epic movie...
No, it's not a reality show. A million Americans died because the authorities continued to play down the pandemic. We are the most Social Darwinist nation in the industrialized world.
Wild Animals Are Trapped In Cage.
when I heard about the monkeypox, I thought to this movie and this scene
This shows you that zoo animals should escape instead of staying in cages.
Why is the steering wheel huge then tiny wtf
lol dobry pomysl parkingi widac w 0:08 walczyc w grafity virusem bo miasta zgina i "zzielenieja"
ahahahahah you're right!! Sorry I didnt notice that, that is funny ahahaha
That bear was the same bear from the great outdoors
You had one job.
Prophetic... indeed.
This just happened in Wales but with goats and coronavirus :D
You made it
It's time....😂
good movie
USA 2020?
Illmatic
The script
Bruce Willis made the movie bore but brad Pitt put life in it.
@blaspid Have you ever seen the Siege? It's amazing how close that is to 9/11
ASTOR
Prophecy
Wuhan, grenade, body parts and Hong Kong.
I watched this movie long tym ago may be 2008 or 09 n i didnt get it, like i didnt understand it. But in current prospective My God everything they showed is true n couple of days ago jewish found their 12th lost tribe from africa n take them back in Israel.. rest Allah knows but guy get ready for big fight
Who are the lost tribes?
Who are the lost tribes?
can someone plz explain the whole movie to me i was skimming through it i dont fuckin get it llol
Then, you should watch it.
Bruce Willis went back in time to try to see why a virus wiped out all of the humans just like what is about to happen now with Ebola. Oct 1 2014.
+diamondzrmi Stupid bitch.
diamondzrmi go watch transformers
STEALTH I guess it didn't happen
Terrible movie. He's an inept director
Lol. Riiiiiight....
Booo
on the contrary, never more relevant than today.
Albert Klarname the malcontent always opine to that effect...
On the contrary.. I think this is his most accessible movie and a good one at that. Try watching ZERO THEOREM and you’ll see how bad things really can be.. I loved 12 Monkeys though.
