Great video. I purchased a Classic this past spring and I love it. I do agree with you on your evaluation on the Classic you can only fish two people comfortably and on the gas you just have to think out how and where you are going to fish a large lake but it can be done. Keep up the good content.
I would just get the classic and upgrade the gas tank. The rest will still fish plenty well. Also, I personally like the extra space on the lower deck in the Classic. Leaves room for a large cooler. The small "Live Well" would be great for bait.
Definitely love the Tracker Boat quality! I have a 1999 Tracker Pro Guide V-16 with a 50hp 4 stroke on it. Great beginner boat for me. I am debating whether or not I should get the Classic or the 175. I do fish 15000-acre lakes fairly frequently, so the size would be a bit nicer along with the extra hp. You really can't go wrong with either. Had to drop a sub as well! Great videos!
The 75 Mercury on the 175 is a great choice. This engine has 127 cubes for only 75 horsepower and is the same block used on the 90 and 115. Even at wide open throttle it’s Loafing. Great video and good info.
I bought a 2021 classic xl it came down to the price. For the extra 7000 I can to a whole lot of aftermarket upgrades to the classic. It fit my budget and the fishing I do........
I own a Classic and its a great boat. I added a second trolling motor battery and an extra 6 gallon fuel tank. I have been out running all over a big lake all day and never even touched the second tank. I reaching 35 MPH with the 50hp Merc is not a problem. The trolling motor struggles in the wind and the front deck is small. Upgrading the electronics and trolling motor over the winter. Also, making a custom front deck extension adding steps to the front a rear decks. 13 1/2" step gets tiresome after a long day of fishing.
Richard, How many miles do you think you can get on 6 gallons? I just put a down payment on the Classic today and wondered if I should install the 12 gallon scepter tank? Also they let me upgrade to an Ipilot 55 trolling motor.
If I planned on fishing by myself mostly on budget I would have bought the classic. The classic is a great boat for anyone who wants to fish, even small tournaments. I opted for the 175 TXW because it's a little bigger but the price difference is $10k more and I don't see $10k in upgrades on my 175 TXW. The 195 TXW is where you actually start to see the significant upgrades when compared to the Classic but that's "roughly" $20k more than the Classic and "roughly" $10k more than the 175. If you're looking for a beginner boat with enough room for 2 adults that weigh 180lbs-220lbs each, you'll want the 175 or 195 for a wider, longer and much more comfortable boat. To each their own. Get what you need for what you're going to use it for. Fish don't care about expensive boats, rods/reels and lures (I watched a video of a guy catching a 30lb fish using a 3/8 crescent wrench.) They do make a difference if you're interested in tournaments (might want to look into fiberglass boats) but for the average weekend warrior, you can't go wrong with most of Trackers aluminum boats. You'll always end up adding upgrades anyways.... Regardless if your boat costs $15k or $70k.
That's one of the issue's I have with the Classic is the live-well is only 9 gals! To small to tournament bass fish. Also the 175txw is a full foot wider. 77" beam vs a 89" beam.
wrong on the 30mph on the classic, you can get up to 35/36mph with a 50hp merc, also wrong about gas tank because there is a space to add another 6 gallon tank, and yes you can fish tournaments with the classic xl. The classic is an amazing option for a first boat for any bass fisherman and for the price you just cant beat it.
I vote Classic XL, just cuz since I got mine I've turned into a total fan boy. Honestly couldn't be happier. But I wanted a boat for 20 years and this was my first so I'm probably bias.
There is only a 6 mph not 10 mph difference in top speed between them also the price is $9,000 in difference between the Tracker TWX 175 @$21500 w/75hp vs the classic XL 50hp @$12500. That's a big difference! Just saying dude
I live on a 30hp lake. I have bay boat I use for larger lakes, Just can’t decide on what will not just work, but make me happy own in this size. Been on the 175 with a 30hp. Idk, seemed like a struggle for that boat size. Classic seems to small for the price, idk Love not dealing with jet skis, but maybe should have thought about the HP restriction a little more. 🤷♂️
kidiraq 30 hp is definitely too small for the 175. 30 on a classic would work, but you would move slow. Thanks for watching. If you have any questions, please ask!🔥🤙
BucketMouthBass BucketMouthBass this for the reply bro! I actually had a 175twx with the 75hp on it transferred to a dealer near me to buy because of your video. Tracker found it for me 3 months ago right when your dropped this video. It was the only one they could find from SC to Missouri. I was going to replace my bay boat with it since I no longer live near the salt and love the deck space of a bass boat for bass fishing. Dealer was shady day before I took possession so I backed out and now am focusing on keeping my boat for big lakes and finding one for the lake I love on. Finding something other then a tiller John for the 30hp restriction has not been easy! The company that owns the lake/reservoir knows this. They clearly state recreation is a distant 2nd to them profiting off of the local reservoirs for drinking water. Smh
I own a Classic and I really don't think it's too small. It's actually longer than the Pro 160. If you fish mainly by yourself or w one other person the Classic works great. With a 30 tho, (options are 40 or 50) it might be a little doggy.
I have the Classic XL w the 50 and have to say I couldn't be happier. While you get a bit more with the 175 I don't think it's worth that much more money. I mainly fish by myself or with one buddy and it's the perfect size. I just catch and release so my live well is just another storage box. I agree about the rod holder but I make due. Was leery about the 6 gal tank but the 50 4 stroke gets amazing mileage. I can get several full days on the lake on one tank. I really can't find much to bitch about, for the money it's one of the best deals out there IMO. I put a Bob's stabilizer plate on, an onboard battery charger, a Power Pole Micro and a Humminbird Helix 10 for upgrades.
Good review, but it is hard to compare boats with 6 or 7 thousand dollar difference. You obviously will not get the amenities on the lesser priced boat that you get on a boat that’s $7,000 more.
The classic vs the pro 170 would have been a better choice. Same hulls, same market. The top speeds don't make sense. I have a pro 170 50hp, same boat as the classic as far as the motor is concerned, that does 32 mph with the factory prop. My brothers pro team 175 75hp with the factory prop does 35. When we both put ss props on this year and I saw 35, while he says he got to 41. Not seen the ten mph difference in any trim.

Add a second tank. Boom 12 gallons.
JasonClose Thanks for watching!🔥
True! The classic actually has the space for a much larger aftermarket tank in there too.
And save $10k

Does the classic have the same modified v hull as the 175?

I put a Humminbird Helix 10 on mine, changed the game for me.
With 6 gallons, you can get around 35 miles, but with the 12 gallons, more or less 60+
I think for $60 you can add a tank to the classic would make it 12 gallons but love the review buddy

Been in the boating industry for 10 years. Tracker is a entry level boat.
And? It gets people on the water who otherwise might now be able to.

Considering the Classic XL or Super Guide V16, not sure which one I'm going with at this point.

IMO it's in no way worth an extra 7k. To get a brand new boat motor and trailer for 14k out the door is pretty impressive.
