    Great review. I have the 2021 ProTeam 175 and I have had no issues. As mentioned, I also opted to swap out the carpet and yes, the vinyl gets extremely hot. Plenty of room and storage and handles great in rough water. Rod storage on both sides of the boat, same issue of having to bend the rod to get it in. Not a fan of that either. The 75hp is a perfect match. Have been able to push it to between 45-50. So quite that I have to remind myself that it's running. Overall, it's a great boat and I am glad it purchased this one. Perfect for multi-species fishing.

      You keyed in on something I forgot about. My first trip out was solo so I was backing the trailer and loading the boat on a stupid busy ramp. I got on the trailer, trimmed up and pulled to my spot WITH THE MOTOR RUNNING! I got lucky but was so embarrassed. I check twice now 😂😂

    I own a 2022 175 tracker pro 175 TF very happy with it. I'm a bluegill and crappie fisherman and the trolling motor holds me and does what I needed to do and shower water you know so right now and mine is not vinyl mine is carpeted so at this point this is new for me so far so good and I have a 60 horse Merc on the back in a 45 lb thrust trolling motor

      I’m sure you’ll love the boat. I’m still getting a ton of use from mine, I just fish a bit different, and felt compelled to make a few changes. I think, more than anything, my chief complaint is still the vinyl. It’s a great rig and I’ve caught a ton of quality fish from it.

    Great honest review. I own a 2012 I bought used a year ago. It seems tracker hasn't improved very much from 2012. The same cons still apply. The biggest con for me is the pedistal mounts(or whatever you call em). If you stand a lot like I do they become a trip hazard easily. But like you said, I don't regret buying it. I've had more fun in my little tin boat than a lot of other toys I've owned. It is a great entry level boat. Looking to upgrade the trolling motor soon to a 55 # terrova with spot lock. Great video. 👍

    As a guy who fishes for crappie and cats more than bass, some of your cons are definitely pros for me. I did go with the vinyl because the carpet in my last boat was a mess from catfishing. I guess I'll see how much I like it in August. 😉 I absolutely agree on the rod lockers. Those tubes are awful. I wish they had just left them open all the way to the front. That would have made them much more useful. The two rod lockers were a selling point for me because the Panfish 16 I upgraded from had almost no rod storage, but they ended up being about the only things that I dislike about the 175. A trolling motor upgrade will happen next spring, too. Mine has the 60, but I'm happy with around 35 with me and my son, who are both big guys. Most of the lakes I fish don't offer a lot of opportunity to open it up anyway. I have run into some early trouble with the motor, but hopefully the warranty will sort that. If not, my review later won't be as good.

    • @OkieOutdoorAdventures
      @OkieOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому

      I used to catfish a lot, and I can imagine the vinyl would be a blessing. We used a lot of liver and Shad so carpet would be horrible. Hope your motor issues are sorted before fishing really gets hot.

    Thanks for a great, honest review. I have owned a Bass Tracker III (16 ft w/50 hp Merc) for 35 yrs and am looking to get something newer. I plan on looking at a 2012 175TF w/75 4 stroke and am so happy I ran across your video. Big concerns for me are ease of loading (not as young as I used to be) and a smooth(er) ride. Your video gave me vital info for preparing me to inspect the 175TF. Thanks again for the great video!

      Thanks for the feedback. She’s easy to solo load, and I feel those pains on the extra years catching up with me. I think I’d look into the trailer steps as it’s a bit tall getting in and out of solo loading.

      @@OkieOutdoorAdventures I bought the boat and I need a step ladder to get in and out of it in my driveway. Yes, I will look into trailer steps. The boat came with a Drotto Catch-N-Release Boat Latch system for loading/unloading on the trailer. I give this system an A+!

    You are so right ! That vinyl gets so dang hot. My wife wanted it over the carpet. I would like to remove the rod tubes. I hate them. I have the TF model as well in a 2023.. 75 hp mercury four stroke. The Edge trolling motor sucks and I’m planning to up grade.

    Something I’ve done to cut down on condensation in boxes is “insulate” the box’s lid with an evp type foam “sea dek” so there is no where for the condensate to build. I’ve seen some guys use thicker foam and hang baits from it and just replace when it gets worn but I hate baits out of boxes especially ones with treble hooks.

    I had a 2018 175 TF. Sold it for a Ranger RT198. The 17ft Tracker handled big water better my 19ft Ranger aluminum. Big con for me was lack of versatility in options you could put on them. Really not made for power poles. Couldn’t flush mount any graphs in console. Tracker doesn’t really allow much room for that stuff. Also didn’t like the 3 seat based up front. I’m also a bass fisherman so they just got in the way. Other than that stuff it was a solid boat that was always dependable to on the water. I would just say if you are strictly a bass fisherman, go with the TXW.

    • @OkieOutdoorAdventures
      @OkieOutdoorAdventures  2 роки тому

      Glad you’re enjoying the boat for sure. Personally, I went with the Garmin Force. It really comes down to what you want to spend, and what technology you want from it. Do you want spotlock or anchor mode? If not the Maxxum, or the Fortrex would both serve you well. Hearing good things about Motorguides too, but I’m not a fan, personally.

    I am looking into getting a tracker pt 175txw and from what I can tell it appears that the pedestal mounts are much smaller and less of a trip hazard. My only worry with the boat is that I won't be able to control it in the wind but I think if I get a 24v 70+ pound trolling motor i'd be okay any thoughts?
