    Written out:
    Every character takes their turn assisting their army in whatever way they see fit, contested by opposing leaders (Average DC for your game if no leaders exist)
    For every success over their opponent, add a D6 to the pool. For every failure, remove a D6 from the pool. Once all leaders have gone, roll all remaining D6 and take the highest. If you would have negative D6, roll that many and take the lowest. Ties roll equally, bloodbath ensues.
    The die result = % losses maintained. At 5% losses, an army will rout if possible and sane.
    These turns represent larger swaths of time than a standard turn.

      Check out 28mmRPG and the other guys in our actual plays as well, we're developing a method we call "4D" to cut out all the nonsense that slows games down.
      Hope it can be helpful!

      Um, maybe i will, not sure
      I like the concept, but is there a way for this system to account for differences in the ability of the one army over the other? Or within a force? I guess at the point you’re worrying about those factors you can’t really hope for a 10 minute solution.

      @@jatelitherius9842 That would be where your system of choice handles things. So for example, you have a well trained and disciplined army? A skill check to get them to do move where you want would be easier.
      The opposing army is underequipped? The attack roll to hit them would be easier.

    When you say "army" you mean the whole army (thousands of men) or a unit of hundred-ish men?

      You can use either as you see fit. I tend to run things in the late medieval to early renaissance period as far as tech goes, so armies got quite small.
      You could also use this to represent big armies with each player character doing something to support their unit, be that platoon, company, or division level.

      @@flamezombie1 what happens on ties?

    • @flamezombie1
      @flamezombie1  8 місяців тому

      @@yuri_art_92 Ties are just a straight roll-off (see pinned comment). 1d6 vs 1d6, losses are determined by the intangibles (individual troop skill, morale, blind luck, etc.)
